What you say is true, but the whole tourney is now void imo. Some people dont have to use civs because they dont even have to play him, while i played the top 2 civs an hour before he decided this. Its your decision, but the tourney lost its touch.
I agree with raven here I have to be honest. Quitting a tournament because you dont like the way its going and forfeiting your final matches is BS. It screws up the whole tournament because people get handed unearned wins. Basically if he is just going to forfeit all of his games none of his games should count and they should all be forfeited. Its the fairest way possible in my opinion. Thats the way we handle it on xbox usually.
Is anyone else experiencing problems editing their posts? I just get a bank page it wont let me manipulate. Anywyas, what I meant to say was he should just be removed entirely.....alls wins and all losses....thats what we have done in the past on the xbox side of things....it seems to be the fairest way possible....but it still changes things so quitting a tournament this way is highly frowned upon and disrespectful to other opponents.....if its because of real life I take it back....but if its cuz the way things are goin in this tourney its just rude.
this is throwing a monkey wrench in the whole tourney. If I was raven I would also feel kinda mad about this situation but he only had 2 meaninful games left. his games vs mario were irrelevant because mario already was in the playoffs. mario even said he didnt care if he got a loss from those games. The game vs forum and aledeus were big though. put them in the playoffs. with that said, the games xwise did play were "real" games. I have thought about it and thats the decision I made. Sorry if you feel slighted raven. Hope there is no hard feelings.
Neh ofc not, we talked about this, i feel i should have done alot better myself to earn my spot in the play offs. It just puts a dent in the whole tourney, wins should be earned not given. But i realize you got a hard decision to make, whatever you decide someone will lose out in the end. I would preferred grizzley his method aswell, but that would benefit me alot. So i never mentioned it.

I agree with Grizz. I don't see how you can count someone's games if they aren't completed. I'd wipe them all off the scoreboard.
That would be wiping away 10 games for two. I respect you guys opinion but I've discussed it with other tourney players and think this is our best option.
I thougt about this guys and my conclusion is that I will leave this tournament. It's all messed up now. Even if I would be lucky enough to win it, it will be with a bitter taste in my mouth. It's never 100% sure I would make the playoffs(even if I think it was pretty close to it), but we will never now this.
My suggestion is that we start a whole new tournament. I will be in that if we all agree to do it. I just can't keep playing this one with all the drama.
We (xbox players) are all butting in on this a bit - but it seems a shame to just let a tourney die. I mean as opposed to just throwing together the last few finals games. Me and thrash finally got 2011 done and that was in danger of getting a bit lame (then mawpawk/morte and thrasher finally rescued it).
I dont suggest you wait for this guy if he really is a quitter - but might as well get some sort of a result.
Well this really is unfortunate. I feel for you japyaknees. The first PS3 tournament in a while that seemed to be going well.
He can't be talked into finishing his games? I remember him in the chat from my PS3 days, can't be that many frequent the chatroom these days, seems he will be p!ssing off a lot of people for the sake of playing a few more games?
Hopefully you guys can work something out with or without him and not scrap the whole thing.
I think the biggest issue is the brotherhood you guys have on the xbox is not yet here on the ps3.
Some good games were played but ive sat in the chatroom quite abit lately and i heard the word cheater come around a few times.
I really dont think this game is the massive issue in this tourney, alot of games froze were restarted etc.
Its ashame you cant monitor a certain game as audience, to make sure these issues are solved smoother.
Just to make clear also on Xwise his side, he might have been 10 techs behind but he just took a few cities with a bunch of legion armies. Im pretty sure what i would rather have. Not saying Forum was behind in any way, because i dont know, just saying.
We will never now this. The truth is that I had a 15-5 tech lead. It doesn't have to say much, but I feel it did in this case. yes it's thrue he came with a bunch of legions to some of my cities. He took out one and would at least take one more. It did not concern me because my good cities where nowhere neare where he was with his legions. I had a GS and would hit Monarchy for another GP next turn. I also was about to steal a GA from germany(never now if they had defence, but not often this early). Plan was to rush steal in a few turns and had a barrack city with Workshop banking hammers for knights.
99% Atlantis would be mine be before he hit navigation. Just can't se how I could loose this.

