Darkness 2 Demo hard reboot System

Hi there,

as I seem to have different issue than the PysX one, I open a new Thread.

Downloaded the Demo from german steam (already pre ordered full version).

Now when I start the game, the "logo intro" shows up and after some seconds, it reboots windows. Pretty nasty

My PC is pretty new and all games up to now run smooth. Specs are

AMD FX 6 Core
Nvidia GTX 560
SSD
WIndows 7 64

The PhysX Workaround didnt help. SO seems something else. Now im scared about the retail game

I'm having same issue but with a fx 8120 and Sapphire 6970, Having a friend test on his FX, but I'm guessing it may be a bulldozer issue.

i'm having the same problem and i'm using a fx6100. so, it's probably the fx series that's the problem. i hope they fix this soon

What motherboards are you runnin?

Anyway, friends worked fine on his Asus Crosshair V, Im running a Gigabyte GA-990FXA-UD5, and finally got it working when I put on the beta bios f7h instead of the f6 release, so theres that.

I also suspect the proc - but why shoudl i install BEta drivers just to get this game running? I really demand and hope for a fix from dev team. I tried to read the mainboard bios update notes but this sounds like lots of work and risk.

PLease comment on that.

BTW, im using a Gigabyte GA-970A-D3

i went through the bios flash and indeed, the darkness 2 now runs fine.. anyway, better have some sw solution for this rather than having all FX users in the field flashing their bios'Es

Well it depends if its just gigabyte boards, or all boards with non updated bios, as the FX chip has had other problems with certain steam games too. Just for reference to them I have both the microsoft scheduler hotfix 2645594 and core parking hotfix 2646060 installed for windows 7
