Interesting set of thoughts there Phly..To me it's always interesting to see the mindset of other players and the reasons behind what they are doing/how they act. My mindset for example is pretty different to yours, but I know exactly where you are coming from

Thanks man, I am aware not everyone holds my ideals, maybe not as a whole or even not at all. I find the subjective part of this game refreshing. I love peering at others' perspectives on things as well. Figured I'd post on about it in hopes others would try to open their own way of thinking.


Anyways, had a couple hard earned wins in SOFT (Although, many losses, It is definitely not my best mode). Crudely figured out how to adapt to the lack of aim assist (After many deaths from shooting at after images instead of predicting where the enemy would be walking to). I am definitely loving the new found difficulty of combining both a non stun playstyle without the Auto aim crutch. Best comparison I could give would be the same as setting the difficulty of the game from easy to veteran. I am also attempting to adapt to a minimalist loadout that gives minimalist amount of innate advantage without killing efficiency completely. Hopefully it'll flesh out the holes in my current playstyle. Still going for minimalist effort for the same effect.

More ☺☺☺☺ talking stacking ☺☺☺☺☺es on right now. I got 3 headshots (2 no stuns, 3rd needed to aero out of stun) in a row on them before the 4th one killed me. Barbie, your protege was one of them. She is stacking with the enemy as I know one of the guys on her team you do not like. The other 2 are boxspammers and they were teabagging and later talking ☺☺☺☺ because I left their team-hosted nut hugging match. It was 4 of them and another level 40 vs me and 3 low levels (under 25). Oh, then they busted out rockets on me because I was HS like a madman not to mention they were BD camping. I challenged all of them to 1v1 via message, but none of them will do it...

I think some people finally witnessed "the beast" and they are running scared. I feel like I could lift a car right now, it must be adrenaline. haha.

I had a very good cts match about 30 minutes ago. My team won but that wasn't the good spot. I actually got a compliment on my GL headshots. I sent the top scoring person on the opposing team a "Good Match" message. Basically thanking him/her for making it an effort. Got a message back saying same to you (me), and those GL headshots are hilarious. With a good game at the end. Makes me feel good. The teams were random which was a good perk. No one was nut hugging or anything like that.

I tried to play again, but I was lagging hard. I ended up in a couple of matches with phly's alt, but after the second one I couldn't handle the lag anymore.

oh my well i can lead a horse to water but i cant make her drink. i am however teaching a new group of players i met last night how to play, they were standing in a circle spinning and grenade launching. lol im going to teach them to be cowboys and haha but at least help them get a new primary, the poor dears. i shall gladly take them under my wing with r3ds help. also i will be playing on my alt later so everyone watch out cause i will be looking for you

I was once a noob that you and r3d took under your wings. Look at me now. I'm doing head shots with the noob tube which is hard as heck to achieve. I mean I figured it out. But the speed is so slow. Zap, fire, re-chamber a round, zap, fire, repeat. Yet despite the difficulty of this. There is almost something magical about seeing your name, a pic of the grenade launcher and a little head shot icon. Every single time. This effort will take me a long time to get a handle on. Perhaps I will become the first "pro" GL head hunter?

Quit holding yourself to such a high standard and go back to enjoying the game like you used too! I know you used to have a lot of fun with it. Now it seems you are always down on yourself. And I think a lot of it is due to setting way to high of a standard for yourself. You want to be a top player. Reading these forums, a lot of people seem to think it is easy. But it isn't. Not everyone can be at the top of the ladder. Quit worrying about trying to be, and go back to just playing for fun. All this stuff about alts so you don't have to worry about your rep and garbage like that, it's just over the top. Seems you may be losing site of what drew you to the game to begin with.

I think I need to just go casual again. Run the same weapon in each of my loadouts. Nothing special. Not try to be a gl headshot master. Just play for fun. Go back to my rof crossbow and firing boosted machine gun. Run something standard like I used to for so long. I really need to quit comparing myself to my friends. Everyone of them has surpassed me in every way. Yeah, sometime I give them "Hell" in a sotf match. I like the private "for fun" matches. I like teaming up with Blane mostly as slowdive and I hardly every team up anymore. I playing in matches with r3d and bxb because when they beat me their not douches about it. It's all for fun. I think I've forgotten about that.

To be honest I don't have the time to become a pro player, I have a life to live (no offense to anyone). I may make an effort with the crossbow head shots or I may just stick with the rate of fire. I can still head shot with it. So to all those on my friends list, do not expect much from me any more. I'll team up for some cw and cts. Heck even drop me into a sotf. Just don't expect me to be the top dog. I'm not going to put that kind of focus on it anymore. I'm just going to do my best. I'll most likely be running my favorite loadout from now on as my main. Xen returns as my alts now level 50. I'm debating on rebirth.

Now on to my rage. 7 host drops in a row, two of which I was in first place with 18 kills. I swear that it's been lagsville all day today.

