Now, given your list, would you be able to retro-fit civs into the timeframes which I've posted or list the 4-5 civs for each of the periods based on your knowledge and support the pick of a civ?

I do think that many of the current civs deserve to be represented, but some feel forced.

Now, if I am to interpret this correctly, you are saying that Poland cannot be represented by Austria/Germany/Russia, that Poland has many good achievements, that just because Europe has tons of civs while the rest of the world has barely any, and that because of the many injustices perpetrated against Poland on this Forum, and the injustice of Poland having never been in a civ game, that Poland should be a civ.

Under this argument Austria would have black and gold, but honestly distinctifying between a "orangey yellow" and "gold" is like seeing differences in "maroon" and "dark red". Not that different.
There is always the fallback of changing/darkening Russia's brownish-orange; it would be better than leaving Austria with an icon that is Polish. I have no problem with the colour per se, but the colour combined with the icon is a problem.
Red and yellow are colours that held great significance for the ancient Chinese; red is auspicious and used extensively even today, while yellow was the imperial colour (as purple was for Rome). Certainly, this would have been much more appropriate than green/white.

Then Germany should be in the Modern category as well - with their WW2 Panzers.

    Eh.

The bit with cavalry charging the panzers? That, IMO, is and should be a point of PRIDE. None of the cavalrymen expected to survive that battle - they KNEW the german armored units (and MG-wielding infantry_ were going to turn them into so much ground meat.

But they went out and attacked ANYway ... not out of desperation, nor pride, nor any such hogwash. No, to BUY MORE TIME FOR CIVILIANS TO FLEE.

That is, IMO, the ultimate expression of a soldier's duty. Those men were heroes. Completely frelling doomed ... but still heroes.

They're the Polandball comics. They usually poke fun at Poland's attempts through history to be a long-lasting, powerful empire and often faltering. It also pokes fun at how everyone makes fun of Poland behind it's back (supposedly). It's a joke. It doesn't indicate love or hate for Poland, he's just trying to bring some laughter into the thread. Which it has. I love the Polandball comics - it's a shame they're so rare.

Actually, the idea that the Polish cavalry charged tanks is a myth. They used them very effectively in flanking attacks on German infantry, not suicidal charges on tanks. Consider how devastating a light cavalry charge on unprepared infantry would be.

I am curious if there are Judeball, Blackmenball or Germanball. I have funny joke:
Jew, Negro, and a German born sons (all the same).
The nurse forgot to mark them and did not know who is whose.
    - Excuse me, gentlemen, but I do not know who is whose because I forgot to mark. Please enter gentlemen maybe you will know.
    The Jew enters and leaves:
    - All the same I have no idea.
    The Negro enters and leaves:
    - I thought mine would be black, but, however, he's not. I have no idea.
Germany enters, leaves with the child in his arms and says:
    - This is mine, that's the Jew and that one the Negro.
    - How do you know?
    - I went in and said "Hi Hitler". My has straightened up, a Jew has crapped and the Negro has cleaned up the shil☺☺☺☺.

    It's funny, isn't it?

Pretty much this. I'm completely neutral in this debate.

If anyone else is really addicted to EU3 here's a good one.

Where is the moderator? I think that this post deserve a ban for yqt1001. I thought that spreading of national hatred is not allowed on this board.

This comic might be funny only to the primitive, low-educated people.

Okay, general warning - if you need a mod to do something, report the post (as some of you have) or PM one of the moderators online. You can find out who's a moderator by checking the "forum leaders" link at the bottom of the main forum page.

Second - get this thread back on topic. Please don't post images that derail a thread or take it off topic. It's against the forum rules you all agreed to when signing up.

Third: insults, whether racial or personal, aren't accepted here. Don't do it - it's not nice.

That said, let's get back on topic, please.

I've seen much worse. I am not offended, and I am a large part Polish. I laughed to be honest. It's funny that you get offended when you see this cartoon. It's a joke treat it as such. Me? Well I was born in Macedonia, and I am to ashamed to say that I was most of the time. Those people get ridiculed everywhere. Again, you don't see me whining about it.

About that racist joke Karol22 told, hell, I'm a large part German to! My grand father was apart of the Whermacht. I was born Macedonian/German and Raised American Polish. I don't get angry when someone insults me, or my family line. I don't because when I tell a joke I expect the same kind of treatment.
