    2/29/2012 Update....

Looks like just the snow has gone away... Anyone else notice anything?

I am posted this since the game is back up and no official posting yet...

All I see different is that the snow is gone. Anything else?

Never-ending fanfare is NOT fixed, that's for sure. At least in this one game anyway.

Can't see any changes, which if we didn't know it already, confirms they have stopped developing the game.

But the shift back to verdant green from the penguins and polar bear freaks of nature means they are still maintaining the game. Heck, we got our own logo for Pete's sake!!!!

It does mean they haven't decided to pull the plug.

I think they are watching two things at this point.
    1) how long will the population stay stable if the game is stable (err... doesn't keep changing)
    2) is there any hope for organic growth

Only if the game can meet those two points, will they consider further investment to goose the growth.

I suppose as long as the proceeds from civbucks are healthy, then they will continue the game, and there are more civbuck players, I think. They need to make changes to improve chances of growth - even a few training worlds with experienced players/mods to assist might help. I think it's a pretty steep curve to getting something out of the game. (but that depends what you are looking for)

With reference to another thread - There does seem to be a greater concentration of expert players now. I think it's a mixture of dwindling participants and also that I have a lot more friends/allies. Certainly, games seem tougher recently.

They did change the "Buy The Most Commodities" contest. Perviously, if you bought 40 commodities and then sold 20 commodities your score would reduce from 4 points to 2 points. It has been changed to the original method of not deducting for sold commodities, but it does remain on the new point system.

Apparently you can no longer put troops in to defend another civ and use Call to Arms to knock down the attackers. We just tried it and didn't do anything to the French attackers. I know this used to work, but didn't tonight.

It have always preferred to fight my main opponent on neutral ground because I don't have to worry about Call-To-Arms/ Secret Weapon.

Maybe I have just been blissfully ignorrant, but it I think the forum consensus is that you can only use CTA/SW when you are a primary in a battle.

Note: That doesn't prevent you from building them, they just have no effect.
