Bioshock 2 on windows 7 doesn't start at all

First of all i'm new here so sorry if this is a repost

So i bought the game, inserted the cd , installed and then the problem came.
When i click on the launcher it doesn't start at all, no starting screen , nothing just a circle next to my mouse telling me that my computer is doing something(for 2sec).
I tried changing the compatibility to Vista , xp you name it , even runned it as admin, nothing helps it just doesn't start.
So does anyone know how to fix this so i can play it.

    Processor :Intel i5-2450M quadcore
    Cpu@ 2.50 GHz 2.50 GHz

    Hi, zeropoint1991
    Welcome to the forum.

Sorry that I cannot help you, I don't know much about gaming, I just wanted to welcome you to the forum.

Perhaps your anti virus or some other software is interfering?

You will learn quickly learn that 2k tech support is horrible. The last 2 game i bought from 2k(one being bioshock 2) have had something wrong. Bioshock2 freezes within the first 5 minutes of play the other was Duke Nukem forever. I bought Duke from Game stop a month ago, when i went to install it the cd key was missing balled tech support sent in all my info and pictures of the game case, game disc, instruction booklet, and my receipt and i still have not heard back from them. It is like they are trying to chase off their customers.

I am not an expert on debugging games or Windows 7. But some usual things to do are (1) look at the event logs in the administrative tools and see if there are any related errors recorded, (2) look in the c:\users\<login>\AppData\Roaming\Bioshock2 folder and see what files are present (mainly just to make sure it is writable, (c) see if you have all the updates to the .NET framework (all versions). That last one can be tough. Everything nowadays uses .NET framework and sometimes products get a bit meddlesome and break something without regard to what else might be on the machine. It can be hard to tell is something is out of synch there, but if it it, you will be broken and not have a clue why.

Turn off your AV and firewall - not as a permanent solution, just as a test - to see if the game comes up. Move the slider in 'User Account Control Settings" (which controls how much nagging the system does whenever you install something) down to 0 and retry.

You don't mention what your graphics card is, but if you can totally clean out your video drivers and do a reinstall, you might get lucky. If you have an additional video card lying around, give it a try too.

GFWL can be a real villain as well. It is confusing, intrusive, and sloppy. There is a lot of emotion about games and software companies, but GFWL deserves every ounce of bile people hurl at it. You might try removing/reinstalling that from Microsoft's site and see it anything improves.

    All the ideas I have . . .

If you have a spare drive, or enough free space on your current drive to create a smallish extra partition (W7 will do simple re-partitioning), you could try to do an absolutely clean install with your current W7 installation disk, with just bare-bones drivers and nothing else. Then install BS2 and see if it runs in a pristine environment.

I don't know about the licensing issues with W7, but you would have 30 days to play with it, I think. It would at least let you eliminate a lot of variables.
