    Leaving a civ

I'd love to get any input/advice on this.

I'm the current fame point leader in my game, and I have a few great teammates in my civ, but the game has become boring and frustrating because we seem unable to pass any votes. We have four players who are completely inactive and one player who always votes against whatever has been proposed. This player won't use chat, and maybe isn't even reading it. Also, I can't effectively rally any support for building wonders.

So I'm thinking about leaving my civ and joining one of the other smaller civs, so that I might be able to actually use my huge army and do something besides research in the late game. I don't lose fame points or medals if I do this, right? I just have to start at the bottom of the roster in whatever civ I join, right? And then I'd just be a few contests/tech MVPs/era victories away from being back near the top?

Has anyone else been in a similar situation? Even if I win, I'm not sure this game is worth my time if all I can do is focus on tech victories for the next several days until it ends.

yes, if you are on an inactive, unproductive team...get out of there ASAP. you'll have to start at the bottom of the new civ, but you won't get any fame staying with your old civ anyway. Also, any techs you MVPed on will come with you, along with all your soldiers and great people.

I prefer smaller civs for this reason, especially in teh beginning. You can accomplish more personally and also as a team and if you are with friends, or like-minded team mates you can be formidable. It's fun to fend of attacks from maxed out civs who assume safety in numbers. Typically they are no cohesive and don't coordinate battles very well and there aren't enough slot sfor everyone to enter units for battle. This is not a problem for a civ of 5 or 6 people.

You would get to carry over only techs you have researched personally to your new civ. If you haven't researched the applicable tech, the troops of that tech don't get to fight until you do so. For example, I researched flight myself so carried over flight and was able to use my fighters when I transferred. I'm a bit curious to know whether flight went away from my previous civ when I left but I suspect it didn't.
On the other hand, you do get to research techs you haven't gotten and medals you haven't received...

I've left an idle civ intentionally and an active one accidentally and each time there was a timer - but the timer made me wait for different times. What determines how long you can join a civ after you've left your old one?

The timer depends on the number of times you have left a civ.

How do I join another one??? I've done it successfully before so maybe this is a bug/glitch something.. anyway its gotta be fixed like soon.
