JUst played Ade. I won 2-0.
First my Greeks beat his Indians. I get 25g and take Paris in 3600BC. See AoC close by. Get 3 warriors out. Tech Hbr and get 100g. Find his Indians far to the west. We have a little standoff at his choke point. I kill some archers and his WA knowing that he has a HA waiting behind the lines so I cannot break through. I put my HA on a boat and sail around. Get a GA from culture, flip one of his cities and unload my 2 HAs and he concedes.
2nd game: I start on a large island, but had access to 3 barbs. Get 100g, tech Hbr, get a galley out and see that he is right across on the mainland doing the 2 city strat. I get my 2 HAs over , steal a settler from the Aztecs, tech to 5 techs and take the Aztecs and Japanese out. I am first to Writing and use the spy to destroy his courthouse. So no production for him. I expand nicely and he calls it

Don't know what else I could do really ? In the first game you pinned me down on a peninsula. I took out the arabs, but didn't get fundy. After the flip I was lost.
Second game started good as I got 100g in no time. But when you came with 2 HAs and "stole" the Aztec settler I was fighting for it was pretty much done. Had to use my gold on hoplites and again I was pinned down due to map and your two HAs. Still, good games !
Beat Itz our first game. My Arabs his Spanish. He started on a large island but wanted to go with it. I ended up taking all 3 AI caps. He came with legions but I had way too much of an advantage and kill them with 2 cat armies and a vet HA (with +1 attack from industrial bonus).

My horse from my barb couldn't do any damage to him 3-5. My vet WA got double injured taking my last barb so I had to heal it twice on my way up instead of unloading it with my AA and horse. My AA lost 4-5 and WA lost 2.25-3. Had to get lucky on one of those but couldn'tThen the AI Aztecs wouldn't give me religion even though they only had a WA in their cap with duke's vet fundy HA outside, if I could've got religion it would've been a different game. GG
Yeah, I had a lot of things go my way. Would have been more fun if you had gotten Religion but I think I still would have won. I had about a 45 tile lake that I was building settlers on.... and a 3 desert, spice, trading post city. About 12 cities when you attacked me. And I had an GA. I was just too far ahead... making about 75 science a turn and not in Demo.
i'm on every night around 9:30 pm pst. poker game sat night, but if we don't meet tonight then sun or mon. for sure.

Beat Denied my spanish vs his arabs. I got english and mongols and we was stuck on a bad piece of map. I also got 100g in 3300.
@Multi: I will be away for the weekend, coming back Sunday night. I could probably do 5 pm EST.
@Dan: Can we play either Monday, Wednesday, or Thursday this week?
Week 11 doesn't have a theme so I will just catch up after my vacation if that is OK. Otherwise, I need a theme ASAP so Packrat and I can play.
I finally got my games in with Maniac I won 2-0
1st game i was greeks vs his indians
got a galley from first barb and was able to galley drop rome for CoL and defend vs his wa walking my way. made 5 settlers just ready to settle at 5th tech when he lost his fundy ha against germans who i sold democracy to a single pike 9-7.5 and quit but it was pretty much over anyways
2nd game
my indians got a walk in on arabs and got fundy took out his attempt at a choke point with my warrior 2-1 and then got a walk in on his cap
Come on guys we can get a whole 8 manfinished in 3 days but we cant play two games a week in for the civ league. its thelast day of the week and 1 single game has been played by itz adn duke. Lets get this back on track. Get your games in today fellas or im going to start handing out forfeits to get this back on track. Well still 2 games is lame people are starting to let me down..
Just played my games vs. Multi.
1st game my Arabs vs. his Spanish. I walk for 2 turns, pick up a friendly and see russian borders by mountains about 6 tiles away. I decide to settle in a nice inland spot by a lake for tactical reasons instead of heading straight for the russians. While I am working on a barb, Multi takes the Russians - aha. My 1st warrior finds the Indians. So I wait for them to grow to 3 and take them while I sent another WA towards the Russians, taking 2 barbs in the process. When I get there, Multi already had an AA up ... Next turn he finds 7 cities - oh oh! So I expand a bit from my cities and get a GH. He kills my WA by Moscow later, sacrificing a LA of his. So he is going the aggressive route w/ galleon support. He tries a double-move on my inland cap, but I catch it and rush an archer during the last second. I see the Aztecs but dont manage to take down the Aztec AA, so I put my HA and WA on a galley and sail around the continent, looking for some surprise attacks. He gets AoC. I manage to find a nice 6 tile island with 2 4 pop cities of his and 2 hills. I unload, but he notices it and continues his turn and rushes some legions. I overrun one and then attack with the WA, get injured but win. He attacks my WA with a legion and loses. So his one city is empty. But I attack the other city from the hill with my HA. Next turn I take the empty city with the WA, attack the other with the HA, get march, attack again and take it down. Nice! I plant 2 more cities and use the GH. Multi rushes the GW, but does not enforce peace. Unloads and AA, 2 LA and a militia on a hill on the island. I attack the AA with my WA and win - yeah! Then the HA takes out one LA and Multi calls it. REM018 wins.
Even with the GW, I do not think that he would have come back in time since I was on my way to Engineering anyways.
MultiPlayaBeast vs Rem018
First Game: Multi:Spanish and Rem0: Arabs
I got a very good start, take out the Russians, find 7cog and AoC. I then meet Rem's Arab WA and they perched on a hill outside of Moscow. Meanwhile I get a GS from culture but never use it. Rem is minding his own biz the whole game and then he shows up near two of my cities with a WA and HA both vet on a hill outside my two cities on a island. He takes them out and I try to get them back fundy pretty ended that. He sneaked around fromt he bottom of the map to find me and I didn't care to search down there till late. On his side he had like 6 or 7 cities including his and a AI cap. He then used a GH that really put him in the game... I can't believe the way he played that as I got comfortable and didn't even pressure him.

