Post (maybe spoilers) So I went back to the original bioshock...

I doubt anyone remembers me but...
I decided to play the original Bioshock again after a HUGE binge on the second game (with Team Fortress 2 in between but that's besides the point) and man their is ALOT of differences. Ill point them out:

    Biggest complaint first:
-Security command level 2/3 why you leave me? D:<
    Moving on:
-No more duel wielding, I personally liked duel wielding more, as I had more control on the situation.
-Hacking, I think BS2 had a rare example of a good quick time event. Pipe dream stopped the gameplay and kicked my ass.
    -Vending Machines, they make noise!
-My first firearm no longer one hit kills anything I headshot
    -Tonics are organized
    -CRAFTING!
-When I clear rooms it notifies me (kinda a soft shimmer sound)
    -Security bots make helicopter sounds
-More cinematic, Bioshock 2 had alot more ingame story sequences while the first hat alot of cinematic sequences. (that took control of me)
-Shotgun is now badass without the damage upgrade
-I can do the anti refire glitch again by M1+M2+M1 with the crossbow and shotty
-Rosies are in more then one level
-my guide is not southern anymore
-no achievements (btw im playing on steam)
    -no laggy multiplayer
-I can delete my old saves
-all upgrades available, no more locked upgrades (weapons)
-Little sisters no longer all look the same
-the adopt button stopped working D:
-my wrench no longer requires fuel
-I cant bash people with mai gunz
    -no more annoying psychiatrists
-Im shorter, vending machines are like skyscrapers and turrets are man sized, Bots are like flying cows.
-Cameras go dre-de-de-de when they see me
    -Pictures, no more videos
    -no music in loading screens
    -Tenenbaum exists xD
    -I can revisit old levels
-Enemies no longer dissapear after X levels (thuggish after paupers drop, spider after Dyanisis, brute after siren ally (though they come back)big daddies after Fontaine Futuristics)
-Big daddies no longer sound like they are going to fall through the floor when they walk.
    -I cant hack from a distance D:
-when im drunk it makes a whoooooo sound
-I...can see the skybox? yay (I mean this because in the second game, the little sister sequence has the most beautiful skybox, and you cant see ANYTHING)
    -More homemade weapons
-No more crappy level 3 plasmids
-no more "Gotta harvest/save X amount of sisters before you can move on" (yes im looking at you Mr Poole)
-the game is like twice as long
    -SONIC BOOOOOOM! <3
-I dont have to fight brat teenagers when I rescue/harvest little sisters
-Splicers dont look like a human that got thrown into a blender
    -Freaking Nitro Splicers
-Bot shutdowns require effort to use
-Alarms dont shut off when I hack something

Big list, I still love Bioshock, but some things in BS2 are better, and yet some things in BS1 are really good too.
(off topic) 2K really needs to make a SDK for Bioshock and Bioshock 2

Are all of these complaints? I'm confused...

And how could I forget your coffee cup of joy?

The things I liked more in BS 2 compared to BS were basically just dual wielding, real-time hacking, and being able to bash stuff with your guns. Overall, BS 1 is much better in my eyes, with but a few gameplay flaws. BS 2 has more, though.

Also, playing as a Little Sister was awesome in the second game.

In Bioshock 2 the only thing that I really liked over the first game was the dual wielding, I prefer the hacking in Bioshock over the hacking in Bioshock 2.

  6. It would have been nice if you separated the list between the things you didn't like and the things that you liked.

Will be interesting (a loooong time from now) to get a similar comparison against 'infinite'.

Probably a lot to be said as they are 2 different areas.

    Of course but similar aspects.

    Magic potions for tonic/plasmids
    Lots of Guns of course
    Hacking ???
Freaky looking opponents (some with weird powers and glowing eyes)
Running around shooting (blast-fest) up countless enemies
    Odd looking scenery
Diary entries (of some kind) explaining things
Multiple monologue quips from the denziens for different circumstances
'Morale' decisions you can simply flip a coin for
    Choreographed 'situations'

Theyve hinted at you being 'pushed' into situations by Elizabeth that might drive a faster pacing of action.
The increased 'scripting' doesnt necessarily equal more versatile opponents.

We shall see when we shall see.

I'm one of those who preferred hacking in BS compared to 2. 2 is just how quick you are which can be almost completely negated with the right tonics. In the first, you actually had to think fast as well as twitch.

This stated, I only recently played both games. And going straight to 2 from the first caused me to waste so very much Eve. "Let me just switch to my Plas...ah, dammit!"

Another thing I liked about the first game is that you can get the camouflage tonic much faster. Scout's okay, but camouflage made ambushes much easier.

Maybe they could have had the color (red/green/white/blue) bars shift in a repeating pattern that you would have to also watch. Pushing the needle yourself (the wandering sniper rifle gunsite mechanism) could have made it alot more interesting (but maybe tedious after the 15th time you had to do it).
