Good news for you iOS CivRev players: An update was released today, supporting some of the iOS features that have sprung up since CivRev's original release.
The coolest thing, in my opinion, is the ability to save your game on your iPhone and then continue it on your iPad or vice versa.

Unfortunately now the Civ Rev HD app doesn't work for me on my 1st gen iPad. It crashes with every load/continue/new game despite reinstalling and restarting a few times. I do not use iCloud. I hope that's not the issue.
I wish they had released an android version of this.

Lol. True. I did not, on my iPhone dates are tiny I never notice them. I just saw this thread on top, read the recent posts & immediately checked for an update. Lmao! Good laugh.

New update has turned this game into new graphics, horrible, 3D like and unplayable for anything slower than iPhone.
Maybe you can try to un-update to the last version?
Civ rev for iPad / iPhone is £0.69 at the moment in the UK.
Pirates is also just 69p
