Lost two to Liam... Romans vs Indians he got 7 cities of gold and AoC which led to him out teching me... And eventually having cruisers. Second game I get pottery from friendly on second turn and then found I was on a long peninsula. I took out Russia but Liam got the French and eventually the Spanish. I didn't have a lot of gold and he got irrigation to push him ahead in tech to knights. He had 11 ka's and I had only 5 la's in which he converted 3 of the them in Moscow along with a a leadership gg AA. Gg's!

Yeah it was one of the oldest tricks in the book to attack retreat attack retreat 5 times to upgrade you before the flippage!! Irrigation bonus was massive that game. I could go for it straight after france getting pottery whilst still building elites. Then 4 pop Berlin with 4 trees is 12 hammers = 2 elites per turn with added rush costs. They weren't giving me medics or scouts either!? ;-)

Anyways, keep on eye open liam.....hes only two games back and theres still 18 games to be plaed.....1 more week and we hit the halfway point.....never thought we'd make it....

Denied: I'm not available all weekend sorry as I'm giving my sister away tomorrow (for free!!?) and will be nursing an immense hangover on sunday before going to play in national 8 ball finals at night. Monday I probably won't know what day it is so let's shoot for tues?? Ta.

So hows this week goin fellas not much chatter here. I know 2 of the games have been played and the 3rd(me v duke) is waiting on duke to get back from vacation. So how about the other 3 this weeks deadline is approaching fast!
i'll have no problem catching up to mawpawk this weekend, as long as he's not on vacation or something. if you see this maw respond. i'd like to randomize our bottom tier matchups with you.
got my games in with mawpawk, splitting 1-1. each time the mongols defeated the russians. in the 1st his mongols grabbed 7 cities in the 1st 10 turns, as well as kyoto. paris fell to them not long after. i played a very lazy game, eventually taking arabs, but it was too little too late. he already had cats to mop up my meager holdfast without much trouble.
in the next i couldn't have started better, taking 3 pop tripoli for religion, then nabbing london a few turns later. he claimed madrid around the same time. i had a march WA and vet HA on the prowl when he dropped a HA and took london. i figured no problem, i sent an AA, along with the WA and HA, and attacked from a hill. no wound at 9-15, then the WA gets a single wound at 12-15. my blitz HA proceeds to lose 18-12. overall in this game i got the better of the battle luck. i got a gg for the WA and spent the next few hundred years trying to hold my other cities from his HA. he got a galleon fleet but eventually i was able to spit out a couple settlers for dye cities and got feud. once i got some KA's out there i slowly began to regain control. i eventually got london back, then used a gs on steam around 1000 ad. he gave in at this point. i got to his turf a few turns later and saw that he did it all with mirrors. the fleet and HA (that eventually died in london) was all he had. if i hadn't been slowed to defend his galleon attacks i would have rolled thru moscow and madrid a couple thousand years earlier. gg's maw.
Not too shabby, Ive always thought that the Mongols have that luck factor like poker, you either hit it or you dont. Sounds like you both hit it early making those mongols pretty tough to beat--i think mawpawk is trying to make things exciting, hes waiting till the end of the season to put on a mawpawkesque streak and make the playoffs....hey not bad dan....3-1 over your last 4, keep that win-loss ratio up and you will be in the top 3 prety darn soon

Got my games in with prey. We split 1-1. My French beat his Russians and his French returned the favor. 1st game I had a decent start, but can't remember the details. I think it took a while for me to take 2 caps, but prey was not doing much due to bad location. Then we meet at the British AI, my 2 HAs vs. his one and I kill his and he concedes.
2nd game: Really bad start for me. Walked, but found no trees, AIs and my entrance to the mainland was blocked by a barb. Moved back and settled in a balanced spot (took like 8 turns). Saw the Chinese AI, tried with a late, non-vet HA but lost to a single legion. IN the meantime Prey was doing his thing, getting 100g, one cap and working on the Arabs when I called it.