You should definitly cancel all the game he played. There is no sense in not doing so. The guy is not in the tourney why would he have played game in it. You prefer people quitting the tourney then cancelling them???
I hope you are not doing that because you won the two and it puts you in front of other players... To appear clean you should just cancel them...
Finally played my 2 games with martin jones (mario). Game 1- His Arabs beat my arabs. He finds 7C really early. Around 3500 or 3400 bc. He also takes out greeks for demo at about same time. Then he gets India also. I could've easily had Russia with a HA after that but decided to concede. I wasn't close to 100 gold and nearest barb was far away.
Game 2- His England defeats my germans. I take aztecs after many attempts with a WA and also get zulu later with same march WA but he flips city on same turn with my army inside. He also got a GS from SoC and GS'es feudalism for cheap ancient era knights. I had nothing left going for me so gave in after he flipped city and got my only elite army.
I think it would be unfair to the people who have played him (including myself) to not count those games. the only other option i see is to CANCEL ALL GAMES and restart the whole tourney... but I will talk it over with the people who actually still play on ps3 and are in the tourney. seems every1 has an opinion. Will make a decision after I speak it over with the other 6 players who played. Ill take a vote and go from there.
well you can always get a recorder and record the game. but that is annoying to set up (and expensive to do properly but cheap to do in a ugly im not cheating way). But I always thought we had much better brotherhood in ps3 than in xbox with salmeen maddjin me, liam, jackH, HGB, sniperkill etc. i'd never have thought for an instant any of them would do anything dodgy.
maybe tournaments make people more likely to cheat just a bit -- there are so many ways to manipulate the game and ones first move into doing somthing dodgy might be sort of by accident, you know - like "it looks like an island - hmm ill call it now just in case... oh it wasnt.. hmmm".
I think the "brotherhood" is just fine on PS3. Im always in the chatroom and is pretty pleaseant. this tourney was a real success until disaster struck in the form of x-wise. He wanted to make the playoffs so bad and its pushed him to the darkside. Ive actually never had any issues out of him since ive known him. On another note not one of the guys you named is ever in the chatroom or playing anymore. Very rare to see them. now mostly its me, raven, mario, civ star, star(angellusfs6) doesn't like chatrooms. Some new guys also come around like ray tupper, aledeus,etc.
Dont get me wrong Japyaknees, between the regular people there is a very good brotherhood, but im mainly talking about the new guys. They seem to misunderstand tourney play on the forum for regular ranked where alot of freezing etc happens.
If we start a new tourney is civ wise going to be allowed in, again? Cause if so, i probably won't bother to join. If it happens once it's likely to happen again. Anyway, i was undecided on wether to vote for or against a new one. Until i realized it's actually going against rules to allow tourney to continue since it states "Every civ must be used once..."So if we continue 2-3 people don't have to do this.

First game of fresh tourney is my Spain against Civ Star's Greeks. I somehow come back and win after a terrible start. He takes out zulu early before i even settle. I didn't settle until 3200 bc with whale but only 2 water/trees. Civ-Star was right on me within a turn or 2 of settling with a WA and single warrior camping my trees. A friendly hut i got walking revealed to me that there was only 1 artifact in game. So i didn't mind so much settling inland. But, after a resynch later in game there were 3 or 4 artifacts all of a sudden. AI's got SoC and 7C while Civ-Star beat me to AoC on same turn. I lost my only galleon that wasn't trapped on a lake to his galley next turn. He got CoL pretty fast and expanded to at least twice as many cities as i did that i could see. I was in ancient for most of game and i actually horserushed with Spain. I rarely do that but it paid off this game. Took his market city on the same turn he got it with HA. He only had his free caravan in it...(continued, sorry)...
...Pressed his cap. Forcing him to build hoplites, legions, and roads. Took one of his secondary cities with same HA that took market city. Because of market, i was able to reinforce the main theatre of action with another vet HA and several archers. I took his cap and another city connected by road with my march HA and he called it. gg Civ-Star. Yet another game i was very close to quitting early on but stuck it out and tried a desperation attacked that worked out. I was lucky that your market appeared right where i needed it. Without it, i'm not sure i could've pulled this off.
Nice game Star, ive been playing alot of spain lately after Japyaknees made my desire for them grow lol! Finding a whale and 2 trees is so powerful, even if its at 3200. Its abit strange your game went on for quite abit and a HA could eventually seal the game, but i guess thats the way it is sometimes
That resync was awefull, pfff i really hate them to much.
