    Something interesting I just realized...

Ok, doing a second playthrough just to catch whatever I could have missed in the first one.

I got to the funeral scene again and stood behind the two mobsters near Sarah's casket and they said something like "Did you hear all of that Exorcist ☺☺☺☺ coming from Jackie's room?" (when you were dead/ in the asylum for four days) I realized that, along with Jackie "waking up" from dying in the subway collision in the middle of killing someone, that means The Darkness completely possesses Jackie's body when he's dead.

    That's pretty creepy.

Wasn't it pretty obvious in the first place?

Not for me, I guess I'm a tad slow.

It makes sense, after all how else could he have mysteriously re-awakened somewhere else after being killed. It happened in the first game too.

it was explained in the game. darkness sends jackie to the asylum - because it wants to hold him away from getting to hell. and in this time, it regenerates jackie's body - and gains a full control over him.

Another thing I noticed: SPOILERS: during one of the scenes when Jackie is sitting in the dark room, talking, your hear a noise and Jackie gets up and leaves (I think he leaves, or maybe he just looked toward the noise. Either way, something happens.). This is in the same room where the game ends (checkered floor), and this is also the last time you see Jackie talking in that room, so I assume he gets out somehow and this proves it.

It's actually because he died. The checkered floor was the asylum, and the game doesn't end there unless you choose the bad ending. I'm not sure Jackie's monologue room has a purpose, it's just like the attic in That 70's Show - where a character can speak their mind to the audience.

Its a nod to the first game...where Jackie is speaking to the "audience", its a loading screen between levels but a nice way to enrich the story then just say...lame 3D models that you can move (hehe)

In the opening level to the game...the first time Jackie find himself in the Asylum, the moment he returns, he is at the end of carnage around him...blood, bodies everywhere, so its clear, to me at least, that even with his mind or conciousness or soul in the Ayslum, The Darkness still controls the body while its being healed
