We Need More UPDATES! Please?

I know you are all busy and stuff but we really need more updates.

2K David said that there are so many things that are not revealed yet!! well? there is only a month left to the release and at the current slugish rate of updates, I say we are lucky if we get two more updates (one of which will probably end up being another podcast . . . ).

Regarding Updates and what they really are!

More videos? more pictures, so many things are seen and yet not talked about in the game, the darkling controls for instance! Darkness weapons (the blog was too ambiguous! a video with official EmbraceTheDarkness post)! the limousine drive! the map of the game! the cutscenes?

there is so much to cover and yet none is revealed, come on . . . can you at least post 3 or 4 substantial updates that really matter and people care about. The 4 coop videos for instance . . .. even though there were less than 30 seconds each (since most of it was the starting logo and end credits), it was rather entertaining.

If you cant post 3 minute long updates, then something like that would suffice. so . . . again! please post more real updates!

Regarding Podcasts and why they shouldn't be posted now!

podcasts are as 2K david said a behind the scenes thing . . . not updates!! and maybe you should know what I am about say before attempting to post another Podcast! (this is specially for those that are involved in the matter - i.e. 2K David)

Why would I want to know about the behind the scenes when I dont know what happens in front of the scenes?

Its simple! let me ask you this! when you wanna watch a movie, do you go watch behind the scenes or do you go watch the trailer? exactly!

And you know what!? if you decide not to listen at all and post your podcasts anyway, then please include new and substantial information about it, from the 15 minutes posted only 2 minutes are new, sometimes even a single sentence! the rest is just a bunch of people (good respectable people) chatting about the game, and keep saying "I cant reveal much . . . but there is going to be something in this game which you will figure out yourself" . . . well thank you!!! at least have the decency of puting it in a video format, so I can see the faces. you keep saying 2K Elizabeth - the famous one - cool! I like her voice, can I see her? wouldn't that be more entertaining? see people talk?

anyway, that is all that there is for now! I hope someone reads this, and makes an effort towards developing the community.

but i really suggest you to read all that I said, you dont have to reply now, you can reply later, but dont just read half of it and then decide to reply, SPECIALLY if you thing I am WRONG, read all that so you can have substantial evidence to bash or flame me with!

Podcasts are something 2K has done forever when it comes to games. I highly doubt they are going to stop them. They did them for BS1, Bs2, Civ 5, DNF, BS2, Mafia 2... It's just what they do. Elizabeth, the grand arch duchess of these forums and pretty much all user side interaction, goes out of her way to make sure that there's no game spoilers in them or that they don't have any info that will "ruin" the gameplay for people. It's stuff that gets released to the press, often put together with more tidbits for other people.

However, changing the format might be... interesting? I don't know. When it comes to having 15 minute long things like that how long is it going to be before the whole game is spoiled? I'm the kind of person who likes to be kept in the dark as possible about a game and enjoy it as "freshly" as I can when I start it up - but that's just my opinion I suppose. Having too much info is kind of useless when you're going to experience it yourself.

I don't want too many updates, after all we want there to still be lots of surprises when we play the game...but a demo would be nice.

demo is all I want now, and I agree there needs to be a balance to avoid too many spoilers, so far I've maanged to avoid just about everything story related.

p.s: if theyd release too many updates theyd spoil the game ,wich would lower sales, since theres people that dont buy a game that they already know every single story detail about aka they loose all interest, after all its only 1 disc aka the content not being more than a days worth, tops! and were talkin jackies and vendettas story together , vendetta was just made to fill up disc space btw imo, since low rez textures dont exactly take the most space in this part ,handpainted or not -.-', so it wouldnt be difficult to release a few 15 minute update trailers to spoil it all ,just saying...

most likely well be seeing major updates ...once the game releases same with the demo as mentioned before...or not, time will tell

Sorry . . . I saw alot of infractions going around lately, I was a little scared I would get one too . . . DeathNote got 1 infraction for every post he made on another topic . . . anyway back to the topic.

Im trying to figure out how updates can be spoilers? I never asked for story updates? No, . . . ok . . . let me start again by perhaps showing you what I mean and what I want!!

Here look at this:

there were around 7 withcer 2 developer diaries, explaining exactly how the game mechanics worked, how the environment looked, and even tased people with a little gameplay . . . and we have one of the most successful games of the year (after Skyrim) in its niche . . . and it's sales boosted alot!!

They didnt reveal STORY. Just how the engine works, how the violence is, and how some features of the game are played out in the game . . . no spoilers at all . . .

This is a huge marketing move, many people dont even know about your game . . . they think its just another shooter, and I promise you when you want to sell it you will get half the figures "Fear" and "Doom" makes . .. you might say they are very good . . . BUT THEY ARE NOT! your game is (to me) superior!! but someone is not doing what he is suppose to do in order to promote the game!

Believe me! I studied Psychology a few years back, I know what im talking about . . . you get one chance and only one chance to WOW your audience! and you are neglecting that!

but then again . . . why should I care about your money, the game is coming out next month, and nothing will change for me, i will play the game, and I will be happy! but the CEO wont . . . why? the money is not enough . . . and then there wont be a darkness 3!

hope theres enough people that dont care at all about darkness lore out there so there will be BF3 level sales, so that a 3rd part wouldnt be a problem , i hope!

My fault entirely, I should have completed my sentence, but thanks, I now know that someone at least red what I wrote. now as for what I meant:

By cutscences I really dont mean to show the cutsences themselves, but how they are handled, how frequent they appear. they can use the game prologue as example, we have seen it a 100 times already but there was no explanation on it. or how big is the scale of the darkness cutscene. can we interact in cutscenes? (like change the look position), or will the cutsenes show jackie doing things that he cant do in gameplay. example:

if you remember the last of part of the first Darkness, the darkness power took controll of jackie and did some amazing things . . . things you couldnt have done other wise, like crashing a hellicopter with your demon arm! or having minions approaching the victims from the ceiling and walls . .. . but if you only watch a video you will say to your self! WOW! that was an amazing gameplay . .. but the truth is: It wasnt!! it was just a trick, im not saying it was bad, but it was somehting that actually convinced me of buying that game. it was too fluid and flexible to pass on!

anyway, I mean to explain on technical view! not spoilers. instead of showing the bald guy (not an insult, I really dont remember his name) that will just repeat the same things with enthusiasm and excitement. they should bring a developer!! they should bring one of the guys who draw the game!! I wanna know who he is, how he did it! I dont care for the PR (Public Relations)!!! The gothic hardcore dude is also fine, but he looks a little camera shy . . . and . . . I dont blame him! (-_-)

anyway, thats my thoughts, it would make no difference for me! for us! but it will for their sales.

To the infraction guy(?) . . . a good marketer is not a guy that buys his votes, but a guy that creates the ultimate joice of a company! and thats "Word of Mouth", which they have very few . . .

anyway . . .. lets hope for the best
