Any chance for sequential turns in MP?
Any chance for sequential turns in MP?
I might actually build the Brandenburg Gate from time to time now. Used in conjunction with other buildings that confer experience/morale benefits to the units the city produces, I should be able to create one city that churns out highly experienced combat units. With a Great general to direct them as well. Very powerful.
Is it just me, or does the Taj Mahal seem extremely powerful now? With Persia, perhaps, one could extend a GA right from the Renaissance to end-game.
- Still no multiplayer animations.
- Still no multiplayer mods.
- Still no improvements on turns compute time.
The horror....
Awesome, If you can add Animations as well, I'll turn into a fanboy.•Multiple out of sync causes found and fixed
Nice to see regular patches on the game, however I would like to see a big push on Diplomacy and AI. These areas, although they have had much attention lately, still need more work.
Thank you
Finally a fix for multiplayer thank you very much.i hope its the beginning of more and extensive patching of multilayer.
Im still VERY VERY dissapointed not to see any diplomatic changes regarding multiplayer
Why doesnt the AI get fixed on MP??????????? I dont care if the game crashes after 200 turns if i can load it again and continue with a friend. But how the hell can we play if there is no diplomacy!!!
I cant even hope on this being the beginning of more and extensive patching... come on its allready 1 year after release date!
Seems to me that's a pretty short list, at least in relation to other, earlier patches.
That says to me they're getting towards the end of patching the game, and appear to be almost happy with it.
A couple of tweaks, a few fixes for the MPs, a little stability, and we'll be ready for an Expansion (including new, better diplomacy) in time for the Christmas market.
Hurrah!
Hello all civ players and 2K Greg!
I really want 2K Greg to listen to what i have to say!
I have been playing this game since the realese and this is my first post on these forums and i cant still se many complaning about the biggest issue that me and my friends experience when we play civ in mulitiplayer.
First of all it takes sometimes hours to get a game started because when we for an example are playing 2 vs 2 we want to start at the same continent or island me and my teammate so implant startlocations would be a really nice thing, or when we are palying small island maps it would be cool if the teammates could start pretty close to eachother so and option for that too.
Another really disturbing thing is that its random if you have a river near the capital so we have to reroll the game until everyone gets a river, because starting with a river is too powerful against no river. And it can take some time if everyone must have a river and at the same time teammates must start on the same continent so this should be sooo nice to have that options to choose from, Would save us hours !
Another really big issue is that when it comes to battle it SHOULD be turnbased because you can win battles if you are fast enough to click first when its a new turn or wait for you enemy makes a move first and then attack the same target 2 times in a row if you attack him immediately the next turn again, if you have a slower comp you cant stand i chance from this big problem.
There are many minor things that can be made but these things is a huge problem when we are playing this game in MP.
If these changes are made i will be sooooo happy =)
Do you hardcore mp-guys dont exprience this issues i am talking about ?
Thanks anyway for a kickassgame =D
"some minor bugfixes"
does this include the Resourcedisplay bug in Hotseat/MP?
you know, when you see there is a resource, you hover with your mouse over it the tile says "resource X", but when you switch on the "show resources bubble" -sorry no clue how that is called in english- it doesn't show some of the resources or doesn't work at all.
I am jusy happy with the ping check!.. FINALLY!! No more rage posts from me!!!
Just start play on mirror maps scripts like this one:

So,Hagia Sophia and Hanging Gardens still overpoverded?![]()
dukeisaac nailed it. There is a discrepancy between mutiplayer AI and single. Nice little slap in the face to be told that we must be suffering some kind of delusion.
It's funny that I may be able to play with my friends by this November. Last November I got all my buddies to buy this and it was a disaster.
Anyway, at least the patches keep coming. It's the very least they can do.
The seaport change - is this a supplement or a replacement? That is, does it still give the +1P/sea resource as well as the new +1G?
I hated 90% of the changes from the last patch (which seemed to be nothing but nerfs), but can't find a single complaint with any of the above; they all sound great.
Those were the only changes from the last patch I actually liked (in addition to stone as a resource and policy finishers). Tell the developers to keep those two wonders exatly as they are, Greg.
2KGreg, I wanted to ask if the developers are thinking of improving AI diplomacy in single player based on some threads such as this http://forums.2kgames.com/showthread...own-and-random. This is a thread started by Gewar and got some good attention, opinions, but most of all, complaints about :
1)Too aggressive early AI
2)Lack of positive modifiers, compared to the negatives, which makes every game the same: Constant world wars after a certain number of turns (as I stated in the last comment)
among others.
So I have 2 questions. First of all, as I mentioned in the beginning of my post, do you know if the developers are actually going to make some changes to diplomacy AI in this patch, or at least in the very near future? And secondly, are those constant world wars --especially between AI's-- what the developers were aiming for in the first place?
"Eye" haven't "bean" playing this game "four" a long time, "butt" I have recently returned "two" check on the updates so far. "Eat" "seams" that Civilization "Vee" has changed "er" lot ever since "eye" last played "eat".
Are the free workers from the pyramids free of maintenance as well? I don't wanna load it up to check right now.
The balance changes look OK. They avoided the major issues still in the game, but the fine tuning is pleasant none the less.
I agree with MadDjinn that the hammer cost on those sea buildings is often prohibitive.
Tiny patch, but some much needed technical fixes. A step in the right direction.
I can finally say this:
Thanks for the multiplayer fixes.
Thank you for fixing multiplayer stability!
That was a quick patch. D:
Any ETA on this August patch? Since it's August patch, it will come out in August right? My friends and I were going to start a MP with Korea coming out today, but since there is MP patches coming out, probably will wait on MP with my friends until this August patch comes out.
Already updated![]()
...so are you guys saying...this August patch already came out?!!!!!!
Yea it has.
85,1mb here
Yup, Korea and wonders should be coming soon too
That's a great news! Wish 2k Greg mentioned on his first post that it's out already.![]()
So the "Civilization 5 has finished downloading" message I received 2 minutes ago was about this patch? Or was it something regarding the new DLC's? I bet its just an advert about DLC.
I did rush over here in 5.34 seconds to check it and saw the patch notes. Can anybody confirm its out?
Wow... I like this new trend, lol.
Sectoid, I just checked the Pyramids within the Civilopedia and it states that it gives "two" workers now. So I believe this patch was applied.
that was quick.
But I'd still like to know what some of the change notes meant.
I miss the multiplayer videos and animations.
A joke when you consider the CIV 5 for over a year released.
I understand what it's to early, but could anyone check if embarking and courthouse bugs are fixed?
Also, I bet one hidden change is renaming Seoul city-state![]()
Darn, it's already out? I was expecting alot more to be added to the patch notes in the coming days. It's definitely our smallest patch yet and most of the more common issues weren't fixed. Oh well, what's there is nice for multiplayer players and wonder-crazed players like myself :P.
There's still the cryptic "minor bug fixes".
