Both game in the book with forum.
First up, my Romans vs his Russians. I settled in place for a change & sent my 1st warrior out to discover a terrible map. HBR right away as only one direction to go, the warrior found nothing and was taken out with a Russian horseman. My horse gets a barb for 30g. hammered a galley, put 2 horses in and tried attacking the Arabs from a hill but forum rolled up with a vet HA. I injured it 4-6 with my vet horse then lost 3-3 with the other. Called it. Moving would not have made the slightest difference.
Next was my French vs his Greeks. Tough start form him this time while I get the KT and Delhi. I found Athens with the knights but he had a hill to work off. Briefly took Athens for Democracy but he killed the KT. Built a few cities then a few more in republic with the help from 100g explorer. Into democracy, took the tech lead and kept it. GB for monarchy (EITC), gs from invention (ind.) and had another gs for 500g. Cruiser fleet with a selection of units heading to Athens when he called it.
I will be on this weekend so if anyone sees me online ask me for some games.

Well, it had to happen, my Greeks lost to Liams French.
I walked and found nothing much but Aztec borders. Settled and fared no better getting double injured at the only two barbs I found.
Liam got a cap and gs'ed math for a quick cat army. Gg.

no offense jack, but are you going to be able to pull this off. most of us are almost done with our games, but you haven't played 1 yet. if you don't forsee any change in your availability it might be best to get an alternate before you play any.

A horribly slow gold start. Only light was that Duke although getting the KT wasn't that quick to 100g either. He killed my HA with it though. A glimmer of hope when I got Angkor Wat for the GW, but of course, that only allowed Duke to freely expand as he had the KT in my area. Desperatly tried for knights but Duke was way ahead, the writing was on the wall early, I just delayed the inevitable with the wall, sorry man. gg.
Then it was my Egyptians vs his French. We meet early, he takes Moscow, I grab it off him then stupidly rush paris losing my vet HA. A barb speaks to me and I lose my other HA. Felt like quitting right there, but stuck a legion army on a boat and we ended up fighting for many turs almost swapping places completely, but Dukes master tactics won out in the end. This was a gg.
Alternatively, we just call it and let Duke/Liam fight it out for the win? & move to Group 2
That could work. I probably won't be on for the next week or so though, so there is plenty of time for Jack or someone else to catch up.
i'm not the sharpest tack. sarcasm, or are you serious? you aren't mathematically eliminated so i certainly don't want to see that. the best solution would be for jack to say he is going to make himself available and get 10 games in. the realist in me says thats not going to happen in the next few months. the next best solution would be for an eager alternate to step in and knock out the 10 games. the really best solution would be for me to not give a $h1t and go back to playing bf3.
No, I was serious. My main concern is just to keep these things moving. This has been a particularly good group with 5 players getting the games done in under 3 weeks from kick-off.
I know I'm not mathematically out of it, but IF I'm good enough, then I'll have a shot in another bracket.
Well, maybe JackO will wipe the floor with us all over the next 10 days?

I'm on all the time during the week after work from about 1800GMT till about 2400GMT. That's a good six hour window to get my games in against you Jack? I agree that it wouldn't be fair as if I lost both to Jack and JackH wins twice then he would place above me.
Well at least that's a fairly solid time slot for JackO to aim for & if it so happens that you win both your games it's decided anyway.
We'll let Jack come back to us then but like Duke says there is plenty of time for Jack because even if he loses 2 to me, he can still place above me by winning the next 8!! (Unlikely but still possible!)

Played dan in 2 games.
First game my egyptians vs dans Greeks.
No gold for dan and plenty for me so dan called it real early on.
2nd game my english vs dans english.
Again dan called it in the middle of the match. Good games dan even if you thought you didn't play too well mate.
I had two okay maps which more than likely won these two games.

Spoke to you an hour or so ago Jack but you were playing Dan. I was up early and had about an hour so was trying to squeeze one in! Where are you based? Forgive me if you've already said. I won't be back on now till friday pm sat am so will keep my eye out for ya!
