[Bug?] Did the battle take place or not?
I logged in today and had a message that my civ had entered a battle (I'm assuming it was our invasion of another civ, which was up for vote.) But there was no message about whether we had won or lost. Yet, there are no active battles going on now, and the invasion is no longer up for vote, implying that the battle took place. So, why is there no message about the outcome, and why can't I find out information like this in some kind of log somewhere? Aside from this specific bug, I really think this game needs to provide better information about what has taken place when we were away.

It could also have been barbarians, which were civilized by someone.
Your invasion of another civ could have gone through, or could have been blocked by great wall, or could have been voted down.
If the battle did go through, and it hasn't been a really long time, and it was worth an era victory, there should be a note about it on page 2 of the news as it takes a while for things to scroll off there. Note you may have gotten a cultural victory instead of a domination if you met the cultural requirement, as that takes priority over domination.

It wasn't worth an era victory.
Even if was barbarians, usually I get a message about the outcome of the battle in addition to the "Your nation has entered a battle" message.
