    Sinistar Weekly

So, this is going to be a thread dedicated to a persistent universe in which my short stories will be from now on based. I will release a new short story once a week (Friday or Saturday) and each one will be mostly unrelated besides being in the same world. If you're lucky, I may pop out more than one a week, but I promise to go for at least one a week, okay?

As for getting to know this world, well, you'll have to read it to get the details. Just know that there are lizard - people with machine guns, zombies who feel the need to revolt against their slave masters, barbarian babes who must defend their tribe against an alien invasion, suicidal robots who can't cope with the world around them and much more.

    So, enjoy.

And yes, that typo in the title is on purpose.

    1. The World Around Us, Part One A man watches the world around him end.
    2. Den of the Lizardfolk Hunting to save his starving family, a mutant uncovers a plot that threatens the lives of all people.
    3. Planet of The Reich A huge assault on a space cruiser takes place by the most unlikely of enemies.

One - The World Around Us, Part One

    August 27, 2011. 8:59 AM. Saturday.

I stand there, motionless as I watch the huge metallic shell fall from the sky, spiraling out of control towards the center of New York. I'm standing near my window, in my apartment on the seventh floor. One hour ago on the news, the president himself announced to all citizens of the United States that a meteor covered in metal and radiation, unseen before hours ago, was going to crash land into Earth. Of course, bits and pieces broke off at points in time when it collided with smaller meteors and planets. So now, I watched as that shrapnel was headed down ready to kill everyone. The shrapnel being big enough to create a massive crater, and for those who survived, the radiation would me horrible. I cringed as it neared, closer and closer. When it was in plain view, nearly touching the highest sky scraper I knew that we were all dead.

I would hope so. By the way, most of the stories will be much larger than my first one. That's just a bit of an explanation to how the world became the way it was in the other stories.

Two - Den of the Lizardfolk

Shadow Season IV, 2152. 7:45 PM. II

A sudden movement shifts in the bland horizon, the sand mostly hiding any shape. I let out a long sigh, and reach down to grab my bow and quiver of arrows, soon shouldering the bow by placing my arm between the wood and the string, and my quiver by wrapping the leather strap across my collar bone and arm pit. As I begin to make chase towards the being which I would assume is a Farlong, my loin cloth fluttered in the breeze. This would come back to haunt me when there would most likely be sand in my nether regions. I would have to ignore this for now, knowing that if I were to feed my family back at camp, I would need to slay this beast and bring it back. With a long stride, I would find myself turning down the edge of a sand dune, and moving toward the sun which was going down.

As I got closer and closer, I could see the now detailed shadow of the creature. It was defiantly a Farlong, identifiable by the huge spikes on it's back and tail. It began to speed up in it's movement, so I had to equal myself or lose it. With longer strides, and quick steps I was nearing it more and more. The Farlong was only ten to fifteen feet away from me. I could clearly make out it's hard scales and soft underbelly. I quickly let the bow loose from my shoulder, and it slid down to my hand where I grasped it, bringing it to my front. With my other hand, I grabbed a single arrow from my quiver, and brought it near the bowstring. While knocking the arrow, I took aim and carefully viewed the Farlong which was slowing to a stop.

I let loose, and the arrow flew, finding it's spot near the underbelly of the Farlong, and just below the neck. It fell to the ground, which made me assume I had pierced it's heart. With a quick feeling of glee I rushed to the side of the fallen beast, and examined it's wound. Sure enough, the arrow had killed it instantly or close to instantly. I clasped a hand around the shaft of the arrow and gripped tightly. Placing my boot on the underbelly of the dead Farlong, now on it's side, I pulled with all my strength. The arrow came out rather easily, so I placed it back in my quiver with the stone arrowhead facing bottom.

Quickly shouldering my bow again, I gave a sigh of relief, knowing that my family wouldn't go hungry. I took a quick look around, as to observe my surroundings and note this location in case there may be more Farlongs, or if I was lucky maybe there would be a Tarazur around here at some point. They were fat and full of meat which would feed my mate and our children for weeks. With a grin, I stared down at the Farlong before bending over to begin bringing it back to camp.

Placing both my hands around the rough back stubs which were the legs of the Farlong, I began dragging it backward towards the North, where my tribe's camp was set up about a mile or two away from here. I had only been dragging the Farlong for a few minutes before a strange noise had grabbed my attention. I let go of the corpse, and quickly grabbed at my bow, bringing it front of me, and knocking an arrow. With a three hundred and sixty degree spin in a crouched position, I examined the desert around me carefully, making sure there weren't bandits or anyone else that would steal the body.