Not at the moment. If somebody drops out you could take over their record and finish the season but we are on week 7 out of 16 at the moment.
Ade or prey could you let me know when you are planning on getting on today. I know that maniac is on playing right now, he said he will be on for the next 5 hours or so, so let me know when you can play and Ill relay the message or just hop on and handle it.
That just leaves myself and Duke, who just got back in town, and ITZ and Packrat. If ITZ upsets packrat with the sweep he will be tied with mawpawk at only 1 game behind prey for the 3rd playoff spot in division 2. Do you guys think you could get the game in soon it would be cool if this weeks games can end by today so we can start up week 8 which tees off history month. Lots of fun grudge matches.
Yes it will be, but to Da X, uuuuummm I think Itz Deni3d may drop out and you can take his place. Deni3d I hope don't drop but in the end I would like to put some games down on record I whupped that azz!

So whats the deal on Islands now? I say it is automatic default if it isn't or just no island restarts at all. What is it going to be?
Players calling islands have to verify the island before calling it. You can verify if you want. If everyone in the league wants to vote on it we can always just go and say no restarts ever for islands.
I'd say no island restarts ever. If not then it has to be verified and if it isn't I think it should be an automatic default. If someone is willing to risk the possibility of it not being an island then they should have to risk something as well...
They need to try to get together tomorrow at some point. I know maniac is usually on in the early afternoon est time.
I beat ITz 2-0
first game russia mirror match.
he gets aw for gp early and switches to fundy. I take out egypt and get oracle. i walk arround with a caravan which gets taken from me by ITz's horse. great 12 gold and he beats me to a barb between us but I do know now he was quite far away. he techs hbr and hits his 100g soon after. he attacks my warrior army on a hill about 6 tiles from egypt cap and kills it. I start preparing for his eventual attack. i put 2 warriors on a tree and bring my vet warrior army up to egypt cap. he attacks first warrior and wins uninjured. 2nd attack he wins but gets injured and is now on my tree but i attack with my wa and take out infiltration ha. next turn he kills my wa with his march ha but gets injured and I bring my non vet horse army up and destroy his 2nd ha. he switches to republic and starts to expand while i build a barracks and get iron working. I get a galley and load up 3 vet la and the vet ha and set sail towards his territory. I take out one of his cities and find another settler walking defended by an archer which he ends up selling. I press on by land and by sea walking some of my armies. he gets SoC for 2 GH. I eventually find his main territory and find out he has been expanding to an island behind him but to get there I have to go through a gauntlet of boats. he attacks my boat 1-1.5 and i win. he rushes another boat but i get to attack first and since i had oracle i win this battle. next turn I unload my infiltration horse army and aa on his island and he trys one more time after i unloaded my armies and attacks my empty boat and looses 1.5-1.5 boat battle and concedes. I was going to be picking up 3 more legion armies with my boat next turn and picking off his island cities. GGs
2nd was a french mirror match
i get a friendly at 3900 and we see each others settlers from separate hills. he walks in the same direction I do and exhausts his settlers and I settle and take his settlers at 3800. very quick game
Actually the first boat was vet it was 1.5-1.5. I got injured twice with 2 different armies with nearly 4-1 odds, that really sucked. I had no hope of getting an Ai, but it wouldn't of mattered if any of my boats would've held up or if I got 1 scientist. But my galleon probably would've lost anyways so GG lol.
I've lost track was I supposed to play Denied before sunday or is that this week? If it's this week then I will be free to play tonight. Did I play multi early last week or something?

The only game from last week that we are waiting on is ade vs maniac......all other games have till this coming sunday night to be finished...there should be a date on the schedule for each week...that is the date that respective week should be completed

I know, I was just giving you crap Grizz. Relax! I had such an advantageous start I could have won however I pleased. I just thought cannons were the most fun at the time!
I've just switched my broadband supplier and I may not be online for the next few days I'm afraid whilst the "changeover" occurs...
