Seems like they got side tracked trying to focus on putting together that facebook thing they did. I don't usually do facebook apps, but considered that one till I started reading how everyone just cheats so bad on it. Not for me, if I want a bad taste in my mouth I'll just drink toilet water.

Sure would be nice if they did bring Civ Rev 2 for the consoles out, or even this other strat game rumored in that story. I hate how I love this game so much and there just isn't really anything else out there like it.

You guys should play Fallout 3 if you want to drink toilet water in a video game. Lots of opportunities for that! In fact, there's a stage in the game where you can actually improve your character by drinking from urinals.

Lol, have you come across a toilet with a Protectron sitting on it, and if you move it the toilet is clogged with scrap metal? That was an absolute classic.

Well now that some of you have played Civ World and perhaps Civ V, you must've seen that there're plenty of things from these games that could make a nice addition to Civ Rev 2. E.g:

    1. Hexagonal map
    2. Team game can be more like Civ World (i.e players from same civ. Maybe different names for caps. Different leaders maybe? Share wonders, etc)
    3. City-states (smarter barbs)
    4. Diplomatic Victory (I'm sure Sid/2k merged what were diplomatic and cultural victories in Civ Rev. I mean why build the UN for a cultural victory?!)

If they do make a Civ Rev 2 I hope they leave out the wasted production time on those "gifts". Does anyone who plays this game more than twice ever actualy go in and want to view those, or does everyone just find it an annoyance like I do?

It would be kind of cool to see a classic game like this given a new twist with a more modern look, not that I don't like the current look and feel. Just thinking how cool it would be to have this same strategy type game played from the type of perspective you get when playing FPS type games like InFamous or Resistance? All of those games have a cool look and feel to them, but it also leaves you with the feeling of if you played one you played them all. I think it would be a cool and fresh twist on those style games to be instead played like Civ Rev where you build your empire and control the various aspects of the game, but with all the cooler graphics.

...and who the hell is Princess Layla?

Yeah i have to say it's a pretty weird feature...if i were to hazard a guess i imagine 2K/Sid introduced it as a result of the various complaints they got over Civ III being unhealthy/addictive. The dancing bears provide a break. But Civ Rev is a fast paced game, and so that theory is hosed. Perhaps for Civ V it'd be meaningful...unlike Civ IV, it has returned to the stately Civ III pace of games lasting several weekends (for me at least!

I thought that those dancing bear was a failed tentative to reproduce the building of castle that were present in the first version of PC civ (I remember at least for I and II). The bring it more successfully in Civ World with the Throne room, but I never took the time to build anything else then a cup of flower and some arabian tapestry. Now, I'm ont playing anymore so my throne room will stay as ugly as it is...

we have to admit the first time we saw those rewards they were pretty cool lol..... !!

i think if they remove animations, advisor pop ups, barbarian pop ups, and alot of that kind of junk, the game could run a lot smoother. just dont remove wonder animation i always enjoy the red tree thing fall on the branches hahaha

when it doesnt i get mad !!!!!!!!!

I'd have to agree, after playing repeatedly all of that stuff gets on your nerves, I can see a need for it on Chieftain Level when you're just learning to play but they should have left it out of the other levels. I do use the battle animation to judge if maybe I should back out of a fight when I get down to 3 left from an army. I still kind of like watching the nuclear weapon launch/hit too, even when I'm going for a different type of victory than Dom I'll launch that thing into a city just to watch it and then just not go in and take the city.

well on single player they are fine, but im talking about multiplayer, in civ 5 multi, they removed animation and advisor pop ups so the game could run smoother it also speeds up the game, while fun watching the animations, ppl dont want to wait around when they got 5-8 armies by your capital, specially with a timer lol.

I've been away on various islands in the pacific....beautiful islands...and i met a Layla. No, she wasn't a princess. Nor did she give me any caravans. But she sure was smoking hot...stolling along the beach on champagne bay, santos, vanuatu.

    Lol Vitual Little Family ..
Goin back to CIVREV2 and ideas ^ the family thing could work..then if u send a spy u can kidnap a family member demand money or technology...i dunno small thought.

