I played maybe 4 games.. I spent a good half an hour trying to find another, and by trying i mean I even checked out the lobby for every match type. Am I the only one having this issue? Or are people just dropping bio like a hot potato and matches are just scarce? There are two people I won't play with, on their team or not... so I don't think that is really the issue either. Maybe I'm playing the wrong hours I usually don't play and get warmed up til around 9 or ten in the evenings.. Is it any better in the morning?

I'm fairly annoyed my spot on the leaderboards might be taken, By someone who doesn't even deserve the spot. I earned it, and ALL the wins. While they have always been.. less then respectable.

I used to be fairly obsessed with the leaderboards, like people taking my spot, but honestly people know who the legit/good player is so i wouldn't worry about it.

This past weekend seemed really quiet to me as well... I'm wondering if things might pick up again as graduations finish up. I usually get started about 4 or 5 pacific time and last few days I've had to wait more for matches to start, even without a party of friends. Normally if I'm solo I can find a match in no time, but last few days I've had a harder time even in CW and CTS... but I did have a few good AG matches lately.

Day before yesterday I found a boosting party in AG. They asked me not to kill them because they were just boosting, so I grabbed the girl and camped in the operating theater in Medical. After a minute of me holding her, one of the boosters came in to try and kill me... it didn't work out... So, after a few more failed attempts to get the girl from me, another member of the boosting party joined him in trying to get the girl from me. Just like that there were 3 of us actually playing the mode for it's objective! I felt a little proud of myself for getting these boosters to try to play the game, especially since I didn't go out of my way to try to piss them off by killing them, I just camped where the turrets couldn't shoot me.

Since it was now a fun match instead of me holding the girl to end the match as quick as possible so they'd have less time to boost, I started going hard on them. I won the match by a large margin of time with the girl and a k/d of like 13-4 and stayed for a second match. Played out the same except I had less time with the girl, it was a low scoring match all around in terms of time with the girl but I still won... I guess that's the double-edge to winning AG matches like that, since half the lobby is boosting it feels more like a private match with a couple of others (complete with hostile turrets) rather than a true AG match... soo, winning doesn't feel as good as it should unless you're specifically ruining it for the boosters to get your joy (which is also fun, moreso when it's a specific booster you're trolling).

I just wish KEK would see some new action... been ages since I played a KEK match...

I used to watch the leaderboards too, even though I was never as close to the top as you ;P These days, I couldn't care less.

I remember when the rebirth glitch screwed a bunch of players out of all their adam, I was rocketed to the top 10 and enjoyed a very slow, lazy fall back down to the mid 20's before I stopped caring and eventually stopped using that account alltogether (for multiple reasons). It's been for the best. Now I wouldn't give a runny turd to know who's who on the leaderboards, I've played with/against almost all of them anyway and I know who's actually skilled versus who just spams and rages..

Most of you have been playing longer than I; I shouldn't have to tell you the leaderboards are a joke. This is pretty much known all around, Regardless, Losing a spot that has been fairly won and held is slightly annoying. Or have it be taken away by any nolife. (in Frank's case, And Cola on PS3. When ti Should be rightfully owned by someone that is worthy of it.)

Sorry to hear that though, Frank. I use to hold Big Daddy, ADAM, Kills. But then certain players 24/7'd it and took it. I can honestly understand that feeling.

Not entirely, Stats can still give a good indication of skill. Or at least they know how to aim well.

Everyone pretty much knows who Those people are though, I'd be pretty funny to see the 'real' leaderboards if those named players were removed.

Yeah, I can agree with the 4 or less isn't stacking. I was in a match with two friends Tuesday and can honestly say at least one person is a weak link on a "team". I was that weak link in those matches. Did decent though.

And that can't be applied correctly to BioShock.

Because even in the "two is stacking", One good player player can evenly make the odds against them. One good player can easily take on, 2 to 3 players. Let alone if there's an team of decent players vs the "stacked" 2/3. Stacking odds in the favor on Bio is a gamble. Because even when it looks like the stacked team is going to win. It could just take the one player (or as Xen pointed out, Weak players can easily make the match turn in either favor.) to turn the tides. Then all that stacking is moot.

