    Unusual Question

Does quitting during a ranked match automatically give your opponent the victory, no matter what?

Was playing Read Bio 2K Sux the other night.
    Me Mongols , him France.
We get into warrior battles that saw us exchange capitals (and a barb hut) early, they last until 200AD.
I think he finds the first AI around 1100AD. By that time, AI China already has invention. (he also gets harrassed by an AI English horsearmy).
The AI has has the tech lead for a very long time.
He manages to find some room and can expand, and eventually catches up in tech around 1950AD.
I cramped and can't go very far, and eventually try a knight rush around that time, which failed.

Anyways, it was time to quit, but wondered if the game would gave the AI the win. I let just overrun my cities, since he did deserve it.

Oddly the game told me England was the winner.
    He would get the win.

My question is, if one of us had quit earlier, when China had a 22 to 7 tech lead, is it possible that the game would have awarded the win to the AI?

    Just curious....

Odd tidbit from that game, since I didn't have my own palace, I never did receive a great person.

That's a good question. I would have to think that the win would go to a human, since it's H2H, but that's never happened to me. Sounds like it was a fun, tactical game.

It was definitely fun at first.

It was around the 0AD point (11pm at night) that I kind of went for broke, made an archer army, and attacked his warrior army, 4.5 to 4.5
I lost, but the game still lingered on for an hour.

What the loss did was make it very unsafe for me to eventually make settlers and expand east. I think I was only able muster out 3 additional settlers (plus a very late 100g settler), and he eventually took one of those cities in a separate 50-50 battle with the elite WA I gave him.

What was really funny is that the AI was VERY aggressive towards him, and from what he said won a lot of battles against him that he should have won.

Made a lot of mistakes in that game. Shouldn't have researched HBR, when I had no gold, and Paris only had one tree, as did my barb city.
I should have gone with legions much earlier.
There were other dumb moves. Live and learn.

I agree with that it should go to the other human. I was actually hoping though we'd kick each other around so much that the AI would win a tech victory.

Heh, I remember playing one as Spain, doing pretty with lots of whale islands, but I lost my Cap. Was sitting at 140 odd culture points too.

I did, for a fraction of a second, consider 'buying' myself a GP. Builder would have been worth it, but the risk in getting an GA. GE, or GH was too big. think I bought some catapults instead.

I can't believe none of you dinks actually answered the question. If the game is unranked, it will continue until a victory condition is achieved. Since this was a ranked game, it would end as soon as only one human player was left and that player would be awarded victory. However, if an AI player is ahead in score at that point, the game would show that (AI) player as the winner to the player who was quitting or eliminated. The win still goes to the human.

I can't imagine how long the game would have to go for the wimpy AI to win any kind of victory. You'd probably have to either help it somehow or play well past 2000 AD.

Heh, yeah. We descend into chaos without you. Welcome back.
