settle on 2nd turn and take down a 1 flag barb for a galley and KT location 2 tiles away , grizzs warriors take out japan(i think) my knights see his vet WA on a hill so im guessing i force his hand 2 defend up instead of explore, im teching BW and have a few warriors out but the real deal was sealed when i sold my galley and made a new 1 2 galley drop kyoto . win

again i settle on 2nd turn for the 1 flag barb and get 40gld which i use for a galley as i see the KT(droneagain nt sure what grizz is doing during this game but iv teched bw first and choked off my side of the map with vet archers and taken out the romans for Col, have enuf money 2 rush a galley and sneak up on grizzs 100gld city with the help of my trusty march geegee. win
its about here that grizzley requests a best out of 7 as he felt the first 2 games were a bit ..lopsided i totally agree and accept the idea
my russia vs indians.
my local map dosent show me nuthin but a barb down and 1 above i take the 1 above me for the 1 flag again for 30gld +the location of the kt, but i now noticed grizz has settled 4 tiles south east of me so im in trouble as i see hes settled with gold and taken out my barb, so im forced 2 waste all my gold and gaurd up , and slowly hammer out a galley ...tick tock. grizz takes the romans out for col(lucky him as he had cattle by his cap) im still hammering.. eventually get that dam KT and make it 2 the mainland 2 take a couple of barbs(horses by now as its so late) but i still manage 2 take out the arabs , i also get 7cog but its all 2 slow and grizz has been stockpiling legions and archers and before i get 2 spend money he slickly galley drops my 100g city and multiple attacks my 18def archers for the win. l lose
egypt vs egypt.
i concede quite early in this game as i had 1 tree an oracle an grizz killed my only warrior out in the field, +he had colossus and i had no chance of messing with him. lose
my indians vs enland.
i settle on my 3rd or 4th in land (no sea tiles only desert)turn by a barb when i spy sum orange borders, luckily i get a spice resource from the barb, but my 3Warrior attack at beijeng failed so i retreated , i think from there the game was set and doomed for me as later my HA also lost 9-5 vs the chinese and then later anotha HA an double legion fundy fueled attack also lost meanwhile grizz had an easy ride over the other side, i think i would have conceded even if i did take beijeng. lose
Greek mirror match.
interesting start for me as i settled in land again with access to only 3 water tiles! crazy right? it just felt like the right thing 2 do, luckily for me it meant grizz and his galley couldent dropp me but did land a warrior outside my empty cap real early luckily i had enuf gold 2 rush a warrior and knock his guy into dust(it was injured) so we are obviously close and i have all but 2 barbs my side of the map but thats enuf for me 2 get my 100gld earlier than him and my original idea is 2 get aggresive back and as i have already teched HB i settle this city in land aswell.
there is a 2 tile choke point between me and grizz and i manage 2 plant a hoplite outside his city(wasted 2 turns doing this move as i dumbly went 2 anarchy and switched backed into demo which i never needed), im sure grizz had the best part of the mainland and had a wonderful time getting barbs and destroying zulu.
i worked apples after HB so athens squeezed out a settler which made it to the water from which we built a galley for the HA 2 sneak around back, but that idea got side tracked as i met the tokugawa and took his city instead, a barb up from that city showed me SOC so i hammerd another galley to grap that and hopefully dump my HA somewhere of use.
GA and GH i notived grizz was bee-lining cats(as per usual these days) and was dangerously ahead in tech when i dropped my HA outside his most awesome barrack city(oak 3 hills,workshop) with my own pike army defence, next turn i attack a single pike and win but he has another in there i guess and builds a road from anotha city 2 PikeA up leaving that city empty, heres where i ask my GA friend what to do? and he says "Flip his candy a$$!) pretty much game right thurr . VICTORIOUS WIN

You left out your Rome vs my Japan, not sure why as that was one of the two games that we felt we really earned. Also, I remember you saying "Do you want to do a best of 7, then request it"...so I did as that was a no brainer with me being down 2-0.....funny I would win the next 3 in a row....Also in the last game I could have sworn you had 70% map control. I never even made it south east and there was nothing southwest. thats why you killed me to your 100 gold, because I never found anything. I was at the end of a long elbow peninsula which zulu was at the elbow of. I thougt I was going to get the galley drop but then losing that warrior and wasting the gold on the galley slowed me down. You tzking out berlin early was key. I felt like I finally tied it up when I took out zulu but you took out japan the same turn. I pressured him with a march HA to slow him a bit. Almost took a city but decided to just kll his HA instead since he had roads and legions. Then I got real slick with my city placement on expansion and popped irrigation with like 7 or so well placed pike defended cities....one with 3 hills and oak which got the workshop bonus. I put a barracks in there. I was actually pulling a play from maws book, the plan was cats on galleons(which he got the bonus for) and then fundy knight armies to clean up the mess. Anyways I had come from behind and in my mind felt as though I had outplayed him in this specific game. Anyways, he took advantage of what he had better than me I suppose because he used his GH to boost his cities which just evened that out a bit since I had irri bonus. Then he used that stinkin GA he got from his SoC to flip the only city that would have changed things. My 3 hill workshop barracks city that would allow me to rush a cat a turn for cheapo when I got the tec next turn. Anyways my plan is to get cats next turn and put abeatdown on his pikes and ha standing outside my awesomely defende city. Instead he flips it that turn and uses my own pike army to take my other city which had close to 3 cats worth of production saved. That pretty much ended it right there. I got the free cat in mycap next turn but it wasnt even elite so it was no chance to his highly defended cities. Oh well nicely done pawk, you took the advice of that GA well and did the one thing that you could do to win the championship. The one thing....I guess thats what being a champion is right....do what needs to be done at the right time.....well done Pawk...2012 championgrand final
