Spoke informally with some of the 2K guys during E3 (including one who worked on Civ
Rev) and it looks like there are no plans for a CivRev2 at the moment. The vibe I got was a "never say never" but highly unlikely any time in the near future. I do think there are individuals at 2K that would enjoy making this sequel but doesn't seem in the cards right now.
P.S. You contributors are awesome. The CivRev forum members make the 2KForums what they are for me. Helped my game tremendously (though I haven't been brave enough to tackle multiplayer on a regular basis) and I hope we get this sequel in the future.

Sad.
I wish they would port the console version over to the iPad 3 at least so I can enjoy it mobile.
Here's one: if I'm building pikes in a city and I finish researching gunpowder, for the love of Gandhi, that city should automatically start building riflemen instead of asking me what to do.
I was just reading in the WSJ about how the US is investing more in cyber-warfare, which made me think that Civ Rev could use cyber technology in the late game---something along the lines of being able to take out your opponent's electronic, communication, energy, and nuclear abilities so that basically they lose one turn. Would be great in the late game, which means this technology would mostly be used in the first year or two of playing until players find a way to shorten Civ Rev 2 games as they did with Civ Rev.
Perhaps China should have a naval bonus.... Right now I'm reading through Henry Kissinger's book On China and he writes that as early as 960-1279 China led the world in nautical technology. And by the time of the Ming Dynasty between 1405 and 1433 China's fleet dwarfed the Spanish Armada (still 150 years away) in terms of size, sophistication, and number of vessels (p. 9).
So if Spain gets naval advantages, it would make sense that China would as well!
Guys,
This is a redundant thread. I have bumped the original thread from 2009 discussing this topic. Please add your ideas to that thread so it's all in one place. Sorry for being nitpicky but it's good for organization purposes. Here is a direct link to that thread as well: http://forums.2kgames.com/showthread...-for-CivRev-2-)
thanks & best regards,