Well, It ll really depends on how you want to play.

You can surely keep going to try being an "master" at something, long as you're having fun doing it. If you're not really enjoying something; You won't succeed in the long run.

I always have three Loadouts, One for casual play, One for High Levels, One for douchebags.

I almost always run the causal loadout, (Old WB/EG.) as it's the one I've come to understand it's full weaknesses and matchups. I don't have to try very hard to use it, so to speak. It's kinda second nature in a way to me by this point, as I've used the WG combo since release.

But the thing is, I don't really need more then these three. I've went across every weapon and set up in the game, And I've found the three loadouts that fit my playstyle at given match. They all can fit the defense or offense mode, or be used for capturing or slaying. The only problem is, I'm fairly lazy in putting what would be considered (By me) real effort in using them. Or I just feel like using either, even if another would work better.

But anyway.

Before I got the three noted down, I worked for awhile on figuring out what I wanted as my first main. I wanted to No-stun, that's for sure. So I used EG, with Machine Gun secondary with TK and Houdini. (This was before I could Aero Dash gdlk). I stuck with it for awhile, Using it even through the heaviest douche matches. I learned every detail of it through that way, "Can I Houdini and Nostun him? Or would it be safer to Houdini then TK? Would I be able to hit him reliably?" you'll more then likely run into the same situation more then once, that's when you can try doing something different then before if it failed. Or using the map around you to give you the advantage.

(Wow, This is wall-of-texty! But I shall keep going regardless. Hopefully you'll get some motivation in some way.)

Long as you keep using Loadouts, (While keeping the one you feel most 'safe' with or whatever.) you should find what works best for you. Even if it seems hard doing it, it's so worth it when you just 'click' one day and find the perfect loadout. Even if you don't get many kills with it at first, making tiny changes can make the biggest difference. Once you can find one that works best, you can either keep it as is. or Work on improving it! Or making doubles of it, for different modes. It really depends how you want to evolve gameplay wise.

And that's how Babies are made!

..I had 7.00 W/L yesterday, but because I'm such an jerk and stay throughout event he most annoying matches (Even if I join late) I ended up losing twice.. and I'm back at 6.97.

I guess I did not choose the right words. I meant it in a playful manner. I do not mind much for any royalties, just thought that a good rivalry on the side would help spark a little more motivation. I remembered rivalry matches between friends. Lots of fun.

Rule of thumb, play the way that allows you to enjoy yourself. Skills come along the way. I'd like to stress learning the mechanics of the game better. I find the best (and fastest) road to improvement is through hardship. The more losses and deaths you will accumulate will not be for nothing if you learn something (even a small bit along the way). It has become a personal habit of mine to track and judge progress, whether it is bio, or anything for that matter. I always look upon the failures, to judge what I am doing wrong, and I take the steps to improve upon those. One thing I have realized about people is they will continue to make the same mistake over, and over and over again, that is, until they themselves realize what they're doing wrong and take the necessary steps to correct them. Well this kind of advice can apply to anything, really. Point is, if one doesn't acknowledge what they are doing, is incorrect, they will not fix it, due to the ignorance of how their method of doing a task is wrong.


I enjoy the game because it is quite stimulating for my mind. Steadfast thinking and open ended problem solving, coupled with limitless possibilities to play. I also enjoy a good challenge, as well as the colorful folks who play.

Had a great time playing last night. It had been a few days since I had the time to be on (again -.-) but after a few matches I was back to killing I played against RED and Greyfox quite a bit laaaate last night and even that was a LOT of fun, so much so that I stayed up later than I normally would lol. I completely doubted myself at first, but I didn't do anywhere near as terrible, let alone terrible at all, as I though that I might do. It didn't hurt that water jumped in on our team (we really needed the help, the first time I came across red and fox I would have been teamed with one friend and literally bronze and silver players). Apparently my connection last night wasn't what it normally is or should be, and I apologize for that, it's usually really great. Anywho, gotta run, I hope to be on tonight and I hope to see my favorite bio buddies

Well, I got sufficiently ☺☺☺☺ on last night. First match was up against a bunch of low levels (and a couple rebirthed lvl 50s who I'm sure must have boosted for their level because they SUCKED). Our team won 50-7. Next match...awful. New people joined and proceeded to annihiliate evilmonkey and me. And what's more is that our teammates were borderline retarded. They didn't even understand what rez was and kept on running after downing someone only to have them get back up and blow their face off from behind >.>
Also played with an aimbotter, able to score headshots with the EG while rezzing without fail. Eventually I just started standing on his body. Got a message from him calling me cheap. LOL.
So basically, if I can counter your cheating, I'M the cheap one. Right.

