Venting Area (RVAFTDS)/ What I Did in BS2 Today

I think the one's that run the "fun" are those who have to use every cheap tactic just to win. Always getting the daddy suit, boxspam, rez suicide, rage quitting, and stat padding. All this just to make themselves "look" or "feel" better about themselves. I've mentioned before if I have a positive k/d it was a good game. Even if I got 2 kills and 1 death. Even then if I am in a match with friends who I know are way better than me. An I end up with something like 9 kills and 13 deaths. That means I've held my own way better than I used to. Depends on what you define as "fun".

No Mugen, don't worry... He was actually referring to me, and my previous comment was referring to him (I imagine if anyone wanted to sort the pieces out they'd just have to ask him in a message or he would correct you here on the board since you asked)

I lost my temper/cool with him after he boxspammed relentlessly the entire game, he ended up with 30-33 kills or so and still lost even after his boxspam frenzy attempt to win. I was rude at first because it was non-stop, turn a corner and BAM boxspam the whooooole game, but I feel personally that there was no excuse for me saying it was pitiful. I did apologize later and explain decently why exactly it ticked me off, and how it made a game that I try to enjoy well, less than enjoyable. I think some of you understand and get sick when you see a GREAT player using cheap tactics when they're afraid or about to lose. I can name quite a few people (for obvious reasons I won't) who only seem to suicide and boxspam as soon as they think they will lose, and I can't mention how many games I should have won but lost because certain players suicide every time they are killed towards the end, or people who quit the match at the very end when they lose. Bio IS fun for me, but sometimes others ruin it for each other in a number of ways. I apologized repeatedly Little, for the way I approached it, but I won't apologize for getting fed up with it, even if the person is a friend. I don't think you're a bad person or player by ANY means, and I myself probably should have left it go and truly wish I had (which I can't stress enough) It was utterly aggravating because I honestly always thought you were a superb player, and the other night when all that happened just made the matches seem pointless and let me down. I know the only person I can make "fight fair" is myself, and I do. I just hope eventually maybe some of the people who are known for things like what many people have mentioned will someday follow suit, however unlikely it is.

Like I told someone earlier, there's only two types of people that play bio anymore: Douchebags or Newbies. We all know this a load of crap because if we really all had fun for the day, would we need a venting thread to post in? Just saying.

Huh, So, Fish is douche now? CranBerry is douche tier? Blane? Xen? Slow? (Debatable. :P) Etc Etc.

And for the venting thread, Even the most fun things can be ruined by douchebags. Like, Say, Boxspaming douchebags who know how to play, But do it anyway. It just helps bad players crutch even more then EB could. Even more funny when they use BOTH! Don't ya think?

Now, You see, I play for fun. But there is jerks make the game less fun. Be it teams of stacking jerks, 'ciding jerks, Boxspam jerks, Or all around jerks. There's players that have Boxspam mapped out on controllers! That really makes the game less fun those kind of players are so terrible, they drop to such low standards. They have fun at the exspense of others.

And of course, THE POINTLESS DRAMA.

It's ok if people think I am a douche based on personality, but I don't consider myself to be a douche player.

I have one of the highest 'moral' playing standards: no Rez, change loadouts, no suicide, no boxspam, no stun,stun,stun, no BD camping, no spawn camping, no nut hugging, no hiding (except in CTS), no death trap, no BD suicide, no TK Shotty...But I do use barrels, sometimes a GL, and occasionally teabag.

Occasionally these things will happen, but I don't start a match thinking, "OK I am going to suicide"

The thing about boxspamming the crossbow(damage increase) they could just use rate of fire. They stun you with either eb or tk and boxspam. Save's having to go through all those button mashing. I don't care if people think I'm a douche, I can be a spaz sometimes though. I'm almost as moral as SD. As I'm more of a semi-camper. I like hiding in the corner or lurking around certain area's of the map. Mostly trying to stay way from the main killzone. I am guilty of spawn trapping if it the area I'm camping in. Most of the time I look for those stray lambs running the map. Only two people I'll t-bag are brutalxbarbie and r3d. I think we all t-bag each other. It done for the fun of it. Kind of saying "ha ha, I got you." That why I play as Zigo now. Nothing like a sweaty fat man t-bagging you.

@Bladia: I think the typical "new" loadout is nailgun, bee's, rez and deathtrap. I've run into a lot of that as of late. That and a chunk of cb-rof users running those same tonics. Also ran into our good buddy Dar** today on an alt. I like to watch him leave, enter, leave, enter over and over.

yeah, it seems that is the loadout. Also GL and legupping. Ran into a few of these morons using this combo in CTS. We still won though I put my mic during the next match and I told those fools what I think of them.

And I havent seen that cheap*** for a long time. I was hoping he quit. Oh well, at least he is great entertainment lol. I love the sequence of events:

That guy is by far the biggest douche I have ever run in too. He did the same thing to me all the time, until he started to realize he could never beat me and I would go like 8-2 on him every single game. Given my skill level, that should tell you something about his...

If the leaderboards didn't exist I'd be happy. Sometime I feel I have to compete with everyone. Then I realized that given time and effort I could be No.1 on all boards. Simply because I accumulated the kills, adam, etc. I don't care about the leaderboard anyway.

I agree with raging puma about the swearing,etc. I miss the old school doom days. Where the only plot was to run around and kill monsters, aliens, zombies, and/or evil rednecks. The 3d realms era back in the 90's. Ah youth how I miss thee.

