America mirror match
i get 2 friendlies but no tech, he gets walkin on thebes for HGB. I nearly get a galley drop on his cap but manages to find my militia the turn it is on land. we both mess with each other with warriors. my single horse pick up 3 barbs and some great upgrades, march, infiltration and blitz. I form an army and start messing with maw who just hit his 5th tech, I take egypt from him and attack his cap taking out 2 archers but he still had more in it. he lost a 9-6 la against my ha but injured it and then he took it out with an archer army but then I got my 5th tech and then got 7CoG. he had little gold and i was sitting on 370g and he conceded.

LOL same thing happened when I played him, except for America game which I completely messed up on. I admit I don't know how to play them to their full potential, but I just hate building a bunch of crappy cities, I think its pretty lame... Ya he had between 4-6 vet galleon fleets with 2-3 CA's in each one, I think I am really missing something about how to play America V.S. America games lol... Of course it wouldn't have mattered if his archer wasn't so bad ass

also forgot 2 mention that i also defended this title against denied, that america game was cool..frm my point o view, nothing lame about crappy cities if your playing 2 win
Man pawkster I love how detail oriented you are. Our battles were close had it been a best of 3 I had that title but you squeeked it out 3-2. Consider yourself challenged when I see you online. GGs
Ok next time I'm going to try that damn city spaming thing when we play our America mirror match. It goes against everything I've ever done or strategized in this game, but I'll give it a shot no matter how much I hate it

When do you wanna finish this maw? You keep vanishing on me. Its 1-1 so far.

He gets his 100g at 3700BC and I get mine at 3500. He gets his 5th tech about 20 turns before me though so that sucks. He also beat me to CoL by about 3 turns. I think I played him even up to this point though. I expanded like a monster. We were both doing about 80 or 90 tech a turn I think and I decided to go for literacy. Anyways He gets it the same turn I did and gets the bonus due to being host. Ok fine I eep my cool and switch to get Irrigation in one turn. Well he ties me to that as well and gets the host advantage. Anyways I might have mixed those two up but he stole both techs from me back to back. So that was the boost he needed. For the next bunch of turns we both worked knights. He ended up having a GL too which is awesome. I must have killed 20 of his KA's but it wasnt enough. I actually had him on the run but made one big flaw. I forced peace on him which put two of his KAs back in a city by his cap which allowed him to defend. After another battle he had a GG to put on top of it and was attacking hardcore. I think I had sam castle this game and GP for fundy so thats how I was able to stay in it despite him making 140ishg a turn to my 90. GG
Gm2 My spanish crush his. I was already setting up a galleon cat attack and found 7CoG which made it unstopable. maw wquit before it got there. GG

I got to throw out there that one of them was America vs America and.... oh yeah, I beat Blades Americans doing every bit of strategy he has told me including somethings already pointed out by the great forum posters of the past.

2weeks 2 slow denied lost this to me and i defended against him after that again, happy 2 take on your 2-0 for a best of 5 dukey neva around
You haven't defended yet. You are up 1-0. If Duke gets on you can play him, but I doubt it hes on vacation.

so it seems that i have put in a challenge for this title..
game 1 america.. ga, explore find barb, kill barb, move a bit, dance a bit, life is good.. oh, wait.. its finds 7cog on turn 4, and by 3000bc has 5 techs, including col and over 200 gold.. eh, i dislike leaving from a game so soon, but i never play america, and id rather just get the next game in..
game 2, germans.. first warrior moves next to the one flag barb, its mine next turn! oh wait, the aztec ai has it instead.. sweet.. so i warrior rush the aztecs.. serves them right.. kill 4 aztec warriors in their cap.. heh, i have no respect for the ai that just wont admit defeat.. its walks in on spain, gets nav, sigh..
find a friendly friendly, it decides to give me bronze working.. excellent, bronze is my favorite color.. plus, i had been working hbr the hard way, so i wouldnt want to waste the couple turns id spent on it anyway, right?
meet up with its near a barb, hes on a hill and i can see his reinforcements coming in.. fair enough, his barb then.. get a caravan from my first war army and work gold/sell it for my hundred, just as he quick steps into my territory.. well, i have a hard hammered horse that has killed 3 silly barbarians from a super barb village, plus two rushed newbies to army up.. attack 9v6! lose..
thats ok, i think that this particular horse army was tipping over my cows, i secretly wanted him to perish.. plus, i have enough gold/selling units to make another non vet horse army! life is good! make the army and hit his wa as it thinks to finish off the super barb that my single tough-guy-now-dead-single-horse couldnt finish..
i attack 6v4 (its is able to heal his wa here, so it is actually 6v6).. even as the mario gods give him a lightning, they give me a blue shell.. i win.. my ha kills a few single archers that he brings to choke off his area, untill he eventually armies up.. i tried to simply wear away his single guys, but maybe i should have tried to break through his choke instead, i think i could have done it..
but, as it is, i tech to med and expand like the wind.. that gentle kind of wind that doesnt quite lift your kids kite up, but that is comfortable to stand in and talk about it with him in..
he switches to fundy (anglor) and pushes my wa and ha away from him, but by this point i have 11 or so cities, including the barracks elite war powerhouse.. he switches out of fund to expand and freezes because of a foolish advisor, sigh.. he comes back in the next turn, but i dont think he knew how far i had spread by this point..
shortly after, i moved my dozen or so knight armies into his turf and the game was over.. i look forward to the next game!
this is a best of 5 series, not a best of 3, yes?
Sounds like you must have had map control right? and thus more gold etc.
otherwise one has to wonder what itz was doing on his side of the map?
