Would you kindly please explain why the splicers always wore masqurade masks on their faces? Lol.
I found the dead cats behind the Vita-Chambers to be the best surprise about the game, I would love to know what they were doing there, and why. Anyone have any ideas about the dead felines?
for me being a child of rapture was truly an eye-opener for me, but the phrase would you kindly followed by the flash-back sent chills through my spine and echoed back with waves of anger. followed with the torture of fontaine stopping your heart mexican hulk (me) could only think over and over im gonna kill that son of a @#$%&, this game truly gets you it emoitionally attaches you to the character and puts a truly fearsome mind-set on you
The most surprising thing was that I wasn't a big chunky space marine with a million grenades.
Also, there was no seven year old talking into his mike trying to be gangsta while his mom calls him down to dinner.
That Frank Fontaine turns into Doctor Manhattan.
OMG, Andrew Ryan is your father? Wow, I didn't understand anything in the game but I was so hooke dto the story and loved it, WTF! Can someone summerize what the point of the story was? Like, Why did Ryan Kindly ask me to smack him several times with his own cane, I thought that was awkward behavior, did Ryan want to die?
I loved the twist with the 'Would you kindly'I think Bioshock 1 has one of the best storyline twists in a game
Im no different than anyone else. For me it was finding that Andrew Ryan was your father, and the whole "would you kindly" thing.
That "Would You Kindly" phrase, and its effect on the player. Perhaps it is just me, but I felt Irrational Games broke the fourth wall throughout BioShock.
The entire game felt so personal.
1.My father is Andrew Ryan
2.I was made a slave
3.Atlas was really Fontain
4.I hijacked the plane
1. W.Y.K.
2. Ryan is your Daddy?!?!
3. Atlas is, in reality, Fontaine(Kinda pissed me off. Atlas had potential as a character...)
4. Morality Choices(Were kinda Black & White though...)
5. Why did Ryan want to die?
Aside from that, the good ending has to be one of the most powerful endings i've seen in a video game to date. Sure, Metal Gear Solid and Final Fantasy come close, but the BS1(good)ending trumps them all in the end. Overall, BioShock is storytelling gold!!!
the entire bit that almost every character was in more relation to you than you thought, even after playing the game once or more
wouldyoukindly said:the very begining where your in the elevator and its dark you see the splicer come out and kill that guy...and i gotta admit i was a little scared..i said oh hell...im gonna die....good times homie...good times!
Yeah dude I was afraid to get out of the bathysphere when I saw that happen. lol
First I thinked it was like Star Wars, that there is not a single, film, game where you not going to hear the: I have a bad feeling about this. But when found out why kept saying. Would you kindly, it was shocking.
My Biggest surprise was Atlas changed to Fontain
Mine was finding out it only took three little words to control a man...
"Would you kindly"...
what blew my mind was that jack was a sleeper agent and was all along meant to infiltrate rapture
My brother already told me that Ryan was your dad so he kinda spoiled it but I was very surprised at finding out that Atlas/Fontaine was controlling you the WHOLE time with just the sentence "Would ya kindly"
I guess we're all to used to being given orders in videogames, having a game that actually uses that as a plot element was a change for good in terms of story telling.
Best moment i had is when i was in Arcadia and the Houdini splicer was right behind me, that seriously made me jump that or when you meet Cohen, or just fort frolic in general was awesome.
@hunterlane. Oh yeah, I love Arcadia.
@hunterlane i wasnt actually expecting to meet cohen, i thought they would just have him be another major character always at that bit of a distance from you like when you first met peach, atlas, tenenbaum....andrew ryan.....lady that made the lazerous vector....game made me really feel lonely inside.
how easy it was to deafeat andrew ryan
OMGGGGGGGGGGGG, How did I miss that after playing it 4 times, like wtf?

This. I was suspicious of Atlas because he couldn't get his story straight, first he brings his family down, then he meets his wife in a bar, and the posters in Fort Frolic were kind of obvious too..
Its too late now, but just in case....
*SPOILERS*
The would you kindly was a little surprising, I was more surprised that I took down the plane.
What was SHOCKING was that Jack couldnt/wouldnt stop himself from killing Andrew Ryan, especially after the big reveal.
And I think what made me feel the big betrayal was finding out that Atlas was really Fontaine. I LIKED Atlas. I WANTED to help him, and I felt Sooooo betrayed by his act.
That was one self that made the plane crash.
Finding out that the present you have in the beginning is a gun you use to take down the plane
I never understood why Ryan made you kill him. It seemed to go against all of his ideals.
When you're faced with the moral choice of either harvesting or saving the Little Sisters. Sure games before this gave you a moral choices such as KOTOR, but with this one the thought of harvesting them just made me feel horrible and vile. Few games actually get a sort of emotional response out of me.
Also, becoming a Big Daddy. Wasn't expecting that at all.
Relazing you were just a slave to fontaine hit me pretty hard i trully thought he was a man with a family in trouble but then you relize what was really the truth the song the ocean on his shoulders desribes the pain that jack went through beacuse of rapture i also think the song would well explain deltas story as well this game changed my life i can not wait till october 16th

Because he saw that he had lost it (it was being stolen and wrecked) and since he built it, he wouldnt let them have it. (one of the audio tapes spoke of a forest he had bought and when the government tried to take it from him for a park he burnt it to the ground).
He was going to destroy those enemies (Rapture was on self-destruct when he committed suicide)
He was tired of going against his principles trying to fight people who had none and used his principles against him.
I think finding out that in reality I was technically the "bad guy" in all of it (even though I rescued all the little sisters). It was just sort of a kick in the pants when Ryan explained the "would you kindly?" phrase and you flash back to all the times Atlas said "would you kindly?" The first time I played through I thought the reason why Atlas was saying that was because he was Irish but then it all made sense and fit together. I literally felt like I got hit in the chest with a brick during the confrontation with Ryan because it all made sense and I was took naive to see it.
"would you kindly" and atlas ---> fontaine
That Ryan was willing to destroy his city rather than fight for it when he HAD the resources to do so and win (and have Jack locked up/deprogrammmed and Fontaine exterminated and rebuild his city)
But then, never let logic or consistency get in the way of a blast-fest GAME plotline.
