no offense to anyone i delete after a tourney. my list has been in the 90's for some time. until they let us go over 100 i will have to keep doing it.
brutal start to this for me, going 1-8 against blades, maw, and liam. my only victory was an egypt w/useless oracle vs blades arabs.
3 games with Mawpawk.
1. My arab v Egypt (henge)
One of my more frustrating starts. I walk finding not much. First warrior double injured at barb and meet Pawk. Heal/heal/double injured again. ffs. I eventually had to take down 5 flags for 30 bloody gold. Far too slow a start, 'pawk GB's the colossus, I try in vain to beat Greek pikes getting an infiltration army but lose it. GG. pawk wins.
2. My Egyptians vs His Arabs.
I get a non working oracle. Meet the spanish but they rush a warrior at 3100 and I lose 1v1.5. Mawpawk unloads a warrior army outside thebes early. Thats always game over, but I stuck around to try. Managed to hold him back for a while getting some legions together, but he had a horse army coming anyway. GG 2-0.
3. A lengthy zulu mirror match. I get the better start taking Tenochtitlan but I abandon that for 4 pop Beijing. I eventually flip tenochtitlan back when I'm sure I can keep it. Irrigation and CoL first ensure I get a jump on Pawk. Finish with knights. (after a re-invite, that pawk agreed to play out. Cheers. gg & 2-1 to 'Pawk.

Yeah, Egypt v Egypt was tough. I could see your settled thebes with my settlers and not a lot of options of where to go so just settled and went for it. A slim window of opportunity that I just missed I think. Relativley pleased with the way I played this one (other than losing!), gave it my best shot.
Zulu/Zulu - Probably shouldn't have started this when limited for time, but I figured 45 mins would have been enough. Grizz got Thebes in 3600bc I think then I got Tripoli in 3400bc. Grizz then gets the Pyramids from Ankor to negate my Fundy advantage. We trade a couple of impi armies then its all quiet. He spits some ancient settlers in Republic while I have to tech it. He Gs'd Knights while I Gs'd Monarchy. We both had a few cities out. Might have been quite a good game, I was sitting on 2 GP still, But I gess your knights may have just been a couple turns too fast for me.
I look forward to the Arab match.

Well if he post back here I can add him in again, just a bit odd, he seemed super excited about getting in on a tourney then nothing further and blanked his first opportunity against Grizz? Fair enough if he didn't want to play at that moment, but a message saying so would have been nice but I guess maybe i've even been guilty of that in the past if i'm in the thick of a game.
Not sure if serious, but that's BS. Who are we to discount anyone on skill level? Even if he has just started MP, we all have to start somewhere, and he'll improve faster playing good players, or maybe he's good enough already.

Lost two against Scottie.
First was Arab mirror. We start close and as usual he out-smarts me in the warrior battles (after doing something weird with the KT).
Egypt mirror was a longer game. I got Colossus, but only had 1 desert and far from ai's, he got the mighty henge and delhi. We both kinda played it safe, he came on the attack first, taking a couple of cities, I got one back with knights. I loaded some force on a galleon to go see if I could cause some damage, bu he sunk it with a cruiser when I arrived. GG.
Faced Mawpawk and lost 1 to 2
First game Maw was Zulu and I was Egypt (Oracle). I take out the russians but pretty much that is where it all ended for me. I was in a area locked in by a choke point with the Russians and by the time I see the choke point it has a barb blocking to get to the rest of the mainland. I see it has been attacked so I'm sure it is Zulu. From there he gets a caravan and spots me in the choke, so he defends his warrior to keep me from going farther. From there Maw finds AW which puts him in republic and then KT... time goes by me trying to get my 100g from the sea and I was waiting for my gp but in the end it was all in futile because the game was his.
Second game I was Arabs and Maw was Egyptians. Maw got collosus... I move and settle next to barb. Take it out and encounter Maw. Barb tells me where 7cog was at so I'm happy but on same turn I take out barb... Maw came from another direction with a horse. The horse kills warrior and I been rushed another warrior but he is not in cap. Next turn would come down to a button race but even my winning I would have to defend against 2 to my 1.5. I lost...
Third game I was Zulu and Maw Arabs. I found Maw at 3800 bc with a warrior. 3700 bc I move to see it cap it empty but it was defended. We have some warrior battles but I decided to leave him alone and take over Russia. I then went down to English but they somehow got a archer without gold in 2700 bc. I find AW and I have GW. That pretty much ended the game for Maw then. He stayed waiting for his gp but I guess it wasn't a good one because he sent the message gg. I took out Delhi on a island too.
first section of the game I secured a section of map with scouts etc and preped for a single HA level attack. then I raced to col because i didnt want you to have colossus and a trading post. then did a 5 tech settler pop when i saw you break 5 tech and targeted nav to control the seas. I got a GB and then saved it because i wasnt sure if I wanted GW or EITC (or Sams). In the end you GS'd invention so I guessed engineering was easy for you to get and i GB'd EITC and stole einvention from one of your cities.
I then gunned for steam so I could again restore sea control.
I also sent spies after the 2 ai gp, a GA am a GS. the japs had a gs - mgiht have been worth you targeting that. In the end it gave me industrialization.
then my warrior spotted your galleon coming and so there were cruisers waiting for it when it arrived as well as quite a lot of gold in the bank (worked all gold)

