How do you tell you maxed out research?

That's the question. How do I know I've maxed out research on a splicer?

I think there's only 3 levels, so after the third one you can stop researching

I think for everybodys research, the last thing says increase damage+++(3 +'s)

There are 5 levels, and Timus is right. When you've maxed out the research, it will say something such as "Subject research complete" on the top right (at least in the 360 version, I'm assuming PC has the same interface and text pop ups?) and you can't take any more photos of that subject.

Yup, for PC it says that research for the subject is complete.
However, I have had it actually go through a few time, and take a picture of a splicer/whatever I've already maxed out. It brings up the taken picture like normal, but without a progress bar whatsoever.