I didn't see anything so I loosened the arrow, but didn't let go. I aimed the bow downward towards the ground and took a long look around me before I heard what sounded very similar to heavy breathing right behind me. I turned slowly, and discovered a huge creature much like a lizard except in a more Humanoid shape. His body was hunter's green except for his chest, belly, and things which were white. Covered in scales, and dirtied by mud and sand. It's eyes bright red, it's teeth sticking out of it's muzzle mouth, stained in blood. I was tempted to shoot the beast in the stomach and try to kill it with my hunting knife to my side, hanging from my belt in it's sheathe, but my eyes had widened and I became fearful as I saw what was in it's hands, near it's waist. A MP40 Sub - machine gun.

With a fearsome howl, the huge lizard man spit all over my face and left me in shock. When I saw the figures approaching in the distance, I had prayed they were other tribesman coming to see why I had been gone for so long. Sadly, no. There were multiple lizard men getting closer. Some of them covered in thick metal which only left openings at the arm pits, neck, and head. Skulls were wrapped around their torsos with rope and vine. All of them had a gun of some sort, mostly sub - machine guns. I had spotted a few assault rifles, and a pistol though.

The lizard men were marching, which meant they were organized. Moving at a quick yet reasonable pace in which they were lined up. Their weapons flashing as they extend their arms per every other step. As they drew closer I began to make out that these lizard men were much taller than the one in front of me. Perhaps this one was a scout and the others soldiers?

The lizard man in front of me looked down and stare into my eyes. With one swift movement he had raised the MP40 above his head and then just as quickly brought it down across my left temple. I felt hot blood run across my left cheek, and then there was only blackness as I hit the ground. I heard the sound of footsteps around me and then nothing.

When I came to, I was on a cold stone floor. It was pitch black, and I couldn't even see my hand in front of my face. I felt bare, as if stripped completely naked, though it isn't that much of a downgrade considering I was only wearing a loin cloth, boots, and gloves. My head stung badly and it was becoming distracting as I couldn't focus on anything else, though I fought through the pain and listened to the noises beyond what ever lie ahead in the darkness.

The sound was muffled, though I could hear it. That's one thing my huge Babalonian ears were good for. Even if we were shunned by Humans for being a bit mutant, I found them worth it in the end. My ears twitched as I heard the noise getting louder. Footsteps and some sort of guttural speaking at the same time.

"Svabol jahus wer Babalonian tirir ekik mobi?", A booming voice suggested in a questionable tone. I didn't understand the strange language, but it sounded thick and barbaric.

"Tiric coi selgtarn? Jaci ui hesi silit jaka!", Another voice responded in the same language. The voices suddenly went silent, and a bright light nearly blinded me. It came in a strange shape, moving from side to side until it was finally in a rectangle formation, and two figures were standing in the center. It took me a few seconds to realize the two figures were lizard men, and they had just opened a door to the room I was in. With a quick look around I realized I was in a stone prison cell of sorts, and yes I was now naked.

With a swift kick in my stomach, I coughed in pain and shuttered. One lizard man began hissing while the other laughed. The one who kicked me soon bent over, and wrapped his arm around mine, forcing me up. I stood, barely. They muttered something at me, but my mind was at a blank. They then began leading me down a hall, and when I lagged behind they would hit me over the head and start dragging me along.

After a few minutes of walking, we reached the end of a corridor, where a large stone door was in our way. To my left and my right, all the way down the hall had been doors, but this one led us to our destination. The two of them pushed against the door, and it slid open to the left. The three of us then walked in, and I was amazed.

The room was completely forged of gold. Lizard men in golden armor formed in lines to the left and the right, at least one thousand of them in the huge room, all armed with huge weapons or assault rifles. At the end of the room, in the center stand a golden throne. Sitting in the throne was a huge lizard man with his tail wrapped around his waist and a huge crown on his head. He flicked his forked tongue out of his open mouth and spoke in hardly understandable English.

"Tell us... where is the nearest settlement?"

I'll try to think of a way around this problem.

    Thanks for the offer.

    Thanks.

And if you don't like a certain story, the next one most likely won't be the anywhere near the same.

Oh, and since I've already begun drafting up my next story, I'll give everyone a hint as to what it's about.

Alright, my next story will be much more action based than the first two. Just thought I'd throw that out there.

Plus, not only are there Nazi gorillas but there are also cyborgs, flame throwers, and big explosions.

    Will do!

Update: I'm going to add short descriptions next to the links of the stories now. And soon enough, Sinistar Weekly's first illustration will be coming with Story 4. Story 3 will probably be done before Friday if I don't suddenly procrastinate so that will be three stories in one week~

    Yarhar, inspiration!