won 1 lost 2 against scottie, nothing very exciting on the losers side 2 report except that the winner in all 3 games had way 2 much power

I did kill his first WA though - so if mawpawk had been a noob that would have been an auto win heh.
in last one settled close to greece with HG egypt - knew I had the walkin so i waited to pop a barb for a caravan. also spotted 7c0g.
so when i got the walkin on greece i was able to rush a galley and take 7cog same turn. Also found where pawk was a couple of turns later (and I dont think he could see where I was).
Used some barbs to get maths and after that played it safe - so game over.

1st game. Me zulu Him Egypt (HGB) I won
I get walk in on france and our warriors meet same turn at 3300. I get 2 warrior armies at his cap by 2100 but i notice he has teched BW so i camp his desert squares, he has land locked himself and i continue to take barbs for spys or tech and eventually get my 100g and he concedes.
2nd game Me Egypt Him Arabs He won
i walk a few turns and settle in an awsome spot. 4 desert 2 trees a barb village is 2 squares from my cap with 2 flags. I take the first flag down and he finish barb off. crap we are only 4 squares away. he camps my tree. our first 2 villages give us tech, him HBR and me alphabet. i nearly get the walkin on his cap but he builds a warrior in it the turn i could attack and i attack and loose 1-1.5. I concede.
3rd Me Arabs Him Zulu I won
i get a good number of barbs and friendlies for fast 100g. took thebes for collosus with warrior army. Maw still doesn't have 100g. he tried attacking my cap with non vet warrior army and lost and conceded soon after. i had a galley with 2 vet warrior armies and a vet legion army heading for his cap.