I think Civ Rev 2 would be great..i reckon they should define options too .. like u can play like the last game where u choose ur faction and just build from bottom to top and everyone other nation enters randomly..but also maybe a twist of editing whats nations are involved and more nations on the map , also i think editing of the units u start with and everything u start with and the map .. just if u want to create ur own scenario or if u want all the modern techonolgy way back in the start of the game or if u want ur enemies too and just try beating them with the original techno i reckon it could work...

and why not have each nation over 3-4 leaders and u can choose which one u play as etc..this could work in co-op .. i dunno if this is on the pc versions iv only ever played civ rev on 360 and now ps3...

i think they could do quite abit even more nations and if not in a new game why not a dlc pack of other nations or leader options i just think it would be a good idea to make it for consoles ... i don't really kno how well the first one went down but i reckon with updates and big promotion it could run off shelves..

They don't seem to communicate with their fans very well. I understand the need for suspense in marketing, but they could shed more light on the situation than they have thus far.

No news is probably bad news. I think they've had to dump a lot more money into fixing Civ5 than they had hoped and any plans for CivRev2 are probably on the back burner.

I hope not, but you're probably right thrasher. Maybe we will get Civ 2 on the next gen consoles, which are not that long away from release.

Yeah I kno was just droppin some ideas , you kno it might come out at a later date i mean i don't really wanna hype anyone that it will or myself i wasn't tryin to do tht with the ideas neither.

CIV REV is the only Civilization game i've really played..i mean i played the first one but since CIV Rev i haven't been able to play any other because my computer doesn't meet the requirments for CIV 5 but its a game i'd like to get to play in the future looks epic on other videos..But still I reckon CIV REV has much portential and maybe its just not realised because of its sucess in PC i mean 2k and FireAxis are more know for PC Games..

I've read other forums and stuff just looking around browsing and well people say its the Sales of CIV Rev that have affected CIV Rev 2 but i can't see how that can be when CIV Rev 2 was already in part production after the release and sales of the first game, I reckon they just had other things to focus on supply there Major PC Audience before Console Gamers etc .. still would be a nice game to have in my collection i mean the First CIV Rev is great but with a few Tweaks and updates i reckon it would be an ace game...

Maybe leave one or two things out so they make a third but just hoipe it comes quicker than CIV Rev 2 does ... If it ever does...

It's okay, mrmobsterking. You can dream. Hellogoodbye123 is just a bitter, broken old man.

I'm not really a fan of Civ5 by the way.

I think they probably would do CivRev2 in a perfect world and maybe they will eventually.

Ideas for Civ 2 (if they would make it)

    1. Bigger armies (it gets hard trying to command 15 tank armies to 4 differant spots on a 30 second timer online). Why not be able to link armies, like 3 at a time. That way they can at least move as one body but still attack seperately.

    2. More custom game options.. like an infinite time limit option, that way the game doesnt end after a certain year.

    3. More perks for unit upgrades and teirs to them. Like March -> March +1

    4. Create a map?

    5. Ever had too many cities to take care of online and you were too busy attending to what to build or learn next and you didnt get to make that perfect tactical move with your army? How about an auto pilot option for your cities, and you can set the city just like you would production or science, except other options like "docile - aggressive" etc..

    6. Adjustable map sizes like small - medium (current size) - or large.

    7. Trophies for ps3!

    8. Allow more teamlike options for team games. Like allowing you to combine armies, or lending gold.

I think the greatest part about this game, is that it is such a simple game to play that anyone can put on the easiest mode and just have fun but then at the same time you can go to the highest mode and make it extremely complex and strategic. I would hate to see them change the graphics to a more realistic style, or add too much into the gameplay to where it HAS to be complex. Keep the game simple, just add a few small things to it to help immerse us even further into gameplay and we will have another great civ game. I have been on and off this game for the past 4 years, after not playing it for a few months I always end up putting it back into my ps3 and getting addicted. ZULU BABY!

I saw that firaxis with 2k was working on xCom which is a strategy game that will be on PC and console. There is civ V too...

I think they must be concentrating on Xcom and if they have spare men they would put them on civ 5 probable expansion rather then civ rev 2....

    Hope I'm wrong.