The only two games that I play (well one really) that I have absolute love for are Silent Hill 2 and nes Blaster Master. I had a nes emulator and played blaster master like crazy. I really love that game. Nothing like old school fun. I still remember the grenade trick on the crab boss. Silent Hill 2 was to me, the best Silent Hill game. I got as far as The Room (SH4) but that was it. My fondest memory was being the first kid in school to have Super Mario 3 two days before it came out.

Had some good matches that I hosted last night. I averaged 30+ kills a game! Had some decent, but laggy ones this morning. I'm still avg over 20 a game. I can't wait until I get that ethernet cable!

Actually this morning in the laggy matches there were some lower levels...But they had 2 level 50s and I was the only level 40+ on our team. It was CTS, so I was trying to keep every machine friendly and get the sister to the vent.


Last night when I was hosting though was all high levels (40+) and most of them were using rez/eb/cb/gl loadouts.

I know you were joking. I think the ones from last night were civil war because I led my team in kills and that doesnt happen very often when I am in a 'high levels' match.

I just look at the stats at the end, but I am pretty sure last night were CW because I couldn't get into a CTS match.

I'm just glad I was able to get head shots with the nade lawnchair. Then all the rez, boxspamming d-bags got on. I had to leave. I was getting majorly po'd. I feel it best to quit playing when I get like that. Even just drop out of the match. These's fools almost made me rq. I think they were teaming in sotf.

I wonder what it would be like to be a "pro" GL head hunter?

Yeah the first few matches was very enjoyable. It was a lot of fun sluggering everyone the first few matches And those GL headshots you were landing were really impressive! Had some good laughs watching my character fly around and doing backflips from getting GL headshotted.

....

Then these guys join. The fun dropped like a mallet. Had to go rage mode on them. Of course most of them rq'd lol. That final match with that rebirth 50 was especially atrocious. He used bees NG EB+Boxspam Launcher, and if I didn't be cautious and equip one of my loadouts with WB, he probably would've suicided as well. All in all, I ended up getting a headache from dealing with these guys (like friggin 80% of the lobby)and their constant rez/boxspamming.

I think that's what kills it for me. I was on about an hour longer than you and it only got worse. I might have to try a winter blast gl headshot loadout. I do find it kind of sickening that I really have no talent for the cb/eg variety. Yet I can land nade head shots. What the hell? I guess it's easy for me to line the head up with the gl's iron sights.

I had some fantastic matches over the past couple days. One particularly amazing one was in civil war. The score was 480 to 360, and I was sure we'd lost when I came across the Big Daddy suit and unleashed rape on the opposing team. Scored ten kills in under a minute while my teammates racked up the other four to bring us a win. I finished with a K/D of 25/13. I actually got a message from a guy on the opposing team saying "Wow, dude, you pulled that one out of your ass!" I couldn't believe it myself, to be honest.

Bit after that I joined into a match and actually heard one of the people I'm regularly in matches with say "Oh great, here's Hero of Lylat. I ain't gonna win, now." I thought that was funny so I plugged in my mic to say "Hey, now, you're no slouch yourself." Guy's name was Pete2527. I play with him all the time but I'm almost always in a party with my buddy evilmonkey127, so I never hear what he says. We had some good matches and I actually learned that he's a pretty cool guy (which I find to be in short supply on the Xbox Bioshock).

Of course, while playing with Pete, I ended up against someone called **removed** who decided (after being crushed by my team) that I am a noob because I kept getting the Big Daddy suit and (this one's funny) because I use Insect Swarm. LOL. He said I was camping for the BDS, and if you've ever played with me, you know I don't camp. Period. Camping is a one-way ticket to death in this game. Sure, I know where the suit spawns on all the maps and I'll generally try to head towards one of the spawn points around the 2 minute mark, but I don't camp for it. You can't get enough kills that way. And as for Insect Swarm being noobish...seriously, go ☺☺☺☺ yourself. It's in the game, and if I want to use it, I'm gonna use it, especially on stupid ragers like you. Besides, if this kid was any good, he'd know how to actually get the kill even with bees in his face. DERP.

One last thing. I just want to say that if you use resurrect and kill yourself with a grenade launcher...☺☺☺☺ YOU. That just makes me mad. One of my opponents last night kept doing that every time I killed him. I eventually decided to just stand on him and try to avoid his deathtrap when he couldn't respawn. Totally worth it, as evidenced by the "UR A DIRTY CHEATER!!!!" messages from him afterwards :P.

Had alot of fun tonight on Bio, played against some friends, and even some fellow forum members on an alt. Overall pretty good a few bad apples but meh fun none the less. i really enjoy playing on alts because i don't have to play like i normally would i can do whatever i want and act like however i want, no expectations. haha yay! well hope to catch you tomorrow!

Running a lot of restraints, in hopes it will improve my already sloping learning curve. These includes no auto aim, and among other things. It is still nowhere near a presentable state, but I do make some progress. I do not like the thought of being tied down to any crutches of any nature. But, I do find sheer enjoyment of having the disadvantage, and creating one during the heat of the moment, is merit enough to stretch a few more hours into this mess of a game. It helps escalate the experience, no need to go for any lower.

Puts into question if I am the only one who sees this. The notion of the heightened fulfillment from having over-exaggerated standards in one's own playstyle. Having a story behind every kill, and achievement of sorts. Just my own fastidious standards doing the talking. I just can't bare to see myself mindlessly attain cheap fulfillment from such mediocre, halfarsed mindsets/standards.

Interesting set of thoughts there Phly..To me it's always interesting to see the mindset of other players and the reasons behind what they are doing/how they act. My mindset for example is pretty different to yours, but I know exactly where you are coming from