I ended up playing against Zigo Acosta last night, too. That guy is damn good, but I think he may be a cheater. After one match, his K/D was 20/1 and I said to my friend "Huh, I was the only one to kill him?" and he said "No, I got him as the Big Daddy. He resurrected and I stomped him." I know I got him in the face with the EG, so how did he only have one death?
I kinda hope my friend mistook him for someone else because I like playing against that guy. It's a real challenge and he doesn't use cheap tactics.

Xbox needs more quality players, I swear.

I can sympathize with this. In the 2 years+ I've been playing this game on ps3 I've completely worn out 2 controllers (one just had really loose thumbsticks, and the other one I completely broke the right thumbstick), and the one I'm currently using is doing some strange things... Sometimes when I'm charging a leg-up jump it'll switch my plasmids for no reason...

I haven't played since Saturday... I got really dehydrated on Sunday and still don't feel 100%, but I hope to play some this weekend...

It still counts as a face-shot if the bullet goes all the way thru their head :P

Thanks guys. I ran one of my fun loadouts this morning. Standard rof cb and boosted machine gun with geyser bolts and speedy hacker. Unfortunately I was in a lobby of noobs and one level 50 and a level 17. I really wish the level 50 would have left the daddy suit alone and not end each match in under 3 minutes. I had fun using my old (got me to my first level 50) loadout. Setting up the traps, hacking all machines. Felt nice to go back to basics. I'm still using the AK loadout variant that I use. I haven't decided what I want my 3rd loadout to be. A few days ago I was in a match (or 2) of cts with blane and was making a lot of progress with a Ndolger loadout. I think I may make a GL loadout as my third. Just because whenever I get into a match with heavy nade spam I can spam back.

I mean those matches this morning were relaxed, well except the cw with Fish and VenomD. To bad I had to leave for work before the end.

Hate getting invites to cheat for achievements for the DLC maps.Dont get me wrong I wont mind playing but if you gotta cheat to get achievements,I dont want to be a part of that.I actually had to play to get those achievements and struggle due to connections getting lost or learning the game while getting owned by lvl 50s while being lower ranked myself.To see a bunch of cheaters get them 1,2,3 just takes the honor away but thats just me I guess...

stacking/nadespam/rez ☺☺☺☺☺es on tonight. Somehow they have 4 level 50 rebirths against all 'pinks' (and me), then they group kill me because I landed a few no stun HS.

Oh and level 50s using bees and nail gun. The only 'fun' match I had was against phly and it was my first or second match of the night.

I rebirthed my alt today. Apparently I can generate a lot of in match hate as a level 6 with the noob tube. My team lost the cts match but the two rebirth 50's on the other team were noob harvesting. I was the only one who cause them trouble. I knew one of them as a self confessed aimbot and lag switch users. The other I had rarely every been in a match with. It was this other who ended up t-bagging me(before he was a bd), daddy stomping, and rivet gunning my dead corpse when he was the big daddy. This went on for the whole match. I thought this was funny. I also racked up 36 kills in home for the poor in cts, all gl with fire. Felt good using the noob tube again. I'm hoping to get to level 12 soon. Only two away from that. Once I'm at level 50 with the alt I may retire it. Or use it for a practice account. I still have 5 others to level up.

No not really, I just like the feeling leveling up gives me. It's also the experience that matters as well. That and I can be the worst player and not worry. You've been in matches with this alt. I didn't realize that I had improved until I ended up with a 1.47 k/d on my alt after the first 24 hours and it's still going up. I can use one for nothing but head shots, nade spam, nailgunning. If I want to use rez in every loadout. It's mostly the experience that I enjoy. I may never max them all out. I've also considered just going back to the xen account and stay there.

Great games last night. Even the ones I lost. The only thing that bothered me was a match where a certain player joined late and people had left .I got a no stun HS on him the second he came towards me and then he ditched the match and sent hatemail about us being stacking ☺☺☺☺☺es.. Jace and I playing together is hardly stacking in comparison to some of the actual stacked teams I've seen my entire time playing this game, especially recently. I can't help that people come into a game late and the only people who haven't left by then are lower levels, I can't force the decent players to stay and play the game out, but I at least try when it happens to me. There was one other higher level that was on our team who ended up on the opposite team the next game and whopped up on our asses, it's not as if he came with us, it's just the way the teams panned out in the beginning before people quit. I still don't see why it was reason to insult, when I've always been friendly to the person and have no control over that aspect of the game.. It really let me down.

I wanted to kill my ps3 last night as it was on crack. Kept locking up and freezing. When I finally got into a match it was fun. Although I think I had some terrible rounds. Still it was all good.

Phly I hate you, hate you, hate you, hate you. No not really. I was alright when I saw you. I had to break the nades out. It wasn't until I saw the slugger stance that I went "Oh, Snap! Runnnnnn!" yet always to late.

I will say something in your defense Blane. The most stacked I think we've every been is when you, Jace, the big leaf, omahonda and myself as a team, trolling for other teams in CW or CTS. Every time you'd come across a random group we'd leave and find another group to go against.
