Can Civ 5 be re-installed on another PC?

I bought a Civ 5 disc from a friend. She had already installed it on her PC. When I came to install it on my laptop it only downloaded the Steam programme and then defaulted back to the desktop. It will not download the actual game nor will it set up a Steam account.

Any help with this one would be really appreciated.

It can only be played with the Steam account it was originally linked to. As long as you use the original account, you can install it to infinite PCs and play it, as long as you don't play it on more than one PC at the same time.

Big thanks for your reply, very much appreciated. Don't think I would be able to use the original account to install it as I bought Civ 5 secondhand after enjoying years of CivIV. Shame! Never mind - we live & learn.
