    Bioshock Poem

I just wanted to share a poem I had written for my poetry class to everyone on here. It is a imitation poem from another poet of which I cannot recall the name (let me know if you know it). Her poem was titled Opposite of War. Please enjoy and let me know what you think!

    Opposite of Freedom

    They wanted an escape,
    submerged in a gold-plated paradise,
that can only come from Rapture.

    The jolt, the spasm
of fire, ice, electricity under the skin.
    Imagine, the possibilities

    of the chain of innovation
    constricting, riveting without restrictions.
But they will sink, drown and decay.

    Nowhere to return
    to avoid the advances:
    incoherent rambling. Like water

spewing from the pipes. When does
It end? Flames flicker and flee
the fingertips. Anger igniting the fuse.

Fascism in the mind of parasites,
the host revels in his creation
turning a blind eye, letting it go.

Civil war is on the rise,
    rapture rise, flaws recognized
    enemies sprawled across Poseidon’s floor.

Dead bodies fill the sulfuric air,
    never obtaining freedom. The heavy
realization drags them to the ground.

    The vacant light teases. Look:
does it not remind you of home?
Suspended in a new dream, they stay like that

    forever, regretting their choice
    like an experimental subject
who signs up for a potential cure

only to leave with more than they bargained for.

Brilliant, vivid, intense and very clever.
Your poem describes it perfectly to me.
    Well done and thank you.
