    Opinions on Multiplayer so far?

I so far reckon the multiplayer looks great but there is still plenty of room for improvement, the maps and weapon list are good, it be good if you could have attachments on weapons (suppressor etc), from what I've heard the perks and bonuses don't make a difference which should be fixed, character customization is good with all the variety, but it be better if you could change your lower body separate to upper so some people wont look exactly like you, but right now it looks great, you see the full travel of grenades, doesnt take a million shots to kill someone, hopefully they can add, change and fix some thing in the multiplayer so it would be epic

Of course perks make a difference, that's the point of them, there has been some info released in previews recently. If they don't make much difference that's a good thing IMO.

yeah I know perks make a difference, but an IGN video discussing the multiplayer said that only one perk made a difference and none of the bonuses were noticeable either

Invisibility cloak would make quite a difference, as would healing, armour etc, but I still think there is a lot to be said for not making things like perks too powerful, and from what I,ve seen and read the perk system has been designed to make you work as a team rather than turning you into a cod super soldier.

If that's the case I'm all for it

I like most of the game. But the looks of the characters are just plain stupid. Is it so hard to create normal looking soldiers? Instead of copying Army Of Two with the stupid masks they better designed different looks for special forces.

    The helmets just look retarded.

Don't like them either but they aren't that bad, and I guess they wanted a different look for the multi because of the damned/ exiles thing, they are soldiers gone bad after all, although it is a little too mad max for me.

I agree with you, but like I said, the IGN video said the boonuses you get from being close to your team weren't noticeable
some of what I'm trying to explain is in the video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rCaF730ZrvQ

Yes I saw that, painful to listen to they did say sprint was the only one they noticed which obviously only effects the player and the rest were subtle, which to me sounds like a good thing.

yeah, the only bad thing was when he mentioned that the bonuses (eg gunner damage bonus) didnt make a difference, if it doesnt make a difference people wont stay together like a team, and go solo like cod, so thats the one thing that they should defiantly fix for teamplay reasons

or maybe they just didn't see the sort of difference they were expecting, IGN saying they didn't make a difference really doesn't make a lot of sense, a little too early to be asking for fixes

I don't play a lot online but I did play MW1 for about 6 months and many of the perk combos were overpowered imo, balancing for team play can work both ways, until I've actually played it..... subtle seems the better option to me.

yeah true, i just want it to be noticealbe but not overpowered like you said, but it wouldnt bother me if it wasnt, im just hoping people stay as a team, but one thing they should change/ fix is character cutomise because i would want to change lower body and upper instead of the whole body together

Exclamation Buffs need to be upgraded....

Spec Ops the line looks cool but multiplayer worries me. They need to upgrade the buffs I mean I watch some multiplayer preview and when they activated the buffs it seem to do noting I hope they fix this because it may confuse the player I think there should be a icon that glows around your player in multiplayer so you and your teammates can tell when the buffs are active......... hope this helps bye Good Luck 2K & Yager

If you can use a buff that reduces explosive damage by 40% that does do something, it looks to me like the people playing the preview code were expecting them to work more like perks of recent games, if theyre trying to encourage team work with this system that could be a good thing.......

  15. #15
I know that. It's just I feel buffs do rarely anything I know that one class takes 40% less damage and one has more weapon damage when shooting at enemy's but at last everything feels the same. So buffs needs to be fixed a bit the only class and buff that works is the less damage taken on the zip line buff and the repair class that makes repairs 25% faster. I really hope 2K and Yager fixes it

Hope to see you all on Spec Ops:the line multiplayer Rock on if your pre-ordering it bros cya

Isn't it better to actually try something yourself before deciding it needs fixing? It might all work really well......

Like I said i think this is probably more to do with expecting buffs/perk to work in a familiar way and that can often mean over powered and unbalanced combos IMO.

I don't play a lot online other than co-op now but I would be interested in a well thought out and balanced game that focused more on team work instead of the usual ranked up super soldier that's the norm, they might look like they do nothing but that also means it'll be more about playing as a team and tactics, which is a good thing.

    Ok, dude
I know multiplayer is going to be great ok.... I know their going with the team/tactical gameplay and yes your right play something first then deciding things. A few tweaks should do it but when thinking the buffs are just fine. Hope everything pulls out great and SP:the line to be amazing game this summer cya

I've heard from IGN that Gav & Geoff said that the Multiplayer was pretty "dissapointing compared to the Campaign." Now I very much know that this game is gonna be great Campaign wise & Multiplayer Gameplay. I love the charachter Customization and Perks. Nnnd if u ask me. Multiplayer BETA looks Pretty good. It's fun and looks AWSOME, and i realized that there can be more things added i know BETAs are not Final Decisions, but if u ask me BETA looks great! But, ive been hearing theres been Problems, but from the looks and Videos ive been seeing. Perfectly Fine 2 Me. Thanks.

Boost for teammates is something almost no TPS does nowadays.
I played Future Solder beta and there was not a single boost for my team: the only benefit was staying close while hacking/interacting which something rather basic; in The Line you can throw ammo beacons, boost you team armor/accuracy/firepower and more.
Boosts might not be doing much but that's definitely better for me: having an "armor boost" that makes you & your team bullet sponges is something I don't want for sure.
The level of customization also seems great; in Future Soldier you can only customize you headgear = lame.
IGN also said that "perks have more subtle effect" but there's perk that lets you slow down enemies 20% with each shot: how can that be subtle!!? Really I already imagine how deadly a combination of that perk with a SMG could be: 5 shots and the enemy is slowed down 100% making him a easy target.

Here's also another pointless argument form IGN: "the multiplayer would likely be played by a small portion of the audience and so it's worth considering to give players access to everything from the start".
First: a small portion of the millions of Mass Effect 3/Gear of War 3 owners play online but I dind't hear IGN suggesting BioWare/Epic Games to unlock everything at start to compensate for that.
Second: unlocking items/weapons/perks is a great incentive to keep playing online so the idea of unlocking everything for the start is an "online-killer" rather than an "online-savior".
Also IGN saying "it sucks" because you can't do nothing/shoot while using a zip line is nonsense: you have two hands and you use them to grip the zip line: with what should we shoot/do somethign else, with feet?! There's a reason why the "IGNorant" joke still works perfectly.

I think the multiplayer looks pretty good. There seems to be a lot of customization and as opposed to most people i think the masks, bandannas and face paint on the characters looks cool.
