XBox 360 Darkness II Install Problem

So I purchased The Darkness II yesterday from Gamestop, and upon getting home I popped the game in my XBox and attempted to install it. Every time I tried, the game would just hang on the install swirling icon and no progress would be made. I read online the only way to install this game is to completely sign out of XBox Live and then attempt to install the game. Has anyone else encountered this issue? I am aware that others have and here is a link to a thread on the UK XBox forums:

The issue makes no sense and I was wondering if anyone could shed some light on the subject.

I assisted someone earlier today with a ticket about this, and disconnecting from X-Box Live enabled them install the game onto their hard drive. If this does not work for you, please send a ticket into support.2k.com.

Yea I tried that and it worked. I just wanted to make sure it wasn't the game itself, but rather something to do with XBox Live. I would rather know it is a known issue than a defective game that needs to be exchanged lol

Having the same issue as above and others. With the console connected to LIVE, it cant install the game to the HD, it immediately hangs on the game install screen, drive falls silent and the guide button does nothing.

Even firing up the game from the disc to get the 2mb title update doesnt change the issue, did anyone else get the LE version and download the LE content before trying to install the game, because thats what I did and it doesnt work with the console online

Only thing that works is putting the console offline, and then the install will work just fine, made the issue known to Xbox Support via their Twitter account

I just tried something. I cleared my Hard Drive cache and uninstalled the game. Then while connected to live, I reinstalled the game and it worked fine. Definitely something to do with Xbox Live and updates. Really weird, but I am glad I am not the only one with this issue. Try that if you can't install the game.