Disregarding entire stats because they "stack" isn't fair to the player, Or anyone that has played. Considering everyone has "stacked" once in their playtime, We might as well just count the SOTF players as the only genuine stat holders.

Shelf life and enjoyment won't be made by stats and how you do in matches alone, a la Halo and Call of Duty. You'll be affected by the community one way or another, and would obviously come across future friends who you'll play with.

I never even reached 40 and I don't have the DLC... so... that argument really doesn't fly with me, now At this point in the game's history, however, the majority of folks playing (at least those that frequent these boards) are people who've been playing for 1 year or more. It's not shocking that they are either 50's or rebirth 50's.

I'm not saying that. I'm saying if you group up "so as to make a particular result likely" THAT'S stacking. I've seen low levels, true newbs, not alts, grouped and I would not call that stacking because they weren't fixing/trying to fix the game.

(Low level grouping is rare in my experience, even among alts. Virtually every grouping I've seen has been 40+, with all Rebirth 50s being the most common.)

If they really sucked that badly, for lack of a better term, then they'd be fixing the match for their side to lose, since better players couldn't join their side, but that's just nitpicking, which I'd also say is your point.

What you should really be focusing on when confronted with a group, is whether they use unfair loadouts. If it's not against you, then it's been used on players of lesser skill where they have used such methods to win, where they otherwise couldn't.

Death Trap
Resurrection

That is something that I agree with. Though Death Trap is a minor annoyance. I'll never use it, but I'm rarely bothered by it, unless it's really laggy.

I consider death trap my "anti-T-Bagger" tonic, so I will usually have it in one of my LOs... Gotten a lot of them Tbags lately. The others I rarely use.

Stacking is 3 or more IMO. 2 isn't normally enough to shift a match unless they are top tier players against noobs. Hi everyone, been busy, so I haven't been playing any games.

Hey, SD long time no see. As for that particular set of tonic,plasmids, and add-on. I can attest that homing nades are garabage, bee's are annoying. I hate death trap (always seems to kill me) and rez is just a minor pain. Although I don't mind using death trap myself. It has helped in team modes like cts. Other than that no dice. I'll be on tomorrow so look out for me.

I once cared about the leader boards but gave up on it, because in reality it's just a numbers game. As for personnel stats the only thing I'm concerned about is my kill to death ratio. To me it's an indicator of my skill. So far it's beginning to finally balance out.

I love my deathtrap! I've been using it for so long now, that it feels strange without it. I personally hate rez a lot more than deathtrap... I already killed you, just go with it.

Deathtrap will only pay off if there's a reason for enemies to be near your corpse. In deathmatches deathtrap is fairly useless unless the enemies are desperate to get a damage bonus on you (or t-bag you), since there's no reason objective-wise for them to stay in that spot. Deathtrap can be very usefull in the objective-based modes like CTS, TW, TAG, and AG. In those modes you can sort of plan where you will fall and set a nice trap in the process, especially in TAG and AG since there's usually a more confused team dynamic.

Those that consider deathtrap to be a trashy, skill-less tonic are part right. If you want to compare deathtrap to rez, there's a connection: using either deathtrap or rez are basically admitting beforehand that you anticipate being killed enough times to make either tonic's payoff appealing. I originally started using DT because I was getting t-bagged a lot and players seemed to rush in groups to take my picture. It did make a difference. To date, there's only been 2 or 3 of the notorious t-baggers that can get in there, rub 'em on me and get out before I explode. Same ratio goes for the average damage bonus slut.

Anybody having trouble with deathtrap, just remember you don't have to stand on your kill... move around, go find another enemy. After you get the kill, GTF outta that area! Remember, there will be a skull telling the rest of your enemies right where you killed one of them.

After all this time using DT on a consistent basis I can say that it's payoff has diminished over time as new players are getting introduced to it early on and learn to hang back for a few seconds before they move in with their damn cameras. In CTS it's still totally worth using because you can know what paths players will take, what they want to pick up, and where they want to put it. But, rez is rez, it's always kinda douchey.

Besides.. Easy kills? I donno. Love is laggy, Which isn't very fun anyway. Neither is boxspam, and there was surely large amount of that.

