Stuck on start up

OK I'm still learning how to play. The way the tutorials are set up I asm trapped waiting for enough food to create the scientist - wich locks me out of playing another game I have. How do I get past this?

If you want out of the tutorial, hit "Q".

There are three options.
-Hover the mouse over a house you already have and then click 'change jobs' and select 'scientists'. This will complete the invidivual quest and move you on to the next one.
-press 'skip quest' at bottom of quest information pop-up
-press 'Q' to skip all quests