    Anywho~

I'm still working on story 3 (Planet of The Reich). It will most certainly be done Friday. I'm thinking of pulling a Shamyalananalan and adding a twist ending but I seriously doubt that will happen, no matter how much I love the idea. I'd also love if you guys starting posting your thoughts on my two stories thus far (Though waiting a day for the third would be even better).

Oh yeah, you guys want closure on that last story or any story with out closure well?

    Maybe some other day. Trololol.

Also, inspirational muzak that drives me to fight against time and beat the deadline: Raspberry Dawn - Black Moth Super Rainbow

Moon Over Season VII, 2155. 5:00 AM. I

I wrapped my hand around the spear on the ground tightly, bringing it up and shouldering it carefully. With a look to my left, and a look to my right I saw others also grabbing weapons around them from where ever they could. Whether they had dropped their weapon like I had, or they didn't have one in the first place. Everything was masked by the flashing red lights and the loud siren so it was hard to tell what everyone was truly doing. From what I could see, everyone was getting ready for the assault, aiming their guns at the main door and doing quick check ups on the weapons. A cyborg beside me getting in a crouched position and preparing to fire. The metal on half of his face showing a valiant expression while the Human part showed pure fear.

The huge metal door shook as if it was nothing but a toy in a child's hand. I could see cracks forming in the center of it. It continued to shake and vibrate with loud bangs and crashes. I assumed the door was having something rammed against it. As the door cracks became so wide and obtuse that one could see through them, I crouched and readied my spear in front of my body so anyone willing to charge at me would be run through.

"Chin up, boys. To those of ya' who live, 'uh round O' booze on meh', an' 'un round O' women t'go along with it! An' to those of ya' who die, well... die like 'uh man! Die with yer' boots on!", I heard a trooper shout somewhere behind me. The crowd cheered in approval, and within seconds the huge door came tumbling down into pieces, falling on top of soldier's heads or just crushing them completely with sheer bulk and size.

Those who weren't crushed had backed up since dust, sand, and other particles were filling the air and our lungs as well as blocking our vision. I remained still with two or three centimeters of my spear shaft resting on my knee while the rest was behind me or in front of me. I kept my eyes closed until I heard a loud roar, and screams of pain.

What I saw was what we all had expected to come of this. In front of me were the apes in their black leather coats, steel armor, and gas masks. They had either short swords or Lugers in hand, beating people to death and killing them execution style. One of the gorillas turned and stare me in the eyes through the mask's portholes, snarling. He pounded his chest and began charging towards me on all fours. His muffled screams of rage heard the whole time.

With an upturn of my wrists, I forced the spear upward, and as the gorilla charged his thigh was pierced by the sharp spear head. The gorilla howled, brought his fist down on the spear and yanked it out, tossing it far from me. As he approached, a tint of light glaring from the burst door revealed the huge blood red swastika painted onto his chest plate, just under his opened leather coat.

As he came close and tried to slam his fists into my face, I ducked underneath his arms and slid past his body until I was behind him. I landed on my back, and was a mere sitting duck as the gorilla turned his massive body and pulled his short sword out of the sheathe to his side. He began moving slowly towards me, walking on the balls of his feet and knuckles, assuming I was out cold.

When he saw my open eyes he snarled and raised himself in the air, about to bring the short sword down and into my chest. I tried rolling to the side but found my belt had been pinned by the gorilla's huge right foot. I screamed in fear, and attempted to swipe the blade away as it neared my torso.

The blade skidded away across my chest, tearing through the upper body of my jumpsuit and my skin. With a cringe of pain, I began to force myself away from the ape which was now repositioning itself and freeing my belt from it's foot. I began pushing myself upward, but the gorilla grabbed me from behind with both his arms wrapped around me. With a muffled chuckle he raised me above his head and slammed me on the ground with all his strength. I let out a yelp of pain as I hit the floor and began coughing. Soon to find blood dripping from my mouth and down my chin.

A quick look around myself proved that the others weren't doing so well either. For every ape corpse I saw, there were at least five Human ones. Even the cyborgs were being torn apart down to their bare circuits and bones. I was about to turn my attention back to the gorilla at hand, who was likely going to stab me in the guts once he found out I was still alive, but the bolt action Remmington just out of a dead man's grasp caught my attention. I crawled a few feet, and quickly grabbed the rifle, turning my sight to the gorilla who had indeed realized I wasn't dead.