Game 1
Me zulu him egypt (crappiest one forgot the name)
Typical zulu took out 2 ai caps treatened the other for money and owned continent. I picked at dan a few times and he slapped me with vet legions so i expanded. I am teching good so dan trys a last ditch effort and loads up aa and 3 vet la to attack me but unloads at my strongest city and doesnt double step allowing me to get a vet aa in cap which his la cant touch he concedes. I win
Game 2
Me egypt (same garbage wonder) him arabs
This game was messed up. His first village gives him bw. He nearly gets walkin on me but i win 1.5 -2. The AIs were taking all the barbs near us. I tech hbr and rush a horse toward empty arabs cap but he gets a unit same turn. Attack and i loose 2-3. I get another horse out to look for more barbs to see aztec ai take down another barb. He tries to come into my area with single archers but i win battle 3-3 and get a vet archer. He starts bringing in aa to camp my squares. I get enough money to get a ha and atk aztec 2ndcity and loose 6-4. By now dan has 2 or 3 aa surrounding my cap. Get enough prod to rush another ha around 1000 bc and atk spain and take it in one atk, a single warrior def for nav. I take spains 2nd city and get my 100g when he concedes. I win
3rd game
My arabs his zulu.
Not very close. He starts on very large island with china. He takes that cap but that was all he had going 4 him. I take 2 caps and 100g and he concedes. I win
i had a chance in that egypt game if i play it better. i had alot of good spots to settle. i had a vet LA with archer support moving over land and 3 on the boat. very absent minded not to double move tripoli. it was actually a lousy pop 2. the best bet would have been to bypass it and get behind his lines. i night have had a chance.
the arab game was very frustrating. if i win the 2-1.5 (or manage to declare war before he rushes a unit) its over. if i get any gold from the barb next to tripoli its over. i never got a penny of gold off the map except 10 for a named square. with all that i had his science totally choked, and would have had his trees done shortly after. if his HA had died in the field i could have slow rolled cats and still had a chance.
the last game was a typical slap in the face. hbr from my only barb as zulu. i manage to win a 3-2.5 against china, but it wasn't going to be enough without any gold. i landed an archer. vet WA, and militia to try to do some damage. he deftly avoided me attacking his HA 4.5-4.5 and killed it. i had a non vet HA on the way but he would have mopped up my archer and militia before they landed. they would have never survived. he also had an attack force on the way that would have taken zimbabwe pretty easy.
played 3 with mp beast. in the 1st its my egypt w/hgb against his egypt. i had a good start with lots of gold. spent it on 2 vet HA's. i find his wounded WA but he anticipates my arrival and fortifies. i attack and lose 9-7.5. my 2nd army skirts by and i attack and lose 9-5 against thae aztecs. he has taken rome and is in republic. i know i'll be facing many cities before i recover from that 120 hammer loss, so i concede.
next is my arabs vs his. i move forward and get 25 gold, then see his border. i move back and settle next to a barb next turn. this one gives gold and i arrive early with a vet WA. i win.
in the last, zulu mirror, he walks in on athens and i take moscow. he gets 7 cities shortly after. i still have lots of gold (2 ge's from the school) and lots of land to settle. i put out a couple island cities and then come in behind him. he's got 2 libraries in good growth cities. about then he flips moscow. i stupidly had 2 legions in the city with a vet one on the way. camped outside they might have taken it back. so i dump my 2 vet WA's next to his city guarded by a pike. i double wound it and then lose 4.5-2.5. it might not have made a difference but who knows. it was a nice city. he wins.
Played 3 against Digital P last night. All 3 were mirror matches. First up zulu. He gets Aztec and 7cog I get china and SOC. He goes for barracks/legions I go for COR with GB and tech whilst also taking Arabs for fundi as backup. I get to cats in no time and start to overrun his cities whilst he sent 5 vet legion armies on a voyage across the seas to find COR city but never did. My win.
Second was Egypt mirror. I'm on a big island with one barb 2 huts HGB start he gets Oracle start and takes Japan early. I'm starved of gold and huts vet then elite my warrior! He gets to me with galley and wins 4.5 to 4 but I was never going to do anything productive in this one where I started. Digi win.
Arab mirror I walk and settle inland next to barb and take it one flag. Get tons of warriors out and lots of barbs. Take oracle egypt and about to land next to china from galley when he takes them over. Get 100g quick and get two settlers out of useless thebes plus 100g settlers and one settler out of Trip.
See AOC so settle the cities and pop it doing 25 culture p/t as I'm host with bonus. See SOC just above Beijing so get a galley round there and wait for 150 culture which was only a turn away. SOC is just north of Beijing so I pop it for a GH/GS. Get GH from culture. Make all my cities 5/6 pop and rush monarchy. (Poor decision but I got away with it). GA from that.
It's a race to navigation and I get it first after also briefly taking one of cities for COL which he immediately takes back. I make 2 vet cat armies put them on the galleon and sail west to wards Beijing. I walk in an unprotected city an wreak havoc with the cats. I now flip Beijing as he has moved the warrior army from the hill next to it and get a knight army towards his other cities way south unexpectedly and he throws the towel in. My win.
Got my games in against Mawpawk. I won 2-1.
All mirror matches again. First zulu I'm way north and travel 4 turns and settle barb get dbl injured he gets spain and map I give up. Put up no fight whatsoever but it was all plains and looked extremely bleak. (0-1)
Second Arabs. I get two HA's out and take london off him. He carried on for a while but I get nav and he hasn't anything going on and quits.
Third game Egypt. He gets Oracle I get COR but Rome in game. He takes washington and Rome and I lose HA to spain 9 vs 5. He gets pyramids so now has fundy oracle with legions everywhere. I sneak a HA on a galley round the back and take his oracle/pyramid cap. We fight forever as wave after wave of legions come but I hold my ground and GS feud for the win.

