when you click multiplayer, you go online, and then you are taken to screen were lobbies are set up, click on one of them and then your in a game, make sure yo be patient and wait for the required players left.. most ppl play 6 player games, on continent/pangea, quick pace, with a timer..

if you see no one, you can always host your own... and you can wait for 15mins to an hour until your lobby fills up..... its expected your lobby will get 10 players in, but so many are impatient that they leave before it gets full and are replaced by other players..

I just played that scenario with one other person and it ended in exactly TWO HOURS. That's my limit for any one game. I only play Civ V with relatives or very close friends.

Actually, the first Single Player Strategic Game of 4,000 game years takes over 50 hours for me. The Single Player Tactical Game of 150 game years averages 5 hours for me. I'd never play an MP game over 2 hours. Its just not convenient for me that way.

i play online 6 ppl i think the game usually takes to 300 turns.. but 4 ppl will leave around 150-200ish because they feel they wont continue.

in between any time you could also say gg, if theres like 2-3 players left. and it could be assume that you give the win to the other guy and theres no point in continuing
