Well I didn't complete the cannibalism quest, but I did get in the habit of eating all new alchemy ingredients I discover so I inadvertently ate "Human Flesh" and "Human Heart."

Early during my first Fallout 3 play through I was offered the "Strange Meat" in a random encounter with hunters.. Yeah, I'm happy to say that I've NEVER eaten that either! Good thing too because when I was offered it I wasn't sure but had a funny feeling about it and later on it all came together! Andale..

You know what I find funny? I completed the Dark Brotherhood questline, and THEN joined the imperial legion, I can't help but wonder what would happen to me if they knew I killed a certain someone.

Also, I hate the fact that when I stumble across a Stormcloaks camp there is always that one guy you can't kill, he just drops on to one knee then a few moments later starts attacking me again.

I don't get that, it's the same for the Imperial camps, despite the fact Ulfric tells you to wipe them out you can't, so it's just a waste of time attacking them. Like the time I went to help out the companions fighting a giant and accidentally hit them, that didn't end well...

Why do yu think I wait until after I've played a game eight or a dozen times? By then, helping everyone becomes old hat. Also, my "evil" tends to be very mercenary in outlook. He'll happily help save whole villages ... IF THEY PAY HIM WELL ENOUGH. >

For the quest I can't find the quest giver, the first guy you talk to just doesn't appear.
He's in the Jarl's Castle. Guy in long yellow robes, with a yellow hood. May be haning out near the door to the Halls of the Dead, near Cacelmo and the Dwemer excavation entrance.

First time you enter the castle, you come across him and the Silver-Blood guy having an argument.

I usually just do whatever benefits me the most.. good or evil I have wondered what the reward would for the "destroy the dark brotherhood" quest as I tend to go along with them because of some pretty sweet rewards. I am really loving the game and doing a sneak kill with a dagger for 30X damage is my favorite method of attack.

Only bonehead thing I have managed so far is after getting married I left the temple and couldn't find my wife for weeks. Finally went back to the temple and she was standing there waiting for me to tell her where we live

Maybe that's why what was happening to you at the beginning and the entire Dark Brotherhood questline including the Emperor's death was a flashback leading up to you getting caught and everything is all confusing and dream-y!! PLOT TWIST!!!

No, I don't think so, by the tine I joined them and single handidky one the war I was walking around in full Daedric armour duel-wielding Daedric swords that had been duel enchanted and thanks to have 100/smithing/enchanting/alchemy could one hit anything in the game, plus if I got overwhelmed by numbers all I had to say was three little words "OD-AH-VIING" and those numbers were gone. Yeah, they would have 0 chance capturing me again.

Okay so far I've had an: Argonian, An Evil Nord, A breton mage, A wood elf Archer, A heroic Nord, An Imperial vampire, An Argonian Elder, An Altmer Snow Elf, and now a Khajiit mercenary. Thats 9 different profiles, and I still love this game. I just can't focus enough on one, I keep getting new ideas for characters. Some day I might pick a character and write about their heroic exploits, that would be fun, (I know I'm sad.)

I've discovered that Smithing 100 is T3H AW3SOMZ. Especially with a couple ESPs I've added - one of which lets you melt weapons/armor down, to reclaim some (but not all) of the primary material used to make it. For example, an Iron Dagger takes 1 iron ingot and 1 leather strip to make; you can smelt 3 iron daggers back into 1 iron ingot.

So now? I melt down every Iron and Steel weapon or armor I find. I also, of course, smelt down every scrap I can haul out of a dwemer ruin; I've got over 500 ingots of dwemer metal right now. Once I get to the point of being able to invest in merchants? I'm going to craft the bst-bang-for-my-ingot dwarven gear around, improve it to (Legendary) to double it's value, and WHAMMO, instant Fithly Freakin' Rich ...! (I need 22 more points of Speech ...)

Meanwhile, I've got Morag Bal's mace and a head-to-toe suit of Dragonplate Armor, shield included ... and all of it improved to (Legendary) status. No enchantments yet, I'm using the mace to fill up dozens of low-level soul gems, so I can push Enchanting up. Also, looking for items to disenchant and learn from, in the meantime.

