Kicked from Civ for no reason

Hi, I'm playing on server 824 and I held several ministry positions and the monarchy on and off. A couple hours ago I was kicked from my civ while I was online. I'm certain I didn't click anything but was nonetheless unceremoniously removed. On a side note, we didn't have meritocracy but we were a full civ.

The same thing happened to me in Game 534. One moment I'm looking at an ongoing battle between my nation and another, the next I know the battle is gone and I'm looking at a units screen where the vast majority of mine were no longer there (lost big(gish) stacks of artillery, modern infantry, and cruisers -- for some reason I got to keep my tanks). I certainly hadn't clicked "Leave" in the world screen, my nation was not using meritocracy (I play a number of times a day anyway), and I just hadn't done anything that should have prompted an ejection.

Sadly, it happened in the Late Atomic Era, in a critical time when both my nation and myself were planning our endgame strategy. Where I was a contender for fame points, I suspect I no longer am, which is a bitter pill to swallow given I was silly enough to buy and use some CivBucks during a beta. I can't get back into my nation because it somehow was at max capacity the moment I was ejected, so, ah, I guess I'll be watching how #534 ends from the sidelines, researching something like irrigation. Grr.

Several of the known "weird stuff happens" bugs in the FAQ related to having one nation in the game that is buggy (China, in ours) seem to be relevant for game 534. China has received credit for a lot of the scientific advances and wonders, shows a person as King who is not in the nation, and all of that certainly seems to be a factor in my unfortunate experience.

Yeah, it happened when we were in battle too. I still have the units, they just aren't returning to my home screen and I can use them in battles still.

I suspect it has something to do with max civ size and randomly dropping a player to reach the cap once it has shrunk... I feel like it should drop one of the bottom ranked players or someone who hasn't played in days rather than the person with the most fame....

I call major BS on this

Yep, it's a tough break. Completely took me out of the running in that game, things have moved on without me as the major nations are all topped out with people. Just like that the fruit of a few days and some real world money (my own foolishness) is lost. I might feel better if I still had access to all the tech advances that I had contributed to, but I don't (just the ones I dominated, I think). My production is low now for a lack of bonuses, I have armies I won't bother using without a nation to defend (nor will my old nation benefit for them), and with 3, I think, eras left -- the game ended prematurely for me.

I'd assume that the "clicking the conversation X also clicks the level below" bug was the culprit had I actually clicked anything when I was dropped. But maybe it was a product of the bugged civ in my game, or, as you said, the civ shrinking and it deciding to drop one of the top 3 people in it rather than any of the others. /shrug

    Bummer.

Yep just happend to me a few minutes ago. Now the defense strength is halved of my civ. Precise during a turning point of the games, where we, the Brits or Germans going to win.
Game: 825, player sebg was part of the nation 'British Commonwealth'.

This is the second time and I am not able to join my own or other civ to help because of 'diplomatic' restrictions.

The diplomatic restrictions are just a timer. If this is your first time leaving a nation, it could be as short as an hour. As soon as that wraps up, try to get back in as quickly as possible lest you suffer the same fate I have -- watching helpless and impotent as the last few eras tick away completely unable to participate because your (and the other major) nation is maxed out. It has completely destroyed the game for me this time around. I went from less than 20 fame off of the overall leader to over 120 back. There will be no catching up, even if I ever do get back in my civ.

I deeply regret wasting CivBucks on a game that was taken away from me by one or more glaring (and apparently known for some time, per the FAQ) bugs. As I said before; bummer.

I just got kicked out from my civ too.. I'm on game 1272 I think, king, and minister of many fields, leading in leader board, fame and gold. Close to the end to reach era victory on wonder/gold, suddenly the Russia civilization's king changed, and I quickly rejoined my civ. Few minutes later it happened again, and I had to wait an hour...

I guess it's still the beta, and I hope they fix this fast, as this can be a game breaker. The silver lining is, it's like a wake-up slap, I have spent no less than 40 hours in the last 2 days, now I guess I have to get my life back.... for the moment.
