This franchise really needs to be revisited, me thinks. Just began playing through Third Reich after purchasing it during the Steam Sale and really dig it.
-
As you, I've buy it again on steam. "Again" because I left my boxes version far far away...
-
I never owned the games in the first place and I only noticed that they were on Steam a few weeks ago... When I get home I'll see if I can gets them. ^_^
-
The Steam sale was awesome. I've re-purchased the games (have them both physically), so I've them available wherever I go... x)
-
I seen the deal, it's a great game that's well worth the purchase.
-
It didn't do terribly well, did it? Great reviews and all, but I'm not sure the sales were there to justify a new one. I'd love, it, but that doesn't mean it would make business sense.

Its on Steam??!!! Im so there!!!!
-
I was going to, but I decided to get Darwinia instead. Maybe I'll get it next time it's on sale.
-
I'll considering purchasing it, period!
-
It's on sale for 2€/$2 (for both the games) this weekend. I bought them, even though I already owned the first game. Not my favourite Irrational games, but they are still fun to play and have some great characters.

I still have my cd's in one piece but I keep wanting to pick it up on steam when it is cheap just to chuck 'em for good. I'm all about digital these days.

How does this title run/hold up on modern systems?
It's been a VERY long time since I broke out my copy and I'm thinking of downloading it--but I want to hear from someone who's experienced the steam version.
-
It's not that old. It runs exquisitely.
I'm strongly partial to the first FF. The story was truly epic, meeting the characters for the first time was exciting, and there is simply a lot of excitement as to what kind of craziness is going to happen next; Just like a good comic book of the era.
The second game is still solid, but the new characters and villains didn't resonate with me so well.
I can not recommend playing it again enough. It's still one of the warmest games i can think of. It's one of those games I break out when i'm feeling down. It's like a fireplace and a blanket and a cup of cocoa all wrapped up in one. That sounds dangerous.

Ok, I'm sold, I'm going to boot into Windows right now and pick it up.
I need something light to counterbalance all the demons and blood covered dogs in Dragon Age.
-
As promised, I just picked up the two game package on Steam for about 7-8 bucks.
I think the game may play better than it did eight years ago. I know the huge resolution output is better than I had in 02.
I am having a little trouble with an overly sensitive mouse and I know that if the game were released today the moving camera would be more sophisticated (and the attacks could be put on screen like KOTOR so that right click could be used for camera pivot), but in all it's easy to remember why I loved this game so much.

I downloaded the demo to the first game awhile back and I wasn't able to get into it for some reason. I think I am going to try and get the demo to the second game and see how I like it. It seemed to have a lot of potential the controls seemed to be rather awkward though.
