No problem with Aztecs GS for Feudalism and/or Feud, Religion and Nav from huts (and maybe GB - instead of GS - for Samurai). Problem: Aztecs are very far from Paris (Kinghts for free are in Paris) and i have no money for extremely long road and no way for forced walkouts (Paris and Tenochtitlan). So transport needs few turns but still 1200-1500 BC should be possible.

But i'm not going for Dom (maybe later), i'm working on BC non-dom. CoL at 2500 BC from Romans looks very good but isn't. 2400 BC start of expanding with only 2 settlers and i can't expand to Paris (due to seed and French legion). Democracy about 1300 BC (i hope) but production city is very good (~6 turns for 500h), so Ind+Corp from huts are needed (or - maybe - 2GS+1GB).

    Mission Complete - BC non-dom - all 16 civs

    Today i did on Deity:
-200 BC Cultural V. (X360, o777o) - almost perfect, GB too late - 800 BC, Democracy at 1200 BC, so 300 BC should be possible
-1800 BC Dom, useless David from 150 culture but Knights from hut, with GS i can see 1900 BC (stupid Aztecs has no AA so maybe ~2100 BC is possible, maybe not, my opening is different - Rome&CoL is critical for non-dom).

Finally: mission complete, BC non-domination with all 16 civs. What next? I don't know.

Well done, thats pretty impressive, congrats!!

I had a quick go sunday but didnt achieve much...have no time to play this week, maybe next week, Romans are always loads of fun.

    For 300BC: 1200 democ., 900 railroad, 300 win
Is it always suppose to be like that, 9 turns from democ..... or better question, democ + 3(turns/techs) = iron mine? (which 3 techs, i usually have more then 3 after democ. maybe thats what im doing wrong...)
Normally i will get literacy, currency, irrigation,(ind+corp if possible) then democ. so i have monarchy-invntion-univ(if needed)-steam-railroad= 5 techs (7 with ind and corp).

maybe this links to less efficient expanding on my part? i mean, you are expanding 12 turns (2400-1200), thats a lot of techs you are getting during this time while expanding .... for me it always seems like there is not enough resources to make this happen in such a short time, but obviously thats wrong

Not so fast 3 turns? It's almost impossible to research Steam P within 1 turn (without Irrigation + University).
    Rather:
    -1300 BC Demo
    -800 Railroad, 86 hammers / 1 turn (last 2 turns 129h/1turn).

Literacy (early) from hut is worth 1 turn. Also: Caravan from Currency worth 155 gold but 1 turn earlier is worth 30g, so expanding 1 turn will be hard, maybe impossible i had 120 beakers for Demo (yes 120/120 - no more).

    EDIT. Weekly spoiler:
    4000 BC NE NE
    3900 BC N (10g), settle - 4g, militia SE
3800 BC mil E, sell caravan, rush warrior1 vs barbs (40g), London - 5 science
3700 BC choose HBR, W1 NW mil go to 3S 4W (for 10g), W2 SE
    3600 BC W2 S, W1 NW, sell W1, caravan SE E E
3500 BC W2 SE, caravan to Thebes (50g), sell Monarchy (10g)
3400 BC HBR, 100g settlers N NE, W2 vs barbs (retreat when 2nd barb is killed), rush Horse1 N NE, 100g city (all 9 gold), rush H2 NE NW
3300 BC H2 defend, H1 NE def, W2 vs barbs, mil SE, (from 100g city) H3 NE NW
3200 BC H3 def, W2 vs barbs, sell caravan, mil SE, H4 NE NW, sell HBR, HA vs Archer 6 vs 8, H2 vs GL 2 vs 0, Thebes + IW
2500 BC buy CoL from Romans
    2400 BC Rome (walk out)
    2100 BC Paris (walk out)
    {for Dom: 2000 BC Knights + Fund from huts, very long road from Paris to 2N from Aztecs}
    {1900 BC Tenochtitlan 30 vs 8, 30 vs 8, 5 vs 2.5?, x vs 0}
    1300 BC Ind+Corp from huts
1200 BC Democracy, ~40 cities, AoC
700 BC Railroad, GB for Internet

Kadrea forgive me im pretty new but i want to start GOTW. I tried to follow the above spolier for my first game to get a hang of it. At 3800 when i sell the caravan the barb village grows. One time i did it and it didnt grow, but it seemed random. Can someone tell me why selling my caravan does this or how to stop it

You need to stop "auto-end of turn" (go to city screen at start of turn, every turn).

    Jacob,

Following Kadera's stratagies is like jumping into the ring with a 8th degree Black Belt as a White Belt...!

Just play the game... accept rediculously high AD year finishes... and learn by experience.

When you start to win games around 1700AD or so, then look for GOTW spoilers...

Believe me you'll have more fun...

However, use the forum to ask any questions about game play... someone will answer and probably have additional helpful hints...

VERY well said john. i think the most fun i ever had in a game was the first time i beat it on diety. had to rack my brains to pull it out.

if youre new to the game youre prolly on your own past 3200bc.

im not sure about this but i think its important to do the same thing every time for a fixed result. i mean EXACTLY the same thing.