Got my gams in with multiplayabeast. Very short but one was just plain sick and map luck can be overcome more than once in the same game
1st game
Me egypt (COR) vs multi egypt (stonehenge)
We both settler walk looking for desert which didn't exist. We meet exhausted settlers at 3800 he found a friendly i had 0 gold. We part ways and he settles first and gets 2 warriors out first. I run arround a mountain and settle 3 turns later picking up a friendly. He takesdown the only barb i saw on my long settler walk and we meet warriors at another barb so i cant get gold. I try to bring a 2nd warrior to assist in taking that barb and he retreats nd slickly moves his warrior next to my cap forcing me to sell my 2 warriors to defend my cap. He moves away to take that barb while walking another warrior to screw with my cap. I send my warrior off to go after barb and he gets walkin on me next turn. Multi wins
2nd game
Me zulu multi arabs
Very short game. We both walk a turn and a half and settle 3 squares from each other. We both take a barb at 3600 he gets pottery i get 50g. 3500 i take out his single warrior with my warrior army. I win
3rd game
Me arabs multi zulu
This game was AWESOME. He discovers quickly hes on a large island with rome. His first barb gives him a boat. He galley drops germany at 3500 on the mainland and takes AW for GP. He takes rome at 3400 and switches to fundy. I have 3 warriors out getting a bit of gold and discover spain is close to me. i think i have 30g and a caravan when his vet fundy warrior army comes into view at 3000bc. I try to attack him with warrior on a hill but he is to fast and moves his army on one of my trees of my cap. I put the caravan into spain and threaten them for another 50g. I rush a warrior in my cap and attack a 3-6 and double injure him. Next turn he gets a science pop up giving me enough time to get rid of my settler pop up and rush another warrior in my cap but he is able to attack and wins the 3-1.5 but i had my settlers in there so he didnt take the cap. I still had 2 warriors nearby 1 and 2 tiles away. I attack with the closest one and loose 2-2 but i move my settlers over to my other warrior 2 tiles away and settle, build a road and attack again 2-2 and win. My now i have some breathing room and move a vet warrior army on a hill to protect from any additional armies coming my way. My next barb gives me hbr and i build a ha and send a vet wa and a ha towards spain. By now it has bw so the turn b4 i attack i buy bw for 45g and take spain and nav that turn and get 30g back. That put me at 5th tech so i rushed a galleon out of 2nd city b4 turn ended and stayed there. Next turn multi comes with his free galley with a single archer to galley drop my city which he knew was open. I destroyed his galley with my galleon, worked gold 4 a bit and rushed a cat. I loaded a vet wa ha and the cat on boat and set out while my militia scouted his area. I found berlin but it had an aa in it. I headed into deep water and threw my wa on 1st island i found and discovered 7CoG and got my 1st gp an artist and flipped berlin. Then my wife called to be picked up and asked if we could pause the game but when i told him i had 3 newly planted cities on whale, i was going to grab 7 cities, and had flipped Berlin he conceded. Talk about wildly shifting momentum in one game. It was so much fun. 2-1 me

that just leaves scottie jack and grizz. i never see scottie and jack on so we will need to schedule our matches. let me know when you are available. grizz and i like to trash talk and set up a clash of the titans kinda match at the end

Very fun game and surprised what you did to come back... I know when I'm beat and didn't want to prolong things. You had the galleon... I didn't. Would be to tough to fight out and I like it easy. Sorry I never got to posting the games. I normally do that with the quickness but I was kinda mad too at the turn out of the game and wanted to win some games in ranked before I posted... I so far am 6 wins and 13 losses since that game in ranked or player matches.

Gm1 Zulu him vs Arab me-long story short he found me early and then had like 4 or 5 impi armies outside my cap around 2500ish at the latest.....I took aztecs same turn but he already had 4 caps ..diital wins
Gm2 zulu me vs Egypt him. He gets stonehenge on a large island. we both get 100g and he gets china about 10 turns after i take india. I had the mainland though and got AoC so I ended up with my first GP and then got 500g for another. Both were GE's. He expanded well but my Cat rush killed it.....gg
im forgetting now but i think i beat digital 2-1 and multi beat me 2-1.
I expect I must have been robbed vs multi hehe

I believe i have liam dan and 1 more agianst jack. need to get maybe 5 out of 7 or somthing like that. Liam seems to be in good form -so its going to be tough (not that dan and jack will be easy!!!)
