    How is battle MVP calculated?

I am in a battle where I have the highest number of units placed and also the most attack strength on our side and the MVP has gone to the person with 2nd place i both strength and unit numbers. So I want to know how the MVP is calculated so I can get a military victory.

How long the units have been on the battlefield is also taken into account when calculating the battle's MVP. One hour of preparation time is less weighted than 1 hour of battle time, but still it isn't negligible.

I can imagine the calculation is as simple as:

MVP ranking power = (total attack of your units) x (quantity of hours they were on the battlefield during preparation time) + (total attack of your units) x (quantity of hours they were on the battlefield during the actual battle) x 2

Of course take defense instead, when you are defender.

How long the troops have been in place is also a factor. If someone has a smaller number of troops in place at the very beginning of the timer, and someone adds a larger number troops in later (especially much later) the advantage will go to the troops that have been there longer (depending on the difference in strength.)

Thx for the explanation. It makes no sense to me that you would get credit for none battle time, but knowing that I can work with it.

It doesn't make sense to most of us, either

Yeah, this system is ridiculously vague, buggy, or both. It's frustrating when you can't get DM to pass to someone who can actually be online for battles (King/Queen control is too easily lost to fame-chasers at the wrong moment).

I know that I try to manipulate the invasion vote so I can be online when it passes, that way I can be first into the battle with my troops and get the maximum benefit towards Battle MVP.

I don't know that it matters but I also keep all my forces at Heroic for the entire wait period even in a battle that I am planning to fight from fortified. If it calculates the MVP status based on an accumulation algorithm this would also give maximum benefit.

It definitely factors in raw time spent on the battlefield. I guess it's a trade of whether you want recognition for a medal vs. risk of getting Call to Arms/Secret Weapon dropped on you in advance of the battle. I've had two instances now where I definitely had more military power brought to bear in a fight, but added them right before combat to get the drop on the opponent.

Something else I noticed is that at some mysterious point in the battle, the medal is awarded and locked in (signified by medal icons over all the troops of the winner in question). Not sure when/what point in battle this occurs.

In fact, I think the only way you can reliably pass DM from one person to another is to just initiate an invasion vs. a ridiculously small Civ (so you are ensured an easy victory) and have the desired DM manage the battle all by themselves.

It's not awarded nor locked in. It's just graphic representation of who would get the medal if the battle ended at this point, and it first appears around 1/3 into the battle.

So it can still be influenced by adding (or subtracting) a massive influx of troops during the battle? Interesting. I guess this why people were complaining about nefarious DMs retreating other people's troops during combat to ensure they keep their medal.