All that, at level 24. ^_^ Can you imagine him at level 50 ...?!?

    ...

My two prior playthroughs both ended up as "sneaky archer types", one a spellcaster and one just a thiefy sort of guy. This sword-and-board heavy armor Orc is playing a LOT different, and in a really fun way!

Eww Dragonplate, Daedric is the way to go.

I've also come to the realization that duel wielding swords is the best, there's nothing mire satisfying than knocking an enemy down to his knees, then crossing your swords at his neck and proceeding to decapitate them.

Whichever gives me the best armor value. Of course, it was easier to get the materials for Dragonplate, than it will be to get enough Daedra Hearts for a full set of Daedric armor-and-shield.

Though it turns out, Clavicu Vile's mask was not only good for the enchantments, but also 2 more points of armor, compared to the dragonplate helm. So the helm is now on a mannikin, in the player-house .esp I installed yesterday. Right next to my prior set of armor, a full suit of Orc plate.

I've also come to the realization that duel wielding swords is the best, there's nothing mire satisfying than knocking an enemy down to his knees, then crossing your swords at his neck and proceeding to decapitate them.
^_^ Except possibility, the ability to reduce all frost, fire, and shock damage by 50% before specific resistances kick in, just by putting your shield up.

Although, from my prior playthroughs? Nothgn beat killing something before it even had a chance to know you were there (by shooting an arrow from 200+ feet away, in stealth, for the backstab bonus).

And that's the beauty of Skyrim: so many flavors of Awesome ...!

Daedric hearts are easy to get, the quest that involves Mehrunes Dagon that you get from the guy in Dawnstar gives you access to those enemies whose name escapes me that drop a Daedric heart each, and they respawn every 7 days, then there is one in the companions guild that you either have to steal, or if you've completed the questline you can just take, it resoawns every couple of days as well. Then it's just a case of getting ebony, which you can get enough for a full set+upgrades by clearing the Orc mine which again, the name escapes me, south east of Windhelm. Of course if you already cleared the place you will have to wait a month in-game time for the ore to respawn.

Talking about the mannequins, the two in my riften home, one has a dragonplate set, the other a dragonchain set, while all tge weapon decorations around the house are Daedric greatswords.

Fully upgraded (legendary) they plateu out so they both have the same armor value. I have a full set of almost every heavy armor on my nord. My manquines display the Ancient Nord, Companion and Dragon plater armor.

Also if you've got Mogul Bals mace you should really get the Black Star. Your enchanting goes through the roof so quikly. It's literaly, Kill, fill soul gem, use soul gem to recharge mace, use mace, rinse and repeat.

I have to say that I can never choose a play type that's why I have so many profiles but I have yet to have a dual wielding chracter, maybe my khajiit...

    Edit: whats dragon chain?

Yes, but I have to actually go out looking JUST for Daedric foes to kill, JUST to get those. Whereas for the Dragon bones and Dragon scales? Those are literally a side-effect of gathering Dragon souls with which to unlock Shouts.

So, as easy as it would be to get the Hearts, it was still easier to get the bones and scales.

Talking about the mannequins, the two in my riften home, one has a dragonplate set, the other a dragonchain set, while all tge weapon decorations around the house are Daedric greatswords.
I use the Weapon Racks to store unique items - the Axe of Whiterun, Red Eagle's Bane, Nettlebale, and so on. Anything else, just isn't good enough to earn a space there.

Consider, yesterday I decided to drop the bomb, money-wise. I had over 500 ingots of Dwemer metal in storage, and used a bunch of them to make 110 Dwemer Bows, then some more to recraft them all to (Legendary). I also made a dozen Glass bows, also recrafted to (Legendary) - malachite is harder to get by than dwemer scrap items I can melt down into ingots, ha!

Obviously, therefor? Non-unique weapons are gigantically "meh". (Yes I know, Daedric stuff would be harder to craft - but by then it's just evidence tedium, really.)

While selling them, and buying up other materials/items I wanted (largely soulstones), I got my Speech to 70, and got the perk which lets me invest in merchants to up their avaiable gold permanently - plus the perk that lets me sell ANYthing (except stolen goods) to ANY merchant.

