Haha its going to be a total crapshoot for 20 turns and then maybe 2 players will be able to hang around and make it a good game. FFA with all good players is so much different than with just 1 or 2 good players.Sorry but I hope you lose
my germans beat forums russians
I walk and bump into the romans. romans die to a walkin and i get 8g. i spot forums boarders across a thin lake so i build warriors in my cities adn firtify them. then i spot Soc so i build a galley and sail over and get it for um a gs and a gh i think.
I then land a warrior to the east of forum with the idea to stop him getting any gold in that direction. I then find his galley so i attack it and win in a 50/50. I find one of his warriors and go for the 50/50 to try to get elite (elite is worth more to me)
well i win that too and i shut him off from the barbs to the west which i then send a warrior or two off to capture as well as trying to get some south of him....
then with this pretty awesome start... i freeze....
forum seemed to think he had a small chance left in the game so I reluctantly OK'd the restart.. well I guess at least it shows Im clearly not doing these things on purpose since i was royally screwed there..
we then played another and I got a march gg wa in the first few turns as well as a USA cap. this time resulting in me having somthing like an ultra fast HA unit running all over the map collecting gold and stuff. then.. it froze again..
forum generously offered the first game up as the win so thats the one that counts.

Also, how should we resolve the hosting issue Dan?In all other tournaments we play if you are tied with somebody the first tiebreaker comes down to who won the original games so according to all other tourney rules they wouldnt have to play itz(since they both swept him).....I guess its totally dans call.....

yes thats why i figured i could voice my opinion. .. but i do abide by the rules ... lets pretend i wasnt happy when scottie got an instant first place in the 2011 h2h because of his previous record against me thrash n morte but i i am way over that!, tha way i see it evry win is earned but the rules state otherwise... so be it
i specifically noted that ties that would result in the losing party missing the playoff must be determined by a h2h or ffa, no record in previous matchups. too much work went into this by everybody to have someone lose out because they didn't use their best civs, or got horrible map luck, against someone 2 weeks ago. nothing was said on civ choice, although i do believe i stated the civ used would not be available in the next round. i'll double check on that.
note: i did not clarify that civs used in the tiebreaker become ineligible for the round(s) to follow, just that civs used in round 1 are not eligible in round 2. without that being said i'm going to say use whatever civ you like in the tiebreaker, without losing further use of that civ.

ties broke by record only where the loser wouldn't be excluded from the playoff. i'll work on my clarity next time.

For host I think we should pick a number between 1-100. Dan will choose the number and whoever is closest is host? If multi gets host it is all over...

In the zulu game i didnt take advantage of a good start properly.
the other was my arab vs his aztec.
nothing special in that one but he had acess to the ai. so he pulled ahead.
maw has sucessfully moved from bringing out my good games to bringing out my worst ones

It is to predictable and certain civs can do better than others on that map. On another note, island starts will be same as regular games? First 2-3 turns seem fair?