Seeing that the rifle was already loaded and the gorilla was up close, I didn't bother looking for bullets or aiming. I simply pointed the rifle and squeezed the trigger. The gorilla suddenly screamed and threw his arms in the air as if something invisible was attacking him before he hit the ground. I let out a sigh of relief, and forced myself up, walking over to the corpse.

His left porthole was busted open, and blood was oozing out of it. I apparently shot him in the eye, and the bullet penetrated his skull. Blood began dripping down the mask and onto the floor, slowly pooling around the head. I couldn't help but gain a sick grin at this sight, knowing that I had overcome a beast much stronger and more equipped than I. I kicked the gorilla's corpse in the side once, and turned around while wiping the sweat of my forehead with the back of my left hand, my right holding the rifle.

Everything ahead was just as Hellish as my fight with that single gorilla except on a wider scale. Bodies torn apart and thrown across the huge lobby, staining the chrome floor and walls with blood. Bloody bones lay across the floor in random locations, missing from their rightful bodies. Gross and thick handfuls of floor covered in a thick liquids such as blood and sweat lay near cold bodies and forgotten weapons.

To my right is a man lifted into the air being stabbed in the stomach. His guts spilling out as he tries to pull them back in. To my right I see a cyborg with a flame thrower lighting up anything that nears him. Directly in front of me was a band of gorillas much like my opponent beforehand, except in blood red armor and a pitch black swastika across their armored chest. Each of them had a long Halberd held between both of their hands. The spike top, the axe side, and the spear end made a fearsome weapon in the hands of a even more fearsome creature. In the center of their arrow head formation stand a woman in uniform. The swastika on her arm band and in the center of her officer's cap in which her soft brownish - red hair flowed free from underneath. Her pale skin both bringing out and being brought out by the red lipstick covering her tight lips.

With a quick movement, her right hand went to her left side as she grabbed the hilt of the long rapier in it's sheathe which she was carrying with her. She brought it out slowly and when it was pulled out, the blade went to her side to where it was pointing at the floor and her hand was wrapped comfortably around it. I swear her eyes were bright red, and they were staring into my soul.

A swift upward arc would bring her sword up, down, and midway at her chest in an angle pointing at me. A sinister grin would cross her face as she began walking forward towards me, ignoring the screams and the rest of the battle inside the space station. Her thick combat boots ka - thunking as she gets closer and closer.

What an idiot I was, letting an enemy so close that she could reach out and poke me in the chest with that sword if she wanted. I should have already been on the ground searching for another bullet to use but something about her had me mesmerized. She made a motion as if she was going to stab me, but something suddenly distracted her as she made a quick turn to hear the guttural grunts of the ape comrades behind her. With a sigh she turned on her heel and began walking towards them before pausing and turning once more so she was facing me again.

"I'm sure there is an escape pod on this ship somewhere. I'd suggest using it. Now," She said before turning for the final time and walking towards the huge breached doors, motioning for the apes to follow behind, which they did. I was confused but I knew taking her advice couldn't be a bad thing. With a final look over everything, I came to a sudden realization. I was the only one left. The woman must have felt some form of pity for me.

I let out a sigh of relief as I saw every living gorilla collecting themselves and leaving through the breach. It didn't take me long before I began running off through the lobby to the main hall which would soon lead me to the escape pods off to the side. Within a few minutes, I was strapping myself into the pilot's chair and flipping on 'Auto - Pilot' which would send me to the nearest planet, Ghaazarhul. Earth, it used to be called. Or so I have heard from the mutants on board the Natias along with me.

As I looked down on the planet from space as the escape pod shot out, I saw a huge ship flying towards it as well. A gigantic swastika painted on the side. If they were going to hit Ghaazarhul, there would only be one way of escaping death.

    Joining them.

With a look to the window pane behind me, I watch the Natias explode in a huge ball of fire.

I need to stop doing this. I'm becoming far too busy to keep up.

I'm really sorry and a bit sad. I had so much planned and loved writing the stories.

Thats a shame I was really enjoying these, hope you find time to return to this. Keep on writing even if it isn't these I very rarely find anything good to read, these help me keep faith in new writers.

Maybe we could all keep this going, by each writing a story for it? I dunno.

Sounds good, if more people contribute then we could have something quite interesting going on here. Thats if you don't have enough time Grathius.