So I've crafted 60 more ... and enchanted each and every one of them. Enchanting is over 70 now. Next time I'm willing to enchant fifty-plus items with the same thing over and over, I'll get it to 90 or even 100.

And then, THEN ... watch out, Skyrim!! (I already have a couple of filled Black soulgems tucked away, muahahaha!)

OOOOH, I never thought of THAT. O_O Instead, I've got the Enchanting perk that gives me 5% of the soul directly into the weapon ...

Yea, that's the one I got all my ebony from, be careful though, if you have fire out you'll ignite the gas, cause an explosion and have a bunch of angry orcs attack, the same applies if you make the floor collapse on their heads.

I was playing on my Khajiit profile and recived the Axe of Whiterun from the jarl, now every other time I got this it was a useless Iron axe, so I open my Inventory to se what Enchantment it has, and it turns out to be a steal battle axe with -10 stamina. I was impressed.

After reading about all the "armor improving" and "smithing" and such here I've gone and started a new game! I've read that magic characters, which is what I was - around level 30, get way under-powered later in the game. And end up just spamming firebolt - which is what I ended up doing. That's no fun so: new game, hack and slash, and see how that turns out for me..

I suggest, then, that you get this mod, and the two linked in it's decription. Those three will make sure your smithing skills are useful, no matter what sort of armor and weapon you elct to make use of.

Then get this one, which will make levelling that smithing skill up, a whole heck of a lot less tedious. At the expense of selling fewer pieces of armor / weapons looted from fallen foes? Your smithing skill will skyrocket to 100.

I may try those mods out, thanks, but usually when I play games I like to at least beat them before I mod them..

Edit: Ok, ok, curiosity and the cat, yeah, I downloaded them: am going to install now.

I wish PS3 had mods... oh well just have to tough it out I guess. I joined the dark brotherhood with one of my characters and found that I really like all the people I had to kill so all other profiles they'll have to die on.
I'm thinking of starting a Redguard, one of the few races I don't have an account for yet.

Ok, got them installed and playing with them active now: the ability to make lockpicks alone is worth the admission price..

That's the thing about consoles: I don't know of any example where a mod has come to one. PC - at least for Bethesda games - is where it's at..

You can mod Fallout 3, New Vegas, and Oblivion on 360, it'd not as extensive as PC though, just simple stuff like stats, level, inventory etc. Would be surprised if there isn't a way to mod Skyrim yet.

When we talk about mods for Bethesda games, we are not talking about editing a savegame.

The mods I linked to don't just put stuff in yoru inventory - they change the way the game works. Specifically, in their cases, by adding a lot of new recipes, and one of them by adding material/category tags to a lot of gear that didn't have it (so that perks like "Steel Smithing" work on _all_ weapons and armor made of steel, and so forth).

I just spent forever getting from White run to Ivarstead and then climbed the 7,000 steps only to die one hit off killing the frost troll and being sent back to my last save... in Whiterun, sometimes I hate the checkpoint system.

I went for the red guard by the way.

You know, there's a faster way to Ivarstead.

Fast-travel back to Helgen. TURN AROUND, and walk up that road, through the mountains, around the SOUTHERN flank of the giganto-mountain itself.

A quarter the total distance, and a fifth of the total time. O_O

Or you can just save in Ivarstead... That's what I did. Then I started scaling the mountain to avoid the frost troll. It worked, pretty darned well :3

I just killed the ice troll... I had the Shadow Stone perk though, so I was able to turn invisible and sneak attack it.

You know what else I've learned, regarding that first ice troll?

RIDE A HORSE UP THE FREAKING MOUNTAN, AND JUST BLOW STRAIGHT PAST THE DAMNED TROLL.

Steal the horse if you have to, of course.

I prefer the noble warrior of legend, like Ysgammor himself.

http://online.wsj.com/article/SB1000...editorsPicks_1 I thought this deserved a mention as the most boring way possible to play a game.

My natural playstyle lends itself to stealth, and archery. I prefer to kill things before they even know I'm there, whenever possible.

As for Pacifism being boring ... I don't know, it sounds CHALLENGING. Think about it ... you can't even kill dragons, to get souls with which to unlock new Thu'ums.
