    A question to the Developers

    Ok, we all have questions but there aren't alot of answers just yet. I'm setting up this thread so that we can consolidate them all into one spot for developers to read. Please, just post one short question. Do not answer or reply to someone else's post. And if you see your question already asked there is no need to post another nor increase the post count with a +1.

    Is the story really based on the FPS? If yes: How is it handled, that at the end of the FPS, you'll probably have a lot of alien-tech and the whole world already knows about aliens?

    I have noticed a lot of United States flag badges on the troopers - are all troopers going to sport that banner, or will every country be represented in this way? After all, this is Earth vs Aliens, not United States vs Aliens.

    We have that screenshot of a German soldier, so I expect you'll be given soldiers for interacting with certain countries.

    Will you be able to grained back the country's respect and funding after they signed an alien agreement? Let say by blowing up their Alien colony?

    Will all 5 modes be available again? From beginners to superhuman?

    Are they're any Alien colonies? If so, how big are they? Are they 2 parts to the map?

    Are there gonna be any flying armors?

    Are we gonna be able to ride any vehicles on the battlefield? I always wanted to have a soldier riding in SWS platform or be able to transport someone.

    Will there be any perks to allow a shorter cooldown for the rocket launcher / grenades? (IE, 2 turns instead of 4)

    Since maybe a dev will read this, here goes. Since you've already tried TUs (and I'd assume ammo, and classless soldiers like the original), please leave these functions in the code for modders to access. I understand that the streamlining is meant to appeal to a broader audience, and that's fine. This game has an old following that would love nothing more than the original with improved graphics, and I imagine it won't be long after release before there are mods that will try to get it to that point. Anything you can do to help them get there would be appreciated.

    I have no wish to know how many alien races there will be in total - don't tell us there will be X amount of races because that will spoil some of the surprise.

    Devs: Keyboard shortcuts, please. It's annoying to have to keep clicking on icons when you can just press a key - I found a way round it in Enemy Unknown, but TFTD doesn't want to play ball.

    Are there smoke grenades as equipment or ability, and if so how potentially important to battle field tactics are they?

    Are abilities - like using a rocket launcher - derived solely from class, or are at least some of them derived from equipment we assign to each soldier?

    If it's not derived from equipment, will there be any way for players to make two soldiers of the same class and level different somehow (like, "pick one of these X abilities to gain at this level" opportunities) ...?

    There are two UFO series, but only the UFO:After series had a rotatable camera. Couldn't hurt to be specific.

    i agree and i hate only 1 thing about the game so far :the customization of the soldiers i mean wtf you change the race teh features i mean u go with an asian or caucasian sniper and in the next mission u can make him african it s dumb and non realistic ,i m not rasist or anything but it s dumb

    If a soldier comes under Psi-Attack, will there be "non-lethal" methods available to try and snap him out of it? Maybe another soldier gives up his movement to yell at/slap/stun/etc, with a greater chance of success for higher ranked superiors?

    Could we capture aliens alive, and could we enter into crashed ships ? (I've read that it will have huge vessels, but I remember in Aftermath it wasn't really possible and frustrating).
    I'm very curious about the mini-game for interceptions...

    Actually, these two are really good questions! I never thought of that, but you are right. We did not see action within an UFO yet or capturing life aliens. I'm curious about that as well.

    How is the AI different to the original game, do the aliens actively search the map, or have more advanced behaviour than that of the original game?

    Will the aliens always be grouped together, or can you also meet single aliens?

    Will aliens wait for the player, or do they move on their on (even when they do not see the player)?

    Will you always see what the aliens are doing (I'm refering to the demo at PAX, where you could see when the Sectoid used "Overwatch") ?

    Will the aliens always see you, when you see them, or is it possbile to spot them withouth them noticing? And the other way around?

    Will we be able to turn off on-screen "floating" health bars? I kind of like my combat fairly cinematic, even if that means I don't know when my weapons have no effect or one of my guys is about to die.

    Will capturing of specific aliens, like Alien leaders and commanders be in? If so, will they be easier to recognize so you dont have to stun every alien in the battleship to be sure you got the right one?
