Steam down the last 2 days?

Heya, the last two times I've logged onto Steam (yesterday and today) I couldn't make a connection to them. Of course this prevents multiplayer for CIV being accessed.

Is anyone else having this problem? The last two times I've tried to play my game, multi is about all I play, I couldn't.

Developer's, any chance you could talk to Steam and see if they can stop doing this? The last 2 months this has happened several times. Some of the times the problem persists for hours. This one looks like it has gone on for a day or so.

LOL, it's like Steam is connected to this forum. I post this and it comes online. Oh wait.... it's gone again..... Well at least i could log on for 15 seconds!!

i'm facing a similar problem. i've installed Civ5 even though i bought a boxed version. i've been playing fine but recently the game play started slowing down. more recently when i try to launch civ 5, steam takes ages to log me on . now it has begun to hang. somebody help!

If steam is taking to long to synch your files, restart it. Also, you should restart your computer once in a while. I have had no problems with steam in the past 2 days.

Looking at the Steam forums it looks like their servers where in fact periodically down the last two days. I must had just signed on at the right time both those times to catch both of those. You must've gotten lucky and didn't sign on at those times, or just didn't need "connected" like I did so I could play Multi.
