Smile Enemy Unknown And Terror from the Deep.

I won't lie, i'm a avid fan of anything Xcom. I first played it on my old A500 then upgraded to the A1200 version....! And the natural progression to the good 'ol Playstation...same game just with more moody music.

Now I have played many incarnations of this classic game. I was excited to learn that 2K are going for a FPS model for the game. I thought ok! lets see how it pans out. I for one will still buy the FPS version....! Because its Xcom...now call me sad or whatever but I am looking forward to both versions. Especially the remade classic Xcom. All the shots I have seen so far are looking promising....naturally as new people latch onto the creation process stuff will change.

But thats progress.....! Like it or hate it! I have read alot of stuff in the forums, mostly good but some a little bad...! But its ok this will not be for everyone.

The only thing I have not come accross yet is this.....! The only thing that they needed to do with the originals was to make them one game.....! before u all shout at me for being stupid hear me out. The games progress looks remarkable and im sure its too late to change anything drastic now....but consider this....! Make the game as your planning....but when a ufo interception succeeds over water! please enable the new version of this amazing game to be able to recover the UFO still. In essence incorporate the underwater side of terror from the deep into enemy unknown.

I know its radical but it seems logical to me....create maps for the underwater sections of the game, and instead of a bog standard skyranger or whatever your gonna call it, make it a submersible too. I think many of your new players and avid fans like me would really like that.

Anyway I have gone on too much. Keep up the Good work people. Honestly from a fan of all the Xcom games, and a huge Fan of 2K, they are both looking very very good! and I cant wait to play them. I am definatly looking forward to both incarnations of this game. Any release dates forthcoming soon? or am I pushing my luck?

Hey bud I started with the first xcom on my A600 amiga. But all disk swapping and slow down killed it for me.
PS1 version of both games were great I even bought the ps mouse to play them.

I thought about that back in the day when I was playing the first one. So the ditch in the water?! So what I still want to pillage them for parts to research! Then TFTD came out and I done the whole ahhh, so I wasn't the only one who thought that! Who knows the sequel might integrate the 2 games together. That would be cool, having water missions and land missions in one.

People are complaining already this is bastardized XCOM so making the first two games as one would be unwise imo.

I don't know - with land UFO and aquatic USO missions, together with Terror Missions, base raids, base defences and whatever else the devs. might have come up with, it could end up being a bit too 'mission heavy'. You know - when you have a mission every ten minutes? Sometimes you just want to stay on the Geoscape and 'breathe' a bit.

^ True, your research would never get done, it would probably be one mission into the next.

That's what the heaviest weapons on interceptors should be for. Leave no survivors, leave no trace, leave no mission.

I've come away from the interviews and whatnot with the impression that they wanted an increased mission tempo. Don't know that THAT change would matter to me one way or the other tbh. (and yes, I know the world will end cause I'm not complaining about something )

LOL, fair enough. I always thought with the originals that it didn't really matter if the missions were stacked back to back. When I had re-equipped the soldiers and sorted out the alien containment I was ready for the next mission to happen. A few seconds looking at the map was enough... fast forward 'CLICK!' on to the next event.

The only down side really was the research never seemed to finish when the missions were stacked up. I wouldn't really mind if are more missions then we can get to. Means that I will play it again to see something new every time!

At worst (or best) one had a couple of alien colonies, UFO crash sites AND a terror site at the same time. Talk about amount of missions:P.
