Don't take my word for it, read the reviews. This is seriously good. And it has a permadeath setting for that added "oh crap" feeling.

Small trick: the daily contract screen has some "bonus token" type stuff that you can get random gear from if you click a button that opens your web-browser to an ad. The trick is that you don't have to look at the online ad, just click back to the game as soon as the browser starts loading and there's your gear. Given how insanely difficult the game can be, this is ...a rather minor thing. Especially early on when you have little clue what's going on.

Again, don't believe a word I say. Do your own research before you plonk down your hard-earned $4.99

I love how people (including myself) are so hesitant to plunk down $4.99 (or even $0.99 in my case) on a half decent game, yet are tripping over themselves to drop $12 for a vodka tonic at a club/bar... which gets you nothing really.

Sounds like a game I should try.. just not sure it runs on my iphone 3g (original!)

yep the game is pretty good, but as any app game gets old very quickly (3-4days).

if you can get over the fact that its fantasy (can be take to sci-fi too, story wise) then i can recommend "battle for wesnoth" very, VERY decent turn based game for the phone. missions partly take ages too! has permadeath as well which plays a big role!