Second Game: Multi=Arabs and Rem0=Spanish
We meet early but he names a tile. I run away and he chases until he settles near whale. I keep running away and name me a tile but it was too late and he was attacking barbs by then. I settle near the French but I get double injured at a barb across river twice and by the time I get me a WA out to mess with the French, he takes out the English. I didn't see how I could win that and didn't even won't to try as I was already frustrated at how I messed up a 7cog start.

Game 2, my Spanish vs. Multi's Arabs.
Our settlers meet at the end of turn 2 without gold. I am 95% certain that the tile one south is a naming tile (desert). So I hurry beginning of the next turn and got rewarded with 20g - So my mighty Spanish settler starts chasing his fundy settler ;-) I chase him for about 2 turns and during the 3rd turn I find a nice whale plus 2 tree spot and settle. He runs away south to nicer land. I take down 3 huts and meet the English. Tech to Hbr and take London for Monarchy in 2400BC after buying BW from them. Multi calls it. Pointless even as Arabs. Walked too long, no barbs left in the area he knows and whale/dye islands for me. REM018 wins.

Game 1: my Arabs vs preys Spanish
Nothing much to say really. I settled in 3300 without encountering any AI's. Long story short, after taking out the English while loosing a HA to both Germany, Chinese and Prey I quit. He was miles ahead in tech and was aiming for tanks.
Game 2: my Spanish vs preys Arabs
He got unlucky. I settled with whale and had my 100g early. Beat him to two barbarians and took out his WA when he was attacking China. He also told me he lost a WA to Egypt and had 0 gold, so nothing much to do as I allready had started to settle on whale islands.
Itz, let me know when you can play. I'm back in Copenhagen, so I have a lot of spare time
Whenever, think we have to wait for others to finish their games.
I dont want people getting this idea in their head. I would like to be able to play this way but I dont want to get behind so you never have to wait for last weeks games to be finished to play the current week. Its getting about time I started handing out forfeits for not playing the previous weeks games.....Im giving maniac a forfeit for not completing last weeks and not posting or explaining why he missed the games, I know mawpawk was on at the same time and messaged him and I messaged him about it as well with no response. If he gets his games in before tomorrow(Wed) they will count. Multi you can relay this if you want if not its gonna stand.
On a side note.....if the cwis/maniac spot fails to work out im just giving forfeits for the whole season instead of finding a new replacement because the record cant compete anymore, thats the fairest way....although I hope they continue to play....if that happens I will play in his place so nobody has to take a bye week but you will still get the wins.
As of now all week 8 games have been played or counted and I will do the writeup tonight. Good luck on week 9 fellas.

I made a small typo.....just so we are clear we are on week 10 and it is to be completed by sunday night. Everybody in this league is intelligent...the date each week is to be completed is listed on the schedule so there should be no confusion. I look forward to seeing how this weeks games turn out....

i'll try to be early but 9 pst is normally the best i can do without risking marital strife. did we come up with a theme for next week yet? i was thinking maybe the english v zulu conflict might be worthy. it would seem a mismatch for the zulu but that adds to the competition. a split will be the norm, and anyone getting a sweep gains an edge.
Plan on 9 pst. I can promise 1 game... we will see about 2.

Hi Digi, sorry I am moving house soon so didn't renew my gold membership but can then did it with a 48 hours code thingy I got for filling out a survey online! I prob can't do tonight or tomorrow night (England are playing on fri) but will be free all weekend. Sorry for not seeing your messages. I noticed Multi had also messaged me asking me if I wanted to join the new 8 man tourney which I missed out again because I didn;t see the message till too late.
