Joining a special game

A friend of mine has created his own game and he can't invite his friends because the start screen is frozen if he pushes the button "Invite". Therefore he has given me the number and name of the game in which he is the only player.

But this game is invisible for me and all his friends. My question is now: What have I to do to join a non listed game by using the number of the game (73xx) or the name of the game (Axxxx)?

I hope that someone can helps with a hint.

Two things...

1) Make sure you are qualified to join the game (fame restrictions)
2) You can cycle through game options by successively joining and quitting games. This can be a lengthy process, but I wouldn't imagine more than a couple hundred active games to cycle through.
