Let's hope this time around someone doesn't quit halfway thru tourney. I've lost lots of my enthusiasm for these tourneys after the last 2 attempts at one failed. 3 if u count euro cup tourney.

1st game i got lucky took thebes and madrid, got great wall and ark of cove, expanded to 15 cities, then game froze while i was getting knights in 10 production barracks great leader city, we agreed that i won
2nd game i moved settler, took washington in 3000bc then he got great wall, galley dropped washington. game was basically over by then as i had 1 city surrounded by his units

just got in first game with max. my indians lose to his english. I start at the top of the map on a skinny penninsula. no place to go but south. walk for three turns and see im blocked by a barb on 1 tile choke... great. settle right there with two trees so ill give it a shot. barb gives me pottery... go figure. crazy thing is after the barb the land turns east on a skinny slither of land land goes east for about 7 tiles with no barbs or anything. I continue but hes dominating by now. takes out chinese for writing... aztecs... and arabs for religion. I get 7 cog later in the game but my fate is sealed by now. I start expanding but he brings galleon with ka's and games over... well played max.

I walked settler down and left to friendly hut and chinese, took them in 3500, horse rushed aztecs only like 5 spaces away from chinese next to hill, then found arabs (next to hill again) and took them, found a couple dye spots and a workshop spot, then built all the knights there and in beijing game over
I had like 16 cities
As u can see i got very lucky w/the hills and ai civ locations

his russians beat my japanese
Island start with russia, but found 7c and acw for fundy early. Game over after that.
Really bad start for me witjh the greeks, but guess coocking had an even worse start?

im usually playing around 5:00 pm through 10 pm eastern US time

i got #$%@$!$#@ing stonehenge but found a nice spot to settle in 2 turns (2 forest, 2 grassland, 1 sea, 2 desert, 1 plains) horserushed and took rome (bronze working) then his madrid w/fundamentalism from aw) but ended up to be a slow game for both of us - I expanded to about 10 cities and had my knight rush around an embarassing 1000 ad, then he forfeited
Ten cities? Maybe times that by 2 and add a few more! Game was well over before I'd quit. Cant remember the particulars of the game right now. Think I did some whale hunting to no avail settled near Mongols but by the time I got a warrior army together their defence was better than my attack. No barbs really 2 or 3 think cc had a HA by the time I'd got 100g. I threatened Romans for CoL and started expanding to islands but I think by the time I was established he was more so. Played crap really I don't think I even got Atlantis. Underestimated him massively and paid the price for it. Good game to him.

Give me code of laws for turns of peace. It doesn't always give you the option to threaten them or any other civ that has a tech you don't. Just keep opening diplomacy with them and it's right there.

My greeks beat Cooking Corner's Greeks. We had to restart cause of a weird glitch or something. The game started in 3900 bc and i was already in democracy. Strange. Another strange thing happened during game. CC took a cap in anarchy but HE DIDN'T FREEZE!
why is it weird to start in democracy?
I see that alot. Inexperienced players in regular ranked matches take caps in anarchy all the time and don't freeze. I always freeze when I do that. Really strange.
Btw, I think you only freeze when you are the one and anarchy and took the cap. I often take caps and my opponent switches to anarchy the same turn. Next turn starts just fine.
then i take it there is a knack to it... maybe somthing to do with instantly dismissing the advisor or some such thing.
That's what i said. He was in anarchy when he took a cap.
Greeks are supposed to start in despotism. Then in 3900 bc they auto-switch to Demo...Course, it was 3900 bc when game started so i guess that makes sense but CC was still in despotism.

My zulu beat Cooking Corner's Arabs. I had a typical zulu start. Took most of gold off map fast. Took 2 caps in first 10-12 turns. CC didn't get a cap or even 100 gold but he did get Nav from Spanish. Unfortunately for him he was never able to use it. My militia saw he had weak defense in cap so i sailed back and picked up a non-vet impi army w/couple archers. Dropped them off within couple tiles of Tripoli as timer expired. Next turn i attacked 3-2.5 and took his cap. Eliminating him. He was about to take Madrid. gg CC.
Played second game against cookingcorner ger V ger. Nothing special here rotten start for me walked into basically a void. Learnt HBR. Got a HA together eventually looked for cc took his cap he had a AA on its way but he was 1 turn too late game over.

Played agaist aledeus. Of course I got a hard freeze when I was down 13-10 in tech. At least last i checked. I was japan aiming for knights in about 5 turns with great leader. He ofcourse think i cheat, freeze did not freeze , lie and all that.
Just hopeless.....I was not near oot of that game. But told him he could get the win...after a little Disput.
Now he dont wanne play the last, calls me a lier since I lied, which i did not do. Jesus...people have problems.
When that happend to me against coocki I offerd restart even though I had that game in my pocket. Startet a new with a really bad start.I Dont call people liars when the freeze.
What to do?And yes I,ve had some bad luck with freezes and weird things in this tourne, but not my fault. Blame the developers.
People in her can say i,m a bad player, i'm stupid and whatever....but please don't call me A liar or cheater cause i'm not even close to that.
