    Max Payne

So, with Max Payne 3 set to launch on the 15th of next month and the original game launching on iPad and iPhone today, I figured this series needed its own thread. despite me being the only one talking about it

Max Payne is a dark, gritty, linear story-based 3rd-person shooter published by Rockstar. The last installment in the series was released nine years ago, and the series is finally getting a reboot. It looks fantastic, which is not uncommon for Rockstar's games.

Rockstar has a deal on Steam right now where if you pre-order the game, they give you a free copy of Max Payne 1 & 2 right away, and some early-access DLC when the game itself comes out. I've played MP1 and loved it, and I'm about a third of the way through the sequel. If you have a capable PC, I'd strongly recommend you jump on this deal. of course I wasn't paid to post this, why would you even say that?

If you have played these games before, or you're from the future and have something to say about Max Payne 3, this is the place to say it.

Max Payne & Kung fu mod was fantastic, do like the look of what Rockstar have done with 3 just hope it has a good story.

Will probably get the iPad version once I've seen a few reviews....

I hear it's pretty good, and, hell, it's only three dollars. I'm gonna buy it on my iTouch shortly.

I'm glad to hear that. I really hope they managed to keep the noir feel of the originals. It would appear that they have, but we won't know for sure until it's out.

Gotta be honest, the main reason I can't wait for Max Payne 3 is because then R* can move onto GTA V.

That's also an awesome part of Max Payne 3 coming out. I'd expect more news... say, a month or two after MP3 comes out.

Max Payne 3 needs a happy end. With a beautiful dawn or sunshine, killing the night. Max would walk into the day then.

Looks great, hopefully Rockstar have done the series justice, the original is still one of my favourite games.

It would seem that they've done a good job with the series. My only worry was that it wouldn't have the same old noir feel that the original had, but the newest trailer has pretty much absolved me of my fears.

EDIT: Turns out people are getting pirated copies of the game already. It's gonna be so hard to avoid spoilers until the 29th...

I liked the style of the first game, it was very original if a little odd at times, I'm hoping they've done a very good job on the story, have always wanted to see Rockstar move away from interactive playgrounds into more story driven games, it looks dark and gritty which it has to be really.

I'm not too worried about their execution of the game. At the moment, it looks like the greatest thing in the space-time continuum, but that's just me.
