Played today for the first time in two years. Had a good start, won 4 and lost 2. Then I meet a zulu player. Take his capitol and..yup, it freezes. I get no response on my messages. Made me remember why I quit playing in the first place. Somebody still got a freezer list? Please send it to me. Thanks.

I had a frustrating one the other day. I didn't recognize his gamretag, but he was a good player. We had a classic game going for at least an hour and a half. It went back and back and forth and we got to cruisers/bombers. I finally get it to turn my way and he freezes it. He went as far as messaging me to taunt the fact that he froze. I was surprised because he was a good player and I usually suspect cheaters to be lower level players.
I won't list his name as it is against the rules of the forum.

I don't know if you will find a list. Most people just mute the player and it shows up in the lobby next time so you know.

I hate to say it but most of the freezers are actually pretty good at the game....they escape being called out usually because you actually have to beat them....like in your situation glenn to actualy fnd out they freeze......thats why ive always said that you cant prove to me you are not a cheater by beating me....you have to lose to me fair to prove it....
yea i had a asshat all american player who is good at the game barb glitch me. i asked him to stop multiple times and never responded to me so i locked the game up on him. it got his attention. He said the only reason he did it was because he was america and had already won and wanted to get his rank up quicker since he just started ranking up. I had already got a walk in on egypt (HGB) at 3600 and he didn't even have his 100g. He kept asking for a rematch to prove he wasn't a cheater. how can you prove you are not a cheater when you already cheated me thinking you could get away with it. I don't put up with cheaters in ranked
I was frozen a couple of days ago after taking a cap. Obviously, I wasn't able to mute him at that point. But I don't want to play him again so I'll just have to remember his ID.
Is there even a way to mute someone on ps3? I mean i've done it after a game before but when i see that person in lobby again there's no mute symbol or anything to help me distinguish that it is a person i've already muted.
I just assumed there was—there's a mute option in the diplomacy window, but I've never actually used it because freezing ends the game and then it's too late to mute him.

Its annoyng seeing forum members go bad but he has picked up some bad habbits recently.....
yeah.. he beat me in a tourney game with spain i think back in the old days. I guess like the other guys he knows he is the best in the world and wants to quickly get past the formality of actually hving to win any games to prove it.

That's a shame because Matt is on my friends list and has never frozen me once. I used to play him on the playstation too and he frequented the chat room on there. For someone to be playing as long as he has and to still care about rank is a little lame. I think if you can't get in the top ten on either console in 4 years it's time to find a new game... :-)
A long time ago, Grayson mentioned that in a thread about Brent/Flash
Brent/Flash and his Aztecs obviously didn't have to freeze every game; he knew how to beat a lot of players early. Granted, it's not that hard with that particular civ.
When Grayson figured how to counter the freeze tactics Brent's mid to late game had some iffy spots - common in a lot of the Aztec/Zulu rushers - but that he knew what he was doing.
on xbox you actually mute them thru the players met menu on the dashboard (next to messages and friends). people muted there will show up as muted in the civ lobby.
Wow. Too bad ps3 doesn't have such a simple way to remember who cheaters are. I have like 3 pages of cheaters. Before a game, when other person joins lobby, i have to scan thru my list really quickly to make sure they aren't a cheater. Sometimes the other player doesn't have patience to wait for me to ready up and they leave before i can finish checking list.
Any chance you could pm me your list Star, i know its quite abit of effort, but after tonight being frozen 3 times in a match i was clearly winning, and the other person pausing, trying to communicate with me etc to make the game freeze ive had enough. Esp cause im playing on an account i want to rank up on, and i just cba to wait any cheater out.
I could do that, maybe. But, it would take me a while to type it out. I could give u 4 or 5 names a day or something. I'll go ahead and send u the first set of names. Keep in mind, though. They are not all freezers. Lots are demo/GW/Barb glitchers. There might be a a few habitual annoying x-rayers. Some are not cheaters at all but annoying or irritating in some way. Unfortunately, i don't have them all marked specifically as freezers, demo glitchers, annoying, etc...So don't assume all names i give u are actually cheaters. Most are though. I have a few marked "demo glitchers" but i stopped making a note of that after a while....

What is the barb glitch? I've got a fair list of freezers I think about ten of the names are actually the same person though, I came to this conclusion cause on the occasions where he did win legitimately I got the same message.... "PWND FAGGIT" I freely admit that I have frozen people but only when they have used a dirty tactic to get ahead, I generally don't wait out the opponent just leave it long enough to make them think (hopefully) it would of been quicker to just play normally.
we call it adar because we didnt discover it on the PS3 side we read it off the forums from the xbox guys. if xbox didnt exist we of course would be calling it X-ray.
That's pfdnanig. The so-called top ranked player, lol. He/she cheats if it looks like he's/she's going to lose. He/she has probably around a dozen accounts. I suggest u avoid him/her.
Ha ha I didn't want to name names but yeah that's exactly who it is, unless s/he gets a brilliant start and then messages you about how some people reckon s/hes the best player they have ever seen it mysteriously freezes, I try to keep an eye on the top 100 and just look at the w/l ratio if it's something silly like 50-1 I just won't play them, or the latest one I've seen 150-1.
