But i do think it's in english.

A buddy of mine heard all their "songs" for laughs and it actually gets worse further on when they have to make a (i don't know the english term) bridge between two parts of the "song".

He has an evil side to him so he tried to encourage that band to get on stage.
Imagine how the audience would have reacted to the spectacle
"Spectacle"?!? I would call it torture!

Sorry if it's been posted before, started to read it all, then got lazy! ;P

Whenever my team lands on a crash site, that's what I'd want:

Creepiest, most oppressive soundtrack I've ever heard. Still get goosebumps 25 years later.

This is a good suggestion. I liked! now is my turn: imagine you entering in an alien base (or ship) with this music playing in the background: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sq9_wBxncaQ

60's - this is not only rock n roll. This is rnb and doo-☺☺☺, crooner jazz, country, rockabilly. I think, in XCOM we can see mid 50's music too.

If when you talk about music of the 50's you're referring to something like this ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bMMV_RoEMxE ), so I only have one thing to say: may the songs from 50's come to XCOM!

But this is 1941... and if we speak about retro nuclear soundtrack, I can recomend for this game:
    Frank Sinatra - Blue Moon
Nat King Cole - Love Me as Though There Were No Tomorrow
Nat King Cole - Orange Color Sky

Guys... please check this out. Jeff Waynes War of the Worlds, the Musical. If this doesn't strike fear, solidarity and excitment all at the same time.... YOU HAVE NO SOUL.
I recommend playing through the whole soundtack, its absoultley made for this game, the whole feeling of it.

And Jeff Waynes Forever Autumn has been one of my favourites since I was like 8 years old. Back then I only had a synthesizer version on a cassette though, but it's awesome with lyrics too!

I'm rather happy to notice this musical is coming over to Finland next year, and it's going to be the first musical I'll go to :P

No offense meant...! I (and I do probably stand alone in this)... but think the War of the Worlds music is very adept to the whole feeling of Xcom and the darkness that surrounds it, it's very theatrical... and with Narratives in the game would help aid music usage.

The GTA's, Mafia II and so like, could get away with using actual songs in there games, because they are genre specific. I dont think this could work with XCOM (Marin maybe), where as ME3 stuck to instrementals, which again, suited the game. I do feel that music in games creates a huge part of the feeling and movies, too. I feel it did with some great work with movies in particular, Star Wars, Indiana Jones, Rocky etc. etc.

    Nice disco beat

How about Fantômas - Delìrium Còrdia? This is the first quarter.

Hummm... personally, I think the soundtrack of XCOM (both the shooter and the TBS) should be a mixture between the styles of The X-Files, Stephen Spielberg's War of the Worlds ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2OwFu97yfDg ) and Nightmare Creatures ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sq9_wBxncaQ ).

I think this would be great for the Witcher2, but a little too oldy worldy for this game, very good though I do like it!

I agree. This "Ensiferum" fits well with The Witcher 2.

Hello 2k - this song MUST be in XCOM:
The Chantels - Summertime (Cool Soul Tune)
    Wanda Jackson - Let's Have a Party

I hope don't. None of these musics appear to be "XCOMish" enough to be part of the soundtrack.

How about using a little bit of Jeff Wayne's "War of the Worlds" to set the tone for missions?