Though, Xen froze. Astro got bored because it was obivously.. Boring, Cut and paste loadout matches are easily the least exciting thing in the world. Which the only other plasmid I even saw was BB's Houdini.

Anyway, I won't stay in a match that is grossly unbalanced. That isn't exactly fun, and I'm hardly trying to impress anyone who can't hold themselves either for any reason.

2 Caps is hardly something to sweat over, considering on Siren Alley it's easy to get caps fast. None of them "RQ", Xen froze and Astro was Really bored of the cookie cutter loadouts with Boxspam. We had no problem at all fighting you, Not like we openly avoid parties. Astro was falling asleep due to how much of a chore it was playing Yet another high Level match with GL's, Boxspam, and EB fail. (Which was what we were fighting all day~) It was most likely our bad, for expecting anyone to leave their comfort zone of playstyle I guess. Let alone the lag and such. Which only made everything else more of a bore.

And in my case, Playing any match that is less then 2 vs 4/5 is pointless. And only wastes everyones time, as I have been both the one player and the person fighting the one person. I hardly believe anyone would stay during that for any reason.

We rarely quit, Xen's entire screen was black and could only use chat, Astro left after Xen because we decided to regroup. No reason to run, Since I can take a beating. But I won't take a gangrush.

Yeah, I could certainly tell. The lag was pretty bad, Made it nearly impossible to fight back. I would be stunned, then dead before I could do anything. (And when I could do anything, it would do that rubber band AD thing. Very annoying.)

I'm sure you know Bio can have it's hiccups, Things like the black screen and freezing can happen. Or just getting bored of the same ☺☺☺☺ everyday and every match, You're much more fun to fight without the EB. As for my age, I may be almost twice your age, but I'm not the oldest person still playing this game, nor posting on the forums... I know of one player in particular that has almost 10 years on me, even though I've never seen him post here...

and yes, I am the fabled caveman. All the sick fetishistic stories are true, in a diluted sense... I do weird things to pookie... that's why he stopped playing.. He made me drop him off at a battered splicer shelter because he couldn't handle my mood swings. I smacked him and told him to be a man, but he wouldn't stop crying, so I dumped him off at the shelter and told him the dog is mine now... I last saw him with a really fat chick, said they were getting married...

Ugh. THREE members of my team, including our one and only Rebirth 50, decided to stay behind during our CAPTURE round and make sure the turret near the vent stayed blue, leaving me (level 5 on that account) and one other teammate to attempt to capture the sister by ourselves. The Rebirth 50 finally decided to get off his duff and venture out during the last 30 seconds, at which point it was too late. He's one of those water fetishists that drive me nuts with their geyser traps everywhere, forcing me to waste precious time and ammo stopping and shooting at traps. Why aren't they color-coded like turrets and venting machines?!

Then it wouldn't be much of a trap would it? Half the "trap" is it's deception, not just the placement. If it was colour coded, it's like screaming out "IT'S A TRAP!" to your enemy, and I like to steal their traps, they think it's safe but it's not... and that would completely throw that tactic out the window.

I don't trust any trap unless I see a teammate lay it or walk through it and I've never taken my eyes off it. Color-coding wouldn't stop one from getting kills off dumb players who don't look; it would just save time for the smart ones who do.

I played on the team of another water fetishist this evening; we were defending the sister in Fontaine's apartment and he was laying down trap after trap at the front door and the members of the other team kept falling for it over and over, even the high-rankers. I couldn't believe it. How many times does one need to be killed before one learns not to run willy-nilly through a doorway?

I got into an actual match of Adam Grab. No boosters or anything. Everyone was actually playing. It shocked me. I had a lot of fun even though I didn't care about getting the sister. I was there mostly to take off mask.

This morning was messed up for me. I used every weapon in the game and seemed to settle between head shots (crossbow) and the machine gun. I left a lot of matches out of frustration. However I'm finally getting my K/D in order. Just 100 more kills to be balanced. Seems whenever I do head shots it starts going up again.

As for me "RQ'ing" that match with Astro and Venom, no dice. I left because I got locked up. I couldn't do anything. At first I though it was like the stuck in the floor thing. But, no one seemed to see me. So I left. Besides it was a boring match anyway. I guess that's why I seem to stay in sotf more and more. Hard to find people ganging up on one person.
