Thumbs down how much does 2K profit from Nvidia?

Sad that 2K is grabbing even more money from sponsorship an biased use of a less powerful card than ATI.

Your use of 3.0 PS proves this as it runs no diffrent on 2.0 Does 2K have shares in Nvidia by any chance?

btw the term PS 3.0 is Pixel Shadder an not Play Station<just a clue for the 2K staff

You have no idea what you're talking about in the slightest.

Nvidia's promotional programs (known as "The way it's meant to be played" classically) does not exchange any money.

Nvidia offers to all developers their system hardware and driver specs, qa testing, and their development toolsets, all of which nvidia builds and provides at their own expense. In exchange for their services, the developer puts the nvidia logo on the game box certifiying that nvidia has tested this game on their hardware and it it will run as best as it can the day you get it.

That and making ATI cards run worse.

Not that Nvidia are the only the ones to do it, ATI do a similar thing.

That's an incredibly ignorant statement. They do not make ati cards run worse, they're professionals.

Oh come on, the fuss about the DX10 benchmarks, Jurez won't work on Nvidia, Lost Planet doesn't perform fully on ATI. All that jazz.

And yet you made that statement still based upon no technical information whatsoever. I'm fairly certain that the ati cards that DO meet the game's minimum system requirements play bioshock just fine.

Just coincidence that the 3.0 ps requirement cuts off a few generations of ATI cards and not Nvidia ones. I getcha.

Or more likely it's just about time that 2.0 went obsolite. Pixel shaders go obsolite once intel's integrated gpu's start supporting them traditionally, lol.

Its ati's fault for having a generation not supporting PS 3.0.
You're just being angry because you can't stand Nvidia is getting more populair than Ati due to Ati's mistakes.

In the end its all about pure bang for the buck, don't complain.
PS 3.0 is not made by nvidia or ati, its made by Microsoft.

Meh? I've been using nvidia cards since the Riva TNT2, I'm just stating facts here chum. "The way its meant to be played" and ATIs equivalent have a fair amount of fudging the other guy.

My X1950Pro runs it at a steady average fps of around 42 (35-50fps range) on high quality in 1280x960 with dx9.0c (SM3.0) on my computer so I doubt Nvidia are messing with ATI performance. I have no problems with SM 2.0 dying, it's time people start upgrading. It's been around 3 years since SM 3.0 was introduced, it is not microsoft or Nvidia's fault that ATI chose to skip SM 3.0 when it came out so the ones you should be blaming is ATI unless you are a fan boy of course (then you must blame yourself for buying a card for then, not for the future).

sm2.0 is old; and a requirement on the box. ATI support SM3.0 is its current line up of cards.

This isn't some plot by nvidia or 2k, both ATI and Nvidia support sm3.0. Just because some of the older ATI cards don't support it when equal age Nvicia cards do doesn't mean theres been any foul play, it just means that ATI's choice of not supporting SM3 as soon as Nvidia is being highlited with this game.

Comments about other games not working right should be directed to the makers of those games. Did *they* have a requirement for SM3.0? or a requirement for nvidia cards on the box? if a machine meets the minimum requirements it shoudl run on it. If SM3.0 is a minimum requirement your complaint will fall on deaf ears.
It is like saying: "this game requires DirectX9 my card is only a DirectX7 card; I blame <insert developer>". I blame your old hardware.and so does everyone else.

Exactly. Both company's toolsets include applications to optimize performance on their cards. While this doesn't mean the game will run bad on the other companies cards, just that it will run better on the optimized ones. If a game runs like ass one one brand and not the other than its likely at the fault of the developer not bothering to focus much time and effort on the other brand and just expecting it to run fine without testing it.

Funny thing is that X1950pro and 7900GS are competing cards, look at the results. I like that the companies that make graphics cards take the time to make sure the games run better on their brand. It is a service they provide to their customers, so no reason to whine about it.

    Like an old car

SM2.0 is like an old car for a poor guy. It's slower, it doesn't look as pretty as a new car but it relied on by the person because it's all he can afford. SM2.0b however is like a newer car, faster then some 3.0 cars but still not as pretty.
