I'm sorry guys, I'm enjoying the sci-fi discussion, I really am, but this probably isn't the best place for it. This thread has sorta become a catch-all for vaguely XCOM related discussion and that wasn't really the point. I know there's no longer a proper XCOM Off-Topic area, but maybe this is worth starting a new thread for?

I'd be totally cool with you guys carrying on this conversation in a thread that was discussing specifically the types of aliens that are in XCOM vs. the types of aliens that you'd like to see in XCOM. Of if you just wanted to go broad sci-fi, there's always the General Off-Topic Area.

I agree. The lack of imagination of the writers (of sci-fi shows and games) is killing the science fiction genre!

I would tell you to google that, but that would be a bad idea. Basically fan fiction where the writer pairs up two characters romantically (usually gay), and if I recall the wiki page on it right, started with the Kirk/Spock fics.

That's about as far as I want to talk about that lol.