    Here it is:

    Inside a Dead Skyscraper

    September 11, 2001

Tony Estanza was a FDNY firefighter, or New York Fire Department. It was 6:00 in the morning when he awoke, and got dressed in the station. It seemed to be an average day, with nothing exciting happening. Yet. Tony had joined the fire department only a month ago, and had yet to have his first fire. He was waiting in anticipation for that one moment of heroism. He had dealt with small kitchen fires, gas leaks, and a few kittens in trees, but nothing noteworthy. And Tony was bored. He had joined because he thought it would be filled with thrills every day. But he was still willing and happy to risk his life for New York. After a breakfast of scrambled eggs and bacon, prepared by Tony himself (who was a rather good cook), he and his friends sat down for a good game of poker. Tony won 3 hands, before the call came in.

“Okay boys, suit up. We’ve got a gas leak out on the street somewhere. We’ll need to got there and check it out.” Chief Gordon said, as Tony and the boys suited up. Just another boring day. When they arrived at the manhole where the odor of gas was coming from, Tony ran a sensor over it, which would scan for toxins. It was 8:46.

Tony heard the roar of a plane's engine, coming unusually close to the ground. People were muttering, wondering what it was doing. Tony looked up, and there was chaos. A deafening crash and the grinding sound of metal filled the air, along with screams, as the plane collided with the top of the World Trade Center’s North Tower. “Oh my GOD!!!” people screamed in the streets. Tony stood, and the scanner fell from his limp hand. He stared in awe, as smoke and flames poured out of the building which dominated the New York skyline. This was no ordinary day.

Tony rushed to the fire truck, and held on tight as it sped toward the tower. He wondered why the plane had crashed. Was it an attack? All he knew was that this was serious. The sirens blared and lights flashed as the truck pulled up to the lobby. Tony rushed in, and saw devastation. The lobby was completely trashed, and the windows shattered. It would later be learnt that thousands of gallons of jet fuel had rushed down the elevator shaft, and into the lobby. Tony saw to his left a pair of people, burning. He vomited. Employees shrieked as they came running through the lobby and out the doors, to apparent safety. Tony saw that the elevator was out, smashed against the floor of the shaft. He would have to climb almost 70 stories of stair, with his heavy equipment. He started the climb with the rest of the firemen.

Out in the streets, it was pandemonium. Pedestrians screamed and ran for their lives as the tower burned. There was a moment of stillness as another plane engine roared through the air. An explosion bloomed from the side of the South Tower, sending more smoke into the air. The screams got louder, the streets more crowded, and everyone feared that this was no accident. Deep down, every single one of them knew it wasn’t.

When Tony and the others finally reached one of the devastated floors, he looked around, trying to find somebody in the wall of smoke. He heard a cry for help, and saw a businessman underneath an overturned desk. Tony lifted it, and the man said, “Goddammit, my leg is broken!! Help me down!” Tony put his arm around the man’s shoulder, and started to help him down the steps. There was another firefighter helping an older woman down. She glanced at the man Tony was helping, and asked in terror, “What on Earth is going on, Todd?!” Tony was the one to answer. “The tower was hit by a plane. I think the other was too.” He had heard the other plane hit, and was trying to deny it in his head. It took a long time to get them down, but when he did, he ushered them out, to safety. He had finally saved somebody’s life.

The ground rumbled. Tony checked his watch. It read 9:59 a.m. The rumbling grew, and the loudest sound Tony had ever heard ripped through the air, as the South Tower collapsed. From the street, a mushroom of dust and debris was spreading, filled with lead from computers, mercury from lights, and asbestos. It was deadly. Tony’s world went black as the dust consumed the lobby of the other tower. He screamed and cursed in fear as he fell to the floor, protecting himself. gonnadiegonnadiegonnadie he thought to himself as tears streamed down. This was the first time in years he had cried in fear. Outside, the streets were coated with dust, as were the people.

Tony stood, as the dust slowly cleared. It was thickest there, but he could somewhat see. He heard a smacking sound on the pavement. He wondered what it was, but with a sickening feeling, he knew. Every time one of those smacking noises rang out, a life was extinguished. People were jumping. He decided to head up. He could die, but he was determined to save lives. He started up the 70 story climb. He never even made it to 25.

Tony checked his watch again, it was 10:28. He heard the loudest sound of all, as if the world were ending. It was the loudest thing he had ever heard in his life, and one of the last. The floor rumbled and collapsed, smoke enveloping him. He had 2 seconds to scream before thousands of pounds of steel and debris fell on him. The North Tower had collapsed. Tony Estanza died at the age of 26.

On the news, people learned that two other hijackings occurred, one at the Pentagon, and the other in Shanksville, Pennsylvania. It would have crashed into the Capitol Building. But, for those who were in New York on that day, including Tony Estanza’s wife and two 5 year old daughters, this day would live on forever.

    End.

To be fairly honest, it doesn't fit at all but what ever.
